Stealthy :3

The forest drips and glows with green.
The tree-frog croaks his far off song.
His voice is stillness, moss and rain,
Drunk from forest ages long.

We cannot understand that call,
Unless we move into his dream,
Where all is one and one is all,
Frog and python are the same.

We with our quick dividing eyes,
Measure, distinguish, and are gone.
The forest burns, the tree frog dies,
Yes one is all and all are one.

-Judith Wright

The wind whispers through the dark trees. The sun is blocked by the forest canopy, dimming down the light. The forest isn't what an educated man would call enchanted, just...special. Unprepared, you wouldn't last half a day, despite it's quant appearence. Other than the stray doglefox and beekadoodle, this forest is home to another. Nobody knows where the story started, or even exactly what it's about, but it has been repeated through countless generations.

.:| Story |:.

Although my life has transformed into a mere faerie tale, much of it is true, believe it or not. I am here to tell you the real story, however fantastic it may seem.

I don't remember my mother or father, or even much of my life outside of this forest, for that matter. I can recall pipe music, an uneasy excitement, and a far off place...

I lived on a far off planet, further away than Kreludor, past the stars and even past that. It was an extremely advanced planet. In stead of cars, you had a spacecraft, and instead of e-mail, there was hologram image. I was obviously young at the time, so I don't remember much. All I do recall is a low rumbling, and fire falling from the sky. What I know now is that the planet was old, and eventually collapsed. I and my family somehow escaped amid the confusion and panic, and shot out on no specific coarse out of the vicinity.

We entered dead space, and in time, our emergency supplies vanished. We went for another three days, and then out scanners detected a nearby inhabbitable planet with one moon. It looked mostly water, but there was quite a bit of solid ground for a landing attempt.

And that's just what it was, simply a landing attempt. We landed, all right, but the heat from the explosion had grazed our leveling flaps, and we took the crash nose first, digging a deep rut into the forest floor. I'm sorry to say that nobody else survived...either that or they abandoned the wreck before I woke up. Most likely the first.

A few of the villagers had seen the wreck as it was coming into the forest from the sky. They gathered around it as I came out. Something in the forest air strengthened me, and I stood up. One of them blurted out something about aliens, and brandished an odd weapon. I got scared, and dashed off at a surprising speed. Something about this planet's air was significantly thinner. I hid out in a cave I found, and after that, discovered many more abilities that my home planet held back, but this new one set free.

I was alarmingly fast, and something in the air gave me an energy like I had never had before. Everything in my head became clearer, I could concentrate harder. I healed quickly, and in a week I ventured out of the forest's borders and into the village. I think some people recognized me as 'the alien', but didn't say anything.

I went to a nearby inn, to see if I could get a room. I couldn't because I didn't have the kind of money that they used. Someone in the tavern recognized me, and chased me out of the village. I continued living in the cave, although my changes had made it much better. About a day passed, and the villagers came looking for me, trying to kill me. They didn't know that I was just like them. I moved my home deeper into the forest...and then deeper...then so deep that they didn't follow me any more.

And here I am to this day. I protect the forest, and in in turn, I live here in relative peace. I've tried repairing my spacecraft a few times, b ut this place just doesn't have what I need to finish the job. I'm now what people on this planet would call superhuman...and I guess I am, if I may be so bold. I live in perfect tune with the forest, will help anyone in it that needs help, and will deal justice to the villians that enter.

.:| Pyro |:.

Although generally associated with the Haunted Woods, baby fireballs are one of the pets companion petpets that I've come across in my life. Pyro, as well as most others of his kind, doesn't speak, but somehow I always know what he's saying. I found him a few years ago when I spotted an orange glow in the forest. I thought it was someone's camp fire, but I was only half right. He followed me back to my home, and we've been the best of friends. He usually stays in the cave, or near it, but occasionally he'll follow me about when I'm out at night. I'm glad I've got a shelter, for one of two reasons. One, it keeps the elements off my back, and two, it allows me to keep a fire petpet without any fear of rainstorms. If I figure out a way to get a green paintbrush, I'll use it on him so he's not quite so conspicious.
