The more things change, the more they remain... insane.

I was an experiment of Dr. Sloth. He tried to make the perfect battler when he raged war on Neopia. I kinda' got out of that problem. I used to be all white but then his experiments gave me this green glowy fur. I don't mind, I like green, but people used to get all sick if they touched the green parts. It's worn off by now so you can stop looking all worried. At first only the Monarch Butterflies would play with me. They didn't care about the whole fur thingy, it doesn't hurt them. I still love to play with them today.

My green fur can be found on the tips of my neck fur, three stripes on my left front leg, two lines under each eye, and an 'X' pattern of my left leg.

Story

It was so long ago. I try to forget, but somehow it's a part of me. My mind won't let me forget my past. It was cold and bleak. I lived in a white room most of my life. It was small and it hurt. The plain walls were un-forgiving and seemed to constantly close in on me. I was small and white and I tended to disappear in the room.

I was packed in with a few other neopets. We had no idea why we were in the room. The people who came to feed us told us so little. It left us to gossip amongst ourselves. From what I understood we were being used by a Dr. Frank Sloth. I could tell because the workers who came in always pretended to play games with us. I, however, could see though them. They were testing us.

One particular day my one friend went missing. Although we were in a room together there was an unspoken rule that we couldn't talk with one another. Friendships were hard to come by. For the next few days I spent my time trying to find him, but I couldn't. When I asked a worker what happened, the worker simply stared at me and told me that he couldn't tell me. I was unaware that I was next.

A few days latter a worker came in like always. He smiled at me and said that he wanted to play a game with me. He gently put a rope along my neck to take me in the other room. The room was as black as my room had been white. It was dark and scary. I started to get nervous.

Sensing my fear, the worker hugged me and said, "Don't be afraid little NO.902.60."

I could not help but be afraid. He walked me to the center of the room and tied me down. The worker then left the room. I walked as far as my rope leash would let me. I tried to see what was around in the room. Then, I heard a small humming sound. I turned around to find a greenish light looking back at me. It startled me. I turned and tried to get away, but I was tied down. As the light started to hit me the rope snapped. I was free.

The worker walked in. He wasn't very happy. He put a new rope on me and led me back to the white room. For the first time in my life I felt safe in the white room.

I spent the next few days just staring at the wall. I had odd green marking that I hadn't had before. They frightened me.

A worker came in and explained what happened. I knew most of it already. We were lab rats that be longed to Dr. Sloth. He was trying to make the perfect battle pet. It was explained to me that I was now poisonous. The patches of green fur would make someone sick if they touched me. Apparently they also trained us here to be work well in battle. I suppose that's what the games were for.

I couldn't bear to hear any more. I tried to get up. The workers tried to get me down. I looked in there faces and saw a kind of fear. It's a look I'll never forget. I slowly pushed my way though them and then without warning, I bolted.

After awhile I made it to the meadow near the lab. It was peaceful here. I still live here today. At first I was completely alone. Then I made friends with the butterflies. They were always friendly to me. There poison was similar to mine so I couldn't hurt them. After living such along time in solitude only to have my only friend be taken away, I was used to solitude. That's never quite changed.
