Greetings. What, say, have you come in search of? Shelter? Food? A place to call your home? You won't find that here, in the midst of this warzone. But if you wish to fight with us, please, read on. Don't say I didn't give you a warning and plenty of time to turn back.
This is Caduta di Nerezza. A role-playing guild with the plot centered in post-apocalyptic London. War has ravaged the land, reducing the once fair city into a mere shadow of its former grandeur. The cause of the war? Refusal. Refusal by the humans to share their world with fantasy creatures, which were discovered to have once walked among them in secret. Now that war has come to an almost unwanted end by some. Yet others long for peace.
But how long can this fake version of peace ever reign? You must choice who you will side with. To go on to victory or the grave.
If you'd like to read up on our full plot, please go visit the plot & settings page. It should do a better job of explaining than the brief summary above. Role-playing asides, CdN is a fairly laid-back, friendly, and welcoming guild. We've been around for just over a year, and we hope to be here in future days as well. Even though CdN is established, we will always hear out new ideas. After all, we're constantly looking for a way to improve ourselves.
Our member cap is set at twenty, so please check to make sure we're still below twenty members before sending in your application. If we are currently at maximum capacity, then don't fret! We have member sweeps quite often, so you can join after one of those are completed. That is, if you're willing to wait.
Here you will find a list of our rules. We expect these to be followed, since this is really what is holding us together. Failing to obey these rules may result in either a warning or deletion. Some penalties for certain rules will be different from others. If you are warned up to three times and fail to adhere, you will be removed from our ranks. But don't let that frighten you! These rules aren't hard to follow.
+literacy. This is very important. We're literate to advanced, so our standards will be higher than a semi-literate guild. We expect and require you to be able to capitalize your sentences, use proper punctuation, and at least have some knowledge of proper grammar. This is especially vital for role-playing, whereas in OOC you're allowed to slack off a lot more. Of course, even the best of us make mistakes. That's just being human. All we ask is that you try your best. And remember, proof reading helps a lot.
+activity. Please try to be on often; an inactive guild is a dead guild. Sure, we all have lives, but at least come on three times a week. Alert us if you're going away for a long period of time by either Neomailing me (themastermango), putting a note on the calendar, or posting on the guild board. Doing all three is recommended since a post on the board can be easily forgotten. If you're missing for more than two weeks without notice you will be removed from the guild. However, if it is your first time being removed because of inactivity, you may rejoin, just so long you come on more from that point on.
Also, please try to post a message on the guild board within three days of joining or you risk being deleted.
+advertising. You're certainly welcomed, and encouraged, to advertise our guild! However, please don't go posting on every "guildless role-player" board you see. Make sure everyone you advertise to is at least literate. Also, read their first post(s)! Don't you get annoyed when you ask for a certain thing, then somebody posts the exact thing you said you didn't want? Same goes here. If they're asking for an animal role-play, nothing else besides that, then don't post! Don't use pre-made advertisements, either. Make it personalized, please!
+drama. Any sort of fighting with other members in CdN is simply not allowed, unless if you're just playing around. No one wants to come on and see two people fighting it out. If you have a problem with another member, please notify a council member. We will do our best to resolve any issues. If you really need to argue about something, please do it over Neomail.
+ignoring members. No one likes being ignored, right? If a member is asking a question, just saying hi, or asking for someone to role-play with, please try and respond. A member shouldn't have to post something a bunch of times before he or she finally receives an answer. If you're the one feeling ignored, please Neomail a council member and we'll try our best to make sure you don't feel left out anymore.
+spamming. Please do not spam the guild board. Avoid posting three times in a row unless absolutely necessary. However, when role-playing you may post as many times in a row as you need. Posting messages to simply up your post count, however, is not acceptable.
+OOC/BIC. When posting, please use some form of OOC or BIC. OOC stands for "out of character" and BIC stands for "back in character." This of course is standard role-play lingo. These just help to identify when you're role-playing and when you're not.
+post length. Here at CdN, we like to put a bit of thought into our role-play posts. Meaning we don't want to see any one-liners. Sure, we don't expect a novel either, but we require at least two quality paragraphs (ten sentences or more) to be posted per role-play post. That may sound like a lot at first, but it isn't really so difficult when the replies you're getting back are that length or longer.
+killing others characters. If you have consent from the role-player, you may take the life of their character. However, doing this without permission is not allowed under any circumstances. How would you like it if someone came up and stabbed your character through the chest, not having even asked if that was okay? You'd probably be upset and rightly so. Always ask first! You must receive their permission before killing, or even injuring, their character.
+PG-13. Keep things PG-13. No excessive violence, swearing, or describing in detail situations that are better left unmentioned. Neo is already pretty limiting, so I doubt this rule will be that hard to follow. This also goes for topics in OOC as well. What some people tend to forget is that this is generally a kids site and there may be young people in the guild.
+no god-modeling or power playing. Absolutely not; your character is not invincible, regardless of whether you want him or her to be. Your character cannot go into a battle and come out practically untouched, when your character's opponent may be injured to the point of death. Seriously, keep things realistic. As for power playing, no controlling the character of the person you are role-playing with unless it is extremely minor. They can have their character do whatever they want him or her to do. They don't need you to do it for them.
+no gary or mary sues. Whether or not you like it, your character is not perfect. He or she has character flaws, everybody does. What fun would there be in role-playing an absolutely flawless character, anyway? Please keep this in mind when writing your character's page.
+post subject titles. Okay, this isn't really a rule, but it's suggested. When role-playing, try to put your character's name in the title of the post and the name of the character you are role-playing with. Just for clarity and to keep things neat. It also helps when you're scanning through previous role-play posts; instead having to scan every role-play post for names of characters you can just look at the subject line.
For example, you could say "bic: Elizabeth and David" in the title which would make things so much more organized. No worries, nothing will happen if you don't do this, it is just suggested.
This is a list of positions you can receive if you work at it. Each had their own set of requirements that you must meet before you will be granted that rank. Begging for a rank will serve you nothing by just getting on my nerves. As for open spots on council, please don't ask for them. Those will be filled when we, the current council and I, decide the time is right. Want to be considered for council? Just try to help out as much as possible and be on a lot. That's the best I can tell you.
* PERSO. "lost" This is the guild's newbie rank. You get this upon joining. As of right now, you're new and really just seeing what the guild is all about.
* ERRANTE. "wandering" The rank after Perso. You're now starting to get your bearing, gotten to know some members, and even tried your hand at role-playing. You now have at least 100 posts. Nothing else is required to hit this rank besides post count.
* RICERCA. "searching" Would you look at that? You are now beginning to climb in the ranks. You now have at least 250 posts. To be ranked this you must also have recruited at least one member or done something else to benefit the guild.
* SCOPRIRE. "uncovering" Whoa, man! You're so awesome for being so loyal to the guild. You've now reached 500 posts and you've helped out a lot with advertising, supporting the guild with helpful ideas, or the like. You get some admin with this rank. Such as being able to delete posts.
* TROVATI. "found" You are now practically, like, an old geezer. Really, thanks for being so dedicated to the guild! You are definitely a senior member and you also have a lot of say in things as to what goes on in the guild. You have 750 posts or more and you've also gone above and beyond with helping out. Really, all I want to say is... thanks! You have earned this rank. You also receive full admin, which is a plus.
London is a shadow of its former glory. The streets are now covered in debris. The buildings are either knocked down or barely standing.
This isn't a home. This is a tomb.
The cause of all this? A war. A war that was between the humans and supernaturals. And although the humans were so much weaker than the fantasy creatures, they outnumbered them. Greatly.
But even so, it wasn't enough. Not until the humans brought in their secret weapon. The Protectors. These genetically altered humans could take away a fantasy being's powers for a short time.
Finally, after years of fighting, that war came to an end.
The humans had won.
But peace? That never came. And some believe it never will grace this land again.
The fantasy creatures are forced to follow strict rules. The Protectors now act as police, making sure to douse out any uprising before they can even ignite. The supernaturals carry around papers, stating who they are, what they are, and what powers they have. The Protectors go around asking for these papers. If anyone is found to not have one, they are punished. Many disappear off the streets.
But despite the humans' attempts to stop an uprising, one is forming.
The time to decide who you will support has come. To go on to victory or the grave.

Are you planning on going away from Neo for a bit, whether because of too much happening in real life or you just needing a break? That's perfectly understandable, but please inform us of it so you don't get deleted when member sweeps take place! You can just mail me (themastermango) when you'll be starting your hiatus and when you think you'll be back. If you're not sure about when you'll return, just say you don't know. Thanks!
User: Poem (wolf_at_heart__)
Start of Hiatus: 2/10/2012.
End of Hiatus: Summer.
Have a question? See if it's listed here! Also, don't be afraid to ask if you have a question that isn't here.
Q: Is there a character limit?
A: Nope! There isn't. But we don't recommend having a load of characters since it can get pretty troublesome. And we don't want you to only role-play your favorite characters while others are seldom role-played. Give all your charries some screen-time.
Q: How many members do you have?
A: CdN currently has ten members, not including two side accounts. Last updated: July 7th, 2012.
Q: How old is the guild?
A: Caduta di Nerezza was founded on March 9, 2011. We actually recently celebrated our first birthday!
Q: Has role-playing started?
A: Yes, it has. It began a few weeks after the guild was born, but re-started on September 3, 2011 due to a lapse of role-playing over the summer.
Q: Does your role play take place on Neo or off?
A: Our role play takes place here, on the guild boards. We know it's not the most convenient.
Really, you want to join? That's awesome! But first, we require an application that must be sent to one of the owners before you will be allowed to join. Before filling it out, make sure you read over this webbie and then send the app either me (themastermango) or Kara (itsnamine_x ). If you do not receive a reply within 24 hours, try mailing another one of us owners.
If you're caught joining before filling out this application, you will be deleted from the guild.
Here's a layout for your application page if you're too lazy to stick one up yourself. It's preferred if your page has a layout; makes things easier to read. However, it isn't required, just suggested. So here's one for use if you'd like. You by no means have to use this, you can use whatever layout you'd like... or not have one at all.
