hey, guest. welcome to adoptions for dummies. let's call it a.f.d. for short, cause nobody likes typing long names over and over again.

who we are- a.f.d. is a no-application adoption agency. no more web pages that take you a week to make, or applications so long they have a table of contents. all you have to do is neomail us. this won't automatically get you the pet you want, because we don't adopt pets out to any specific person, but this let's us know if there's anyone interested in adopting the pet. i know this isn't how most adoption agencies work these days, but we here at a.f.d. don't think that your html skills should determine whether or not you get to adopt a pet.

what we do- we take lost pets from the pound, zap them with the lab ray until they are a desirable species or colour, and then put them back into the pound to be adopted by some lucky user.once again, neomailing us DOES NOT raise your chances of getting the pet. it just helps us know if we should put the pet up for adoption in the first place, ( we don't want to put a pet up for adoption if it's just going to sit there for weeks, waiting for to be adopted ) and please keep in mind, we do not adopt out to any specific person. the only time a pet will be transferred to someone is when we need more room for our pets and we give some of them to foster homes until they can be adopted. ( foster users are listed below) there might be many people trying to adopt the same pet, so there is no way to guaruntee you the pet that you want. however, there are some ways to raise your chances.

what YOU do

• first of all, make sure your account is activated, you have less than four pets, ( and please don't abandon one of your pets to adopt one from us, as this sort of defeats our purpose ) and your account is over four months old . one of the new neorules is that you can't adopt painted pets, limited edition pets, or pets that have a level of 4 or higher unless your account is older than four months.

• second, have at least 500 neopoints out when you go to adopt your pet to pay for the adoption fee at the pound. you may even want to have more than that, since the fee differs on the species, colour, and level. this money goes only to Neopets.we here at a.f.d. do not take any money from people that adopt our pets.

  ok, the next few steps are very important, so pay close attention.

• the pets that are up for adoption are listed below. to see their stats, click on their name. by their names, there will be a date and a time. this is when the pet will be put into the pound. make sure you have the correct time and date of the pet that you want to adopt. all of the times below are NST. *there is also a date in parenthesis after the first one. this is the back-up pounding date, which is when the pet will be pounded if the agency misses the original date.

• on the day that the pet you want is going to be given away, get to the pound a few minutes early. to get to the pound, go to the Neopian Plaza and click on the bulding that says The Pound. then click on the pink door with a pink uni, or something of the sort, inside of it. this will take you into the pound, where you will see an Adopt-A-Pet search engine link. click on the link, and the type the pet's name into the box.

• the second the clock turns to the time your pet is going into the pound, click the go button. make sure not to go too early or too late, or you will minimize your chances of getting the pet you wish to adopt. if the pet is in the pound, there will be a picture of it, a small description, and the amount of neopoints it costs to adopt that pet. click on the pet's picture to adopt it.

hopefully, you will be able to adopt the pet that you wanted to, but if you don't get the pet, please do not harass any members of the agency or the pet's new owner. just be glad that the pet was adopted, and it's not ownerless and in the pound any more.
