Welcome! This is a guide on how to make screenies. So if you want to make screenies, go ahead and start!
Taking A Screenie
On your right hand side, next to the F12 button, there's a button that says prt scr sysrq. Press that button that says prt scr sysrq once or twice. There! You've taken a screenie.
The Screenie On Paint
First you open up paint. Then on the top where it says edit, click on edit. Then click on paste. Your screenie should show up. To get rid of all that unwanted space, click on a button that looks like this:
Make a box around the unwanted area with the cursor and right click inside the box. A little drop down list should show up like this:
Click on cut. That should get rid of the unwanted area that was inside the box. Continue doing this until all the unwanted space is gone. That is called cropping. Before you save, if you don't want all that paint work area to show up with your screenie, click on the button that I have shown you above, and make a box around your screenie. Right click the box and click on cut. Now at the very bottom right hand edge of your paint, there's a small blue box in the bottom right hand corner. It looks like this (the box the arrow's pointing to):
Put your cursor over the box until you see a black cursor with an arrow on each side. The cursor should look like this (Yes I know. It is badly drawn):
With that two sided arrow, pull the arrow upwards so that your paint area looks really small like this:
Now go to edit then click on paste. Your screenie should have taken up the space. Now you're ready to save! When you are going to save your screenie, go to file and click on save as. A pop up should come up..Towards the bottom, there's a drop down list. The drop down list looks like this. (the one I circled):
Make sure you save your screenie with a .gif,.jpg extension, or you can use .png. I prefer .png. If you use .gif, your screenie will lose color, if you use .jpg, it looks a little blurry.
Putting The Screenie On A Page
Go to www.photobucket.com and create an account (you may use any other image hosting website too) if you don't already have one. When you get to the photobucket website it should look like this (the picture won't always be the same):
Once your account is created, log into your account. Where it says add picture, click on browse. Find the file on your computer and double click on it or you could click it once and press open. The file address should show up in the blank text area between Picture and Browse. Click on Submit. Scroll down the page a bit and you should see your image within a box. Below your image, there is an area that says Tag. It should look something like this, except it has your image in it:
Highlight whatever is in that tag and copy and paste it where ever you want your screenie to be.
Your screenie should show up where ever you put it. If your screenie shows up, congrats on your screenie. If your screenie doesn't show up, read back and see where you went wrong.
