You climb your way up the dark stairwell, in hopes of reaching your destination. After a good five mintues of walking, you're thankful that your ascention is over. Without sparing a moment, you approach the handle of the door that lies before you. Flinging it open, reveals a small room that seems to be completely empty, save but a few chairs. As you step in, an ominous presense begins to loom over you. When the uncertainty of your safety rises, you step back and to your surprise you see a figure looming in the shadows. Stepping out of the darkness a draconic being presents himself to you.
As soon as you finish explaining yourself, you take notice at the faint smile on the draconid's face. Within seconds he's back to scowling, however the air around becomes less stiffling.
Yes, I am General Aramao. Once known as Aramao of the Zyndraca, he pauses but only for a moment before resuming I'm going to say this in the kindest way that I know how. As long as you're here, you're going to know everything. I'm going to tell you everything about myself.
Hello. My name is Andrea and welcome to my application. I'm 19 years old and I'll be entering my Sophomore year of college at the end of August. I go to an art school in the big city and I'm majoring in cartooning. That's right; I'm striving to be a comic book artist. Aside from cartoons, I enjoy painting, sculpting, and computer art. I am VERY much into anything that is creative. I play the clarinet and some ukulele, as well as being apart of choir for 9 years. Not only do I thrive creatively, but i excel academically. I graduated 10th in my high school class out of 543. I also have a current GPA of 3.8 out of 4 in college. As far as hobbies go I love playing video games, forum roleplaying, watching anime, swimming, and a wide variety of other activities.
I started playing Neopets back when I was in the 6th grade. I'd like to say that was around the year 2001. My first account was something close to celebilover888 (there were perhaps some underscores and what have you) and unfortunatley it was taken away from me. No, the account was not frozen and it was no fault of mine. Perhaps being my naive 13 year old self I stumbled upon a cookie grabber site. Whatever the reason, when I went to log into the account the next day my "secret word" wasn't working. Needless to say it was changed on me, so I was forced to make another account.
My second account was kacheeklover_888. It is still in the system but I don't have access to it. After I stopped playing Neopets in 2002, I completely forgot about the account. All of the pets on that account were adopted from the pound as I was obsessed with the concept of "rescueing" pets in need. Since it has been over 2 yrs without login of that account, it's "technically" disabled. I can no longer login, nor can TNT retrieve the "secret word" for me. I still regret letting my account go to waste like that, but then again being 13 or 14 at the time I probably saw it as more of a passing fad.
The present is where we finally reside now. I made my current account, inuratus, early March of this year. It has a pretty funny story about why and how I came back to Neopets. When I came back home on my Spring Break, I noticed my mom (yes... I just said mom) playing on Neopets. So seeing it and then reminising about the days of old, I made an account and have been devoted and addicted ever since. It also proves that there are INDEED older and more mature neopets users out there. Not only for the kids anymore. I also have 2 side accounts. The first being xaderan- of the sides are full of pets that I've adopted.
As far as what I do on Neopets, it's pretty simple. First and foremost I love playing games, mostly to earn neopoints because I'm on a quest to paint all of my pets the way I want them to look. Secondly I am a Beauty Contest Enthusiast. I LOVE the BC, as it is art related. Most of my pets have been entered, and I even placed third in species with my Hissi, Sylaxea. The Beauty Contest gives me a chance to show off my pets to others and invites them into their world (my pet's that is). I enjoy giving my neopets their own persona and love drawing them. Aside from that I'm a regular lurker... I mean participant in the BC forum. Another things I love doing is adopting pets. I have adopted five pets in total as of now. If you'd like to know, they are: Iovanni, buddy's_cat_page, mei_zen, DeusExMorina, and _madness_. I guess old habits never die.

Aramao. He's one of those pets that when you come across him, you automatically know he's special. Since I love to adopt pets, I went searching for some that were up for adoption and he immediately grabbed my attention. I am not after him because he's a rarity; I truly want him to become a part of my Neo family. As you can see, all of my current pets are special to me regardless of species. Being that he is a dragon, or dragonic creature, it adds to Aramao's overall appeal. Reptilllain (esque) creatures really catch my fancy and they are VERY much fun to draw (just look at my Hissi's I've got 3!).
I see an incredible amount of potential in Aramao. Whenever I look at him, I don't see just a bunch of pixels on a virtual site, I see a being waiting to be brought to life. It may sound a little corny, but that's how the mind of a cartoonist works. Aramao is a very tormented individual who has alot that he needs to say to the people of Neopia (not just Neopia either.. the world). I believe I can do him justice.
Other things that are just perfect about him, include his name. I couldn't have asked for anything different. Aramao sounds perfectly exotic and fits right into my style of character making. His look in itself also is a plus. To me, I see Ara (a possible nickname) as an oriental style dragon, that is in quad form. He just gives off this aura of complete authority and demands your attention. Aramao is definitely someone who is not to be taken lightly.
Aramao, isn't just a pet. He has his own life, his own history, his own future. like I said before, he will never be treated as just a bunch of pixels. He is unique and an individual like everyone else; there will NEVER be another Aramao.
Now you're probaby wondering why I'd make the best owner for Aramao. Well there are many reasons that would make me not only an excellent, but perhaps the best candidate for Aramao. As I said before, I treat all my pets as my own creations. Being an art student and aspiring cartoonist, I enjoy brining and giving life to characters. With me, Aramao will not only have a wonderful and attentive owner, but he will also to be able to come to life through both my drawings and stories. He will have his own being and presence in Neopia, and also outside of it as well. I have already become so attached to Aramao, that I cannot stop doodling him every chance I get. In my eyes, he is apart of my family of characters, and it would be the biggest honest if that dream were to come true. Trading or abandoning him? Absolutely, not. Once Aramao is within my possesion he will never leave my side. Just like my other pets, he will never be up for trade or adoption. I do NOT believe in trading pets. I have given life to my pets, so they are my responsibility and mine only. I would never trust anyone with them. So it's safe to say that Aramao would not be going ANYWHERE. I want everyone to see how great of a guy, he is and how much potential Aramao has. With me, he will be able to live the life he was meant to live to the fullest extent.
I'd like to say that Aramao's future with me would be a great one. First and foremost,he's going to be in the Beauty Contest, and I mean ALOT. I have entered 3 of my pets before in the BC and my Hissi, Sylaxea, placed third in species. I'm currently on break from the BC only so that I am completely devoted to working on Aramao's application. He will will be on my main account and there is no doubt that he will be my active pet.As I said before Aramao will never be converted, he will never be painted, traded or abandoned. I sincerely mean this when I say it. I love Aramao. He is already apart of my creation of characters. He is an inspiration to me and my artwork and I really hope that you do take that into consideration. It would mean everything to me if Aramao would come to join my family.
I'm not sure if this is considered as plans, but many people might be wondering something about my interpretation of Aramao. His design is very simple. I'd like to sat, first off compared to others he might look simple. He doesn't have any wild colors, or intricate designs. He doesn't have wings or any special markings. Is this an excuse for unoriginality? Absolutely not. There is a very specific reason that Aramao looks the way he does and I will explian.
Aramao is a Darigan Draik. Being a Darigan Draik, he's purple. I know there are many others that come up with all these other design concepts that are very different. My problem with that is that you can never TELL that he is a Darigan Draik. I feel that behind all of those colors and markings you cannot see Aramao for what he truly is. I want to emphasize and praise Aramao for who he is, not hide him behind a design that looks nothing like him. Bottomline is Aramao is meant to be a Darigan Draik. I'm proud of that and he is as well. If I wanted to draw him as a light blue Draik with a crecent moon and silver markings, why not apply for a Blue Draik or even a Starry Draik? With me, Aramao will be known as a Darigan Draik and he will be an amazing person.

Xalutrast.(ZA-loo-traw-st) A once prosperous state as many Zyndraca (zeen-dra-cah) historians would agree. Such a shame to see a thriving capital, full of life, turned into a wasteland that is barely capable of sustaining mere vegetation. The vast heaps of ash and debris paired with an ominous violet sky, keeps visitors away from this wilderness.
In the year 567 Acra (ahk-ra), Xalutrast was at the peak of prosperity. Known as a mercantile state, it was Zyndra's (zeen-dra) leading producer of artillery and technological advances. Its people were said to be the most intelligent and benelovent Zyndra had to offer. Gerenally a very welcoming state, it hardly tunred down an outsider and was even known as a safe haven for the wandering traveller. Despite all of this, Xalutrast met its destruction in the year 569 Acra.
The Dar-lystra Battalion (dar-lee-strah bah-tal-lee-in) was responsible for Xalutrast's collapse. They are the well-organized militia of the Lystria (lee-stree-ah) nation, a rival nation to Zyndra. Forever envious of Xalutrast's technological success, a plan was devised to steal their fortune for their own raising nation.
Many might wonder how such an affluent state could fall so easily.Xalutrast's biggest weakness was the size of their province. Not many realized that it was a fairly small state with only a population of 10,000 citizens.
Dar-lystra Battalion had out numbered Xalutrast's citizens by an overwhleming 80,000 masses. A handful of its men also posed as merchants and accepted numerous amounts of Xalu's weaponry for an exchange of natural resources: a main lack that they did not have readily available. The night of 5. 6 dimo 569 Acra, Dar-Lystra had stormed Xalu using its technology against them. Almost all of the men were slain, except some who would prove to be a useful addition to the Battalion. The women and children were captured and made to be citizens of Lystria. In a matter of several hours, Xalutrast had toppled only leaving behind a blazing inferno.
Zyndra being a peacful country, decided not to pursue war against Lystria.Thousands mourn the loss of Xalutrast, but many remember and honor it for the admirable state it once was.
Aramao

Standing at a towering six foot, four inches, Aramao carries with him an air of dominance that is apt to frighten anyone within his vacinity. His personality compliments his stature, being ruthless and utterly incompassionate. As a General in the Dar-Lystra Battalion, Aramao spends most of his time overseeing his men and divising new tactical strategies.
Doing whatever is best for himself, he fails to consider the needs of his nation before his own; a characteristic that makes Aramao a most unpopular General.
Despite his overall demeanor, Aramao shows lapses of benignity towards a select few. General Aramao is far more complex then others credit him, and shows signs of not being entirely cruel.

Aramao was born and raised in Xalutrast. He lived there with his parents and was raised as a respectible young man. He was very popular amongst his peers and even adults admired his talent and determination. Growing up in such a prosperous state, enabled him to be very handy when it came to artilery use and even the assembly of some machinery.
In the year 569 Acra, Aramao was merely 20 years old. He was getting ready to accept his new job as a technical supervisor, when the Dar-lystra attacked. He hurried over to his home and unsurprisingly his house was in the presence of invaders.
What's happening here? Who are you people? he shouted frantically while thumbing around for the nearest sword.
We are the people of Lystria. Bow down to us and you shall not be harmed, said a rather stocky individual clad with sword and armor.
Aramao looked around confused and said, I... I don't understand. Where are my parents? What have you done?!
The man bellowed and snickered at Aramao comment.
You're parents are obviously no longer here. They resisted, unfortunately and were taken as prisoners. So, why don't you be a good lad and comply while I still give you the option, hmm?
At hearing this Aramao ran out and desparately searched for some answers. This task seemed to be nearly impossible as the province was in complete chaos: fire everywhere, people screaming, alarms sounding.
Finally he came across an opening where he witnessed such a traumatic scene. Before his very eyes, his people we being demolished. He couldn't bare the sight and decided that they needed to lend some support. As he ran towards the crowd of people a huge explosion went off knocking Aramao unconscious and sending him backward into the brush.
Upon waking, Aramao heard a murmuring of voices nearby.
You, sir! Go search by the brush. See if there are any others left.
Yes, sir!
Aramao quickly tried to get to his feet, but the young man had already made his way in front of him. He approached Aramao slowly and crouched down in front of him.
Quickly. You need to come with me said the young man with haste.
Who are you?! Get out of my way! I have to find my parents. Unless you're here to help, I suggest you get away from me shouted Aramao as he began to stumble away.
Please, wait. I AM here to help you.
Aramao stopped and turned to face the man. He had to consider his next move carefully. This man was infact apart of the Dar-lystra so he may as well be lying to him.
My parents are being held prisoner. I'm going to find where they are. If you have anything helpful to add you should tell me now or else I'm leaving.
Prisoners? I'm sorry but the Dar-lystra doesn't take any prisoners. Your parents...they...I'm sorry but they're gone.
No! You're lying!
Please you have to come with me or it'll be too late. You have to come now! insisted the young man with a dire urgency in his voice.
Aramao couldn't bare the thought and decided to make a run for it. Unfortunately the last thing he saw was the young man running after him before he woke up in a holding cell.
Aramao awoke chainned in what seemed to be a holding chamber. It was a very small room that was dimly lit by window in the southern corner. He was lying on a cold metal table, and his movement was greatly restricted.
After several minutes a man walked into the chamber and sat himself in front of Aramao. He was dressed differently, but he could tell that it was the man from earlier that had offered to help him. The room remained silent as the young man continued to make himself comfortable. After a few minutes he spoke.
I see you're awake. The General will be coming into see you soon.
There was moment of awkward silence before the man said anything.
Eh-hem. My name is Sylaxea. It's in your best interest if you listen to everything he says. He doesn't take too kindly to disobedience, especially not from...
From what? A Zyndraca like me? I don't care who he is. No one is going to tell me what to do. Did you bring me to this place?! Aramao said as he interrupted Sylaxea's statement.
Sylaxea sighed and walked out of the room as the General opened the door. He gave Aramao one last stern look before walking out of the room completely.
The general was none too pleased at Aramao but it was told that he would be a useful addition to the Battalion. He repeated commanded Aramao to get ready for training, but he refused to cooperate.
Unfortunately, for his disobedience Aramao was taken into a room where it was obvious that some bad thing were happening. Before he knew it, he was pinned down and blind-folded. In an instant, Aramao screamed in searing pain until he could stand it no longer. He passed out and was taken to the infermery.
A few days later, Aramao stirred and sat up in his cot. What he noticed immediately was that his right arm was missing. Terrified at what had obviously happened, Aramao had called to see the general immediately.
When the general arrived, he was noticibly pleased at Aramao horrifed look. It was then that he told the general he was ready to start his training. The general simply smiled and walked away.
