Restocking
Have you ever wondered how to make LOTS of neopoints, and have fun doing it? Have you ever heard of those crazy neopians who have 2 billion neopoints? Want to know how a lot of them get it? The answer is restocking. I can turn you from a 50 neopoints a day salary, money-tree scavenger, into a well dressed, highly rich, money-tree donater! This guide has almost everything you need to know to get started.

What is Restocking?

Well, restocking is the art of going to a shop, refreshing over and over, finding an item that is sold for less money than it's worth, buying it REALLY fast, and selling it in your shop, or on trades if it's unbuyable (worth over 100,000). There's a lot to restocking, but before I even START to explain that, here's a few abbreviations that I think you'll need:

  1. rs- restock
  2. rsing-restocking
  3. r (example, r99, r80, r97)- rarity. This is basic, but the higher the number, the less likely it will stock in a shop.
  4. stock- no, not stock in a company that you buy , but it means to come into a shop (an item shop).
  5. gj and nt-if someone does a good restock, say gj (good job), if they miss one, say nt (nice try). simple
  6. u/b- unbuyable (item worth more than 100k)
  7. ab-autobuyer. A very bad thing. (You'll learn later on)

When are Restocks?

Restocks are anywhere from every 2 minutes, to every 30 minutes- usually around 8 minutes between restocks. When there is a restock, the shops stock in order of the shop numbers (look on the url of a shop, ex: food is 1), roughly .1 seconds inbetween. There are 75 shops, so it takes 10 seconds about for all of the shops to rs.

Where Should I Restock?

Check the shop section.

I'm still confused... Where should I rs? Too many shops

Well, for beginers, try snow foods, or pharmacy, or faerie foods.

I have my shop, what do I do now?

You're ready to learn how, now. First of all, to know when there's a rs, go to the food shop about every 30 seconds, or whenever you want. If you see more than 3 rows of items there, it's most likely a rs. You can also tell, if there are items that usually aren't in there. HURRY to your shop, and see if there's anything worth buying (you should know what to rs at your shop by now). If there isn't, refresh the page, and look again. Refresh a few times, for about 30 seconds. If you see a good item? CLICK ON IT FAST. and hit enter, to close the box that comes up. You will then go to a haggling page. Don't freak out here. You now need to learn how to haggle well.

How do I haggle for an item?!

If the shopkeeper asks for 12749, I bet if you're new to restocking, you think you have to put that EXACT amout of nps in. Wrong! You have to put in a number anywhere around that price, from the range of 9500-15000. Here are some good numbers that would be smart to type in, for that item:
12121
12345
12222
12333
11111
14321
12000

Notice that they are all easier to type! This is a benefit, because speed always matters. There are hundreds of hungry restockers, browsing the shops during a rs, trying to get the items that you try to get. So during all of this, go FAST.
If the price is 5000, try:
5000
5123
4777
4848

If the pirce is 47136, try:
47474
45678
47777
44444
50000
46666

You'll end up developing your favorite prices. Personally, I like alternating numbers (13131, 73737, 3535, 5454).

Note: The haggling price doesn't always have to be under the real price, it can be anywhere near it.

Okay, after you haggle a price, then what?

The next step is coding. Ok, so you're haggling on a morphing potion, type 18888, and see something else below it. You should see something like:
Enter the amount you wish to pay,
then click on the Elephante to continue.
or
then click on the Yurlbe to continue.
Or whatever pet they want you to click on.

A small picture will be under those words. The picture will be of a neopian world, like Kiko Island, Tyrannia, or the Lost Desert. There are many more, and many that are not used, like Terror Mountain, Neopia Central, and Faerieland. The whole picture will be faded a bit. Some more than others. There are also faint grey swirls, but those won't get in your way at all. The main thing you have to pay attention to, is a pet. Notice I said "A" pet, and not "the pet that they said to look for". The pet, unlike the rest of the picture, will not be faded, so it will stand out more. The point, as the directions say, is to click on the pet (as fast as you can or corse). Quickness comes, so do NOT read the message of what to do, and do not even look at the pet to click on. Just click on whatever bold image you see. If you click on the wrong place, the haggle page loads again, and if it's a popular item, it'll probablly be bought by the time you do it again. Colors: I'm pretty sure that the only color the pets will be, is a random one of the 4 main colors (red, blue, green, yellow). Here are 3 random examples of codes:

Some codes can be easier, like this one:

And yet some can be harder, like this:

So How can I practice coding?

To practice coding, go to the Tiki Tack shop, or some other shop that has items. Click on one, DO NOT haggle, but just code it, as fast as you can. You can also haggle as fast as you can (but do not code), if you want practicing with that.

Restock Bans

The neopets team has penalties for refreshing a shop too much! If you restock all day, or you refresh a shop a WHOLE bunch of times over and over for a while, you will get banned! Being banned is when you are not allowed to shop and the shops anymore. Every shop will say that they're sold out. To find out if you're restock banned, go to a shop that ALWAYS has items in it, like Tiki Tack. Restockers make fun of this place, because it's the worst possible place to rs at. Restock bans last anywhere from 6 hours (rare) to even 2 days. I've found that it's usually 24 hours, add or take a few. You should try hard not to get banned. If you have been restocking for a couple hours straight, play some games, or play neoquest 2, or take a break doing whatever.

Ok, I'm getting the idea of it now

Y our restocking training is almost done. Here are some random restocking tips:

~ Items that are r90-r100, always stock for 5,000 nps or over. If an item that usually would stock for less, and is that rarity, stocks, it will stock for exactly 5,000. So 4747, or 4646, or 5000, or 5151, or something like that will work well. If you see an item for exactly 5k, chances are, it's good to rs. Not all though.

~ r99's stock very rarilly, and r100's, even MORE rarely. But if the raririty is over 100, the item does NOT stock in a shop.

~ This is a new and very useful tip for catching the starting of the restock. The new clock on the left banner makes this possible. ALL RESTOCKS START ON THE MINUTE exactly NST (neopian standard time). Each time it's :00 or :30 (more rarely), there's a chance that food will start restocking (then all of the others will start). So have two windows open when restocking. One for whatever you're doing (chatting, shopping, whatever). In the other window should be the food shop. When it's :55 or so, start refreshing. If something comes into the food shop, go to the shop you're restocking at. If it doesn't, go back to your activity window.~ If you ever get tired of a shop, or it's not working out for you, check back here, and find a new one. As I said before, it can sometimes restock on the :30 second. I wouldn't worry about checking the shops each :30 though.

~ On the 3rd of every month, it's half-price day! Every item in the shops will have it's price cut down to 50%. The shops are more crowded, but many more items are good to buy :)

~ I don't know how this can help, but a shop can not have more than 6 rows of items.

~ Believe it or not, you a rs guild can help you get into the mood for rsing. If you need one, you'll be able to find one somewhere.

~ If you Have other questions about restocking, neomail me! (lord_restocker)

The illegal Things!

There are two bad things you can do with restocking.

Using an Autobuyer~ ab, or AB stands for autobuyer. An autobuyer is a program, that automatically buys an item, and most of the time it's faster than a human. This had made me, and other restockers miss a LOT. Where do ab's come from? People write them, and then -blocked-. I don't know any of the sites, and I'm glad I don't. Sometimes people even sell them. Ab's mess up the economy, and if the neopets team has ANY suspition of someone ab'ing, they will probably freeze their account.

Multi-Account Restocking~ The abriviation is multing. Multing is when you use more than one account for restocking. This is bad, because if you would be allowed to multi all you want, there would be no point in restock banns! Like abing, if the neopets teams finds out you do this, you'll be frozen.
