Greetings! You must be guest...I've been long awaiting you. My names Truth, and I'm glad to meet you! I truely am. I happen to be (if you were wondering) an underwater herbologist. Now, if you don't know what that means, I'll explain it to you a little, just so you can understand about me better.
The idea of an underwater herbologist came to me randomly one day. I had always been interested in plants, but never the dryness of them. Then, while scanning my daily route to town via the water passages, I noticed how seaweed, polyps, anemone and many other things could be ground down and mixed with liquids to create potions!
Well, as I mentioned just before, I don't like dry plants, but that doesn't mean i don't use them. In my potions, I try and make the ingrediants a variety, varying the taste and power of the potion.
But enough about herbology for now, I'll explain more about that later.
Now, about me. I'm not sure myself of what I'm like exactly, but many people say I'm kind and comforting... do you think so? Well, you might not, because you've only just met me! I'll tell you a little about what I like, and the things I do.
Obviously, I have a certain addiction to mixing things and creating potions, but that's not all I do. I'm also rather interested in ribbons. I like attaching a ribbon to a stick, then twirling it high in the air and down to the ground. my sister Chrysaeor really hates me doing it. She's just sits around in a slump eying me. You know it's odd, she only really gets on with Elusive but then again, why not?
My favourite part of Neopia would have to be Mystery Island, because of it's luscious beaches, silky water and lovely frilly plants, plus all those gorgeous coconut people! But the thing I love most about the misty Isle is the humid temperature. it's beaches make it perfect for me to find good things to put in my potions, and i enjoy sitting in the hot sun and then diving into a cool spring in the jungle.
Other than that, I just hang around Neopian Central. I really love to go on walks past the rainbow fountain, hoping that one day Sarah will finally paint me pink. I doubt it will happen until after she's bought a faerie paintbrush for my cousin, Seaqueen, but I suppose I can always dream...
I guess to really get to know me, you need to know the things I like and hate above all. here they are:

Underwater herbologist
A Herbologist is usually someone who conducts experiments and makes concuctions such as organic potions and things for healing uses or other things. Now, the difference between me and an average herbologist is that I'm an underwater one. So what does this mean? Simple! That instead of using the average ingredients, herbs, plants, organic vines or weeds, I use underwater ingredients.

Well, what I want most at the moment is a pink paint brush, I can tell you that. Sarah has big plans for buying it once she's finished saving up for the faerie paintbrush for my cousin, Sea. I can't wait, but until she saves up a million, possibly a million and a half neopoints to buy the faerie one, I'll just have to wait. It seems like ages away...I mean, I can't even count up to one million! Oh well..

I cherish my family more than anything else in Neopia, and I am so happy that it's a loving and caring one. I'll introduce you to my brothers, Rune and Elusive, my owner, Sarah and my adopted sister, Chrysaeor.
Wow! I haven't gotten much fanart...hardly any, actually, but thank you so much Ruan for this generous (^_~) contribution!! I adore it!
Did you ever think we were going to get to this part? Now, after having heard all about me, it's time for you to learn a little part of what makes herbology tick. First, lets go over the basics:
Rule 1
Rule 2
Rule 3
Rule 4
Now, speaking of getting somewhere, let's begin!
Know Your Plants
Common Plants
First of all, we must learn all the most common plants used in a regular concuction. I will be showing you an assortment of both dry and wet leaves, seeing as you are a land dweller, you may as well know both. We'll begin with the average herbs.
Basil
Parsley
Arva
Olrui
Underwater Plants
Again, certain attention must be brought to the fact that I am an underwater herbologist, meaning that I mainly use underwater ingrediants, being a peophin and all. Many of the following things are equivalent to those above, just more...uhh...wetter.
Seaweed
Underwater Tirageyth
Anemone
Staghorn Coral
Dark Plants
Certain aspects of a plant make it a dark one. In most cases, it's because of the fact that the plant is good for making dark themes potions out of. A less common reason is because the plant is dark in nature. I remember once when I was hunting for a Yulpris, is grabbed with by the tail and flung me into a lake. Mind you, it was a rather big one.
Land Tirageyth
Tasparth

Family
I adore Elusive's company. He just literally lights up the room. From the most I can remember, Elusive, Rune and I were seperated at birth, each leading a different life from thereon. Elusive traveled all the way to a mysterious country between Tyrannia and an unknown land, he called it something like Africa. There he mingled with a group of "zebra" peophins, and adapted their coats. I could explain the whole story, but it's my page, not his :)
*chuckles* Rune has got to be the funniest person I know. Not just because he occasionally cracks the odd joke, but because he often does funny things without realising. He's now a dolphin peophin after the major mishap when we were born and he started living in the deep part of the ocean. Instead of living the live of solitude like Elusive, Rune socialised, made a girlfriend, who then left.
Chry is a whole other story compared to Rune and Elusive. To begin with, she was adopted by Sarah one day at the beginning of the year, so she isn't related in any way, other than paperwork. Chry is alright, I wish we could be friends, but she's scornful. Elusive has made friends with her, so if I continue persuing, she might bring down her barriers and let me get to know her better.
And of course, then there's Sarah, my luffable owner. She is one of the best I've had (believe me, I've had a few) and she's never, EVER thinking of abandoning me, so now I ma able to get to sleep each night. (if that doesn't make sense, read meh story, foo!) Sarah has many unusual habits: collecting, sorting and being fascinated with socks, staring at the computer screen hours on end and waking up feeling like a zombie. It's fun to watch, actually, haha.

Back To Herbology
When cutting, slicing or dicing herbs, you must always remember to use a sharpish knife, and ALWAYS be careful not to touch the blade, or else it'll be fingers in the potion, not leaves!
Always be certain about what you are putting in, certain foundations work together, but a slight peice of herb or seaweed in the wrong place, and poof!
When serving a healing potion to someone, always go over the ingredients with them and make sure they aren't allergic to any of the plants. If they are, this could end up in serious illness, and a trip to the Neopian Hospital
Never be afraid to experiment! If you are, you'll never acheive anything. You musn't be afraid of rules that sound defying, or else you'll never get anywhere.
Probably the most common household herb, Basil is often used in most potions, being both dry, and effective when wetted with water. Basil has many properties and effects that can be taken into place and when mixed with the correct balance of Perigwar and Rasakile, can be extremly powerful.
Parsley comes in number second of the most used herbs around neopia, and, like Basil is still, although simple, effective. Parsley works quite differently when wet, though. With parsley, you must go through the correct procedure. First, wash it with normal water, then dunk it in a bowl of water with sugar and salt in it, creating a sticky layer. If you stick the leaves of the basil plant around the stem, it creates the base taste for an average healing potion.
Arva is a slightly more powerful, and dry plant found in forests and jungles, often not without ixis nearby, as they love the crunchy taste. Arva's are not as common, though, so be careful when you manage to get your hands on one, as they are limited use. Arva's are extremly good for dark magic potions, which i don't exactly specialise in. You mix them with Stiltrassa to make an extremly vile stench potion.
Olrui, a lighter herb than Arva, is one of my personal favourites. As well as being beautiful, common and powerful, it has many effects, often regarding limited powers and invisibility for a limited time. Although common, very few people know how to combine them properly with other plants. I only know half about these versatile and pretty plants than most experts.
Yup, just your average ol' Seaweed. It can be compared mostly to Basil because of it's commoness and simplicity. Seaweed comes in many different forms, spotted, striped, lesser seaweed, greater seaweed, green, red, blue, hundreds of different things, but thats what makes it such a great plant to use! variety!
Like the one in the section below, an underwater tirageyth is extremly powerful and dark. It's also a rather wonky plant, making it hard to remove from the seabed without ripping it. To remove one, bring a pair of clippers underwater, cut the stem, then put it in a plastic pouch until you return to the surface.
My most favourite plant of all time! It's just so lovely and radient with all it's glossy colours and wave tentacle-like polyps. Anemone, being both common and rare, should only be used in healing potions. Any other, and you'll be likely to turn into a reject cybunny plushie, mmkay? It's rather weak, anemone, but that's what I like most about it.
Staghorn is often mixed with with anemone for healing brews, but has many different properties. It can be used for morphing potion, invisibility potions, and even sometimes dark potions, although it's not as effective in the dark area as some of the plants below. Staghorn is rare, but easy to find if you know where to look. Heres a hint: it's somewhere under the dock where you might find fish, squids, or even rotten left shoes!
As i mentioned before, the Underwater Tirageyth is related to this one, although slightly light. the land tirageyth on the other hand is vicious. It eats flies for food, which believe it or not, makes a good insect repellent. Because of this, it's extremly useful, if you are willing to put up with it chasing after your petpet.
Doesn't look dangerous does it? Well it's not. Tasparths are lifeless, much like a potato, actually. The moehawk type part actually sticks up out of the ground and the bottom part is a sweet fruit buried underneath. Althouh light in nature, Tasparths are one of the most powerful plants for mixing bad and vile potions.
