{~OUR STORY~}

(This story is both Flower's and my story)

When we were very young, Papa and mama decided to move to Krawk Island so Papa could sell his goods (he was a merchant). We previously lived in Happy Valley. During our move, Mama became very sick. She was bedridden when we were all settled in, and Flower and I had to watch after her all the time because papa had to go work.

We were very scared for mama. She would occasionally groan, and stretch out her hands as if to grasp something that wasn't really there. Papa was very scared, and so were we. Shortly, we were able to afford to have a doctor come and see what was wrong with mama.

The doctor told us she had some form of serious disease, I can't remember what it was called. It was probably caused by the sudden change from our move, and the fact that mama always was in poor health. He suggested just to let her lie and sleep when she could.

A few weeks of just letting mama be, she died in the middle of the night. Nothing was different, when we came back to check on her, we noticed she wasn't breathing, and she had her arms reaching towards the sky.

Our papa, a good Aisha, was in denial. He would always come in and check on mama, talking to her like he always did. He would try to feed her some food, she'd just lay there, like a doll. Papa's behaviour became more obsessive, he would yell at us when we told him mama wouldn't wake up. He withdrew from selling his wares, and we had no money to spend on food. He was starving himself and us, and didn't even care.

Papa was scaring us, and Flower and I decided to run away as soon as we could.

So the next night, we snuck out of our bed room and ran away. Far away. We did fine by ourselves for a few months, because at home we had no one to take care of us.
We decided to catch a ride on a ferry to Mystery Island, to get away from Krawk Island's horrible memories. Of course we had no money, but Flower dealt with that in her own way.

She and I snuck in on the ferry leaving for Mystery Island, we were stowaways!

The trip on the ferry was risky, but Flower believed we would make it to Mystery Island in one piece, and we did.

Mystery Island was so different from Krawk Island, Mystery Island was much brighter, friendlier and much more welcoming. All the people there were nice, and both Flower and I loved the place istantly.

We had no money however. We would go and play the Tombola for the hope of winning food to eat, albeit gross. We had to find a place to stay, somehow.

One day we won enough Neopoints to go to the Tropical Foods hut, where they sold luxurious food from around the island. We purchased two large Azzle sauce dishes. It didn't taste like much, but it kept us fed.

For the next couple of days we had bad luck at the Tombola. We won nothing, not even boobie prizes. We still had our dignity, and had no intention of stealing, even thought hundreds of young Neopians did it anyway, and few were caught in the vast market place. We resorted to going to the beach and eating what we could find in the shells there.

One day, on our beach trip, few shells were on the sandy beach. We had to wade into the water and catch up whatever we found. I, however, went a little too far into the water, and unaware of my surroundings, was swept away by the current, farther out into the ocean.

When we lived on Krawk Island, papa never let us go to the beach, partly because he knew neither of us could swim, and he had no time to teach us. So I flailed about in the salty ocean, screaming at the the top of my lungs for someone to help me.

Flower paniced, and ran along the beach, calling for help as well.

Thankfully, our luck returned that day, and shortly after my screams for help, a tall, slender, silver Shoyru came running towards me. She dived into the water and swam with ease towards me. She grabbed me, and swam me back to shore. She had the speed of a professional swimmer.

On shore she calmed me and my sister down, and told us to be more careful next time.

You're lucky I came along when I did, or you would've most likely've drowned." she said, laughing a bit. Then she asked how I got swept away, and was shocked that we were orphans looking for food. She told us to follow her back to her house, and that we could live there if we wanted, but we'd had to share a room. Flower and I were delighted.

So, from that day on, we lived with Sasstet and Maud (who thankfully didn't mind us living with her, since Maud was really the one in charge of the house). It was a strange house, but we've made many good friends there c:

This is my papa (left) and mama (right). I miss them...so much. I wonder how papa is doing... when I was very little my mama taught me ikebana. She also sang beautifully, Papa always told me I got all of her traits.
