An ode to the old Neopets

Luckily I managed to save some of the images that made me smile on the old Neopets site :) So I thought I'd share them here. And I decided to use this petpage cos now the pet lookups have been revamped, the "- Other Statistics -" box would make no sense whatsoever and... well, I just wanted this petpage to be different :P

The old Acaras

When I first saw this on my pet oxCharlixo's lookup, I thought, "Wow. What a cool Acara." OK, I'm weird; it's just how the paws were drawn that made the art look brilliant.


I got these both off the Shopkeeper page, but later on I found out that the faerie (right) was the original Faerie Acara. Both look pretty innocent, huh? ;)


The Acara plushie art was brilliant. All of them looked innocent with their heads tilted... but when I found out that TNT were redrawing most of the plushies to be up to date with the neopet art, I saved the memories of the Island Acara Plushie, because I thought the art was seriously cool.

Some of the rest of my pet family

The first pet I ever painted was my bori x_Aussie, and in case you haven't guessed from the picture above, I painted her baby. The baby Bori was different from the rest of the baby pets, I don't know why, it just is, but I liked it because it was bounding on all four of its legs. And that bow. Aww :)


The only colour I would consider painting my Uni Heatherbell_ would be Royal. I liked the pinkness of her fur; it's lighter than the normal pink Uni. The regal clothes that came with it - hat, coat, wreath and bow - were just brilliantly drawn. And isn't her mane so... so... indescribable? :P


Before JubJubs got redrawn. I got this from the lab ray and I liked the way the JubJubs were drawn, with their massive feet almost hiding their face. They look like shy creatures. Then TNT redrew them and they looked more happy than shy. Grr.

Title banners

One of the first ones I saw. Of course, it had the Acara, so I had to have it in my collection :P


Before the Games Room redraw. I think I liked this cos it featured Hannah in her Pirate Caves costume.

Front page rollover

Armin is my favourite famous Bori and I thought the rollover was pretty cool... literally and figuratively ;)
