My World: Before
My world before I was adopted by my owner, marahsmary, was a whrilwind of strange events. I remember, way far back, in Meridell, I was in a forest, where I lived in a hollow log, along with my brothers and sisters. We were into our third week of life, and we were all wondering why Baby Princess was different. She was a Kougra, and we were all Lupes. It was odd, for my mother and belated father were both Lupes. When we barked, she would meow. Strange indeed. We just couldn't figure it out. Anyway, one morning, a Light Faerie was watching us all chase each other in a clearing. She fluttered around, until mother howled, signaling us that danger was nearby. My brothers ran the fastest and were safe in the log. Everyone was soon in the log besides Baby Princess and I. We found ourselves in giant bubbles, and we floated and floated. The faerie flew behind us. I looked all around. It sure was exciting! Baby Princess wasn't enjoying the ride as much as I was, though. She was closing her eyes tight and trying not to feel the wind blowing at her bubble. We arrived upon a strange cloud and the bubbles burst. "Welcome to the Faerieland Port Of Entry," a Faerie Blumaroo greeted us. I rolled around on the c loud. It was so soft, just like marshmallows. I decided that if it felt like a marshmallow, maybe it tasted like one too. I chomped on it. Gross! It tasted like cotton! That faerie arrived up on the cloud. "Hi Ginny!" the Blumaroo greeted her. The faerie nodded and waved. She grabbed Baby Princess and I, and took us to a castle. It was rather large, with towers and a giant front door. We went inside and there were so many people rushing around. I saw looked up and saw Christmas Zafaras flying, sprinkling glitter about. One of them was smaller than the others. She swept down toward me. "Hello," she squealed timidly. "Hi!" I answered. "Nice to meet you! Where are we?" "You're in the great Fyora's Castle!" she said grandly. Then, the Zafaras called for her and she flew back up, sprinkling glitter at others. Then, we walked through another set of doors, where there was only one person, a faerie. "Hello Fyora!" the light Faerie said to the one faerie. "Ah, Ginny, you brought Those Chosen?" Fyora said airily. "Yes," Ginny replied. She sat my sister and I on a big pillow, then walked out. Then, Fyora looked at us. "Yes, this is perfect," she said to herself. Baby Princess looked up. "Oh, you're darling!" Fyora exclaimed, picking up Baby Princess. She sat her on the bed. I sat patiently, knowing I wouldn't get as much attention as Baby Princess. "Oh, and aren't you the humble one?" Fyora squealed at me. She picked me up as well, then sat me on the bed. "Listeb, Chosens," Fyora began. I was confused. I thought my name was Baby Angel. Oh well. "Chosens, you must understand, you have a big responsibility. Ginny brought you here so I could examine you, and one day one of you would rule Faerieland when I retire!" Baby Princess' eyes widened. "Really? Rule Faerieland?" she asked. "Yes," Fyora answered. She went on to explain that we were chosen to live in Faerieland happily, and we'd rule the kingdom together. That isn't how it was in the end...
Later.....
Fyora had taken a huge liking to Baby Princess because of her intrest in ruling the kingdom, and her girlyness. I was humble, and I had different plans than the ones Fyora and my sister had for Faerieland. My sister had wanted a giant painting of herself, a Baby Kougra, at the entrance of the castle. I just wanted peace. Well, I was getting at least a tiny, rather ignored say in things, when all of a sudden the guards took me from my bed one night and i found myself in the servants quarters! I always tried to help the servants by doing my share; I'd clean my own messes up, for instance, and I'd help them out a little too! And now I was considered one. "Why am I here?" I yawned. "You set free one of the servants, so now you're taking their place," the guard said. "Yes, I set one free, but Matilda was starving, and underpaid!" I argued. "Fyora says rules are rules. Enjoy being a servant!" the guard cackled as he walked off. What was I to do? I didn;t know, but i just decided to sleep. I found my bed. It was a really old mattress with a thin sheet and a straw pillow. Great.
I mangaed to get by that night and more to come, but I'll never forget my first morning as a servant. I woke up, and then I went to my wardrobe to find what i was wearing as a servant. All the outfits were the same-- plain tan dresses with frayed ends and an apron. There were many patches and rips in my dress, and many stains on my apron. I followed some of the servants in my quarter outside. They were looking at a paper tacked to the outside of our wooden quarters. "Today we're out in the fields!" a brown Usul declared. I followed them out to the fields. The cloud ground was black that the plants grew out of. "Today we're picking strawberries!" The servant Director said, settling down in his chair. We picked and picked in the hot sun as the director sat in the shade, watching TV with an ice cold lemonade. People kept fainting from the heat, and I watched. Every time someone did, the director would get up and get some water and pour it on them. "Get back to work!" he would bark, settling back into his chair. After three straight hours of picking, I got dizzy. The world spun around, and then, rather quickly, everything went black. I felt something wet, and I slowly got to my feet. "Get back to work!" the director yelled. I kept picking until my pail was full. Then I had to empty it in the big container. I walked over to it and threw them in. By the time I got back, it was 5:00. Then, someone screamed. " C-COBRALL!!!!!" they screamed. We ran over to the director. "No big deal," he said heartlessly, "Just ignore it." So we tried to, even as it slithered over out feet. Then, another person screamed with pain. The cobrall had bit her. "Alrighty, we're a-headin' in." He said, taking the bitten Kougra to the Servant First Aid. We went back to our quarters. i lay down on my bed as the others talked. "That was an easy day!" they were all saying. I wondered what a hard day was like. An hour later, the director came in. "Lights Out!" He barked, turning out the light. I got up to find my pajamas. In my wardrobe, I felt around and found them. A white dress. I put it on and went over to my bed. I fell asleep quickly, being tired.
I endured many more weeks of this servant life. Eating the burnt breakfast, working all day, then going to sleep. The same thing every day. Sometimes I would clean indoors, others I'd cook, and I'd work on the field when I wasn't very lucky. One day I was to clean indoors. I gratefully rushed in to the castle. I was given the job of cleaning the princess's room. Oh no! The Princess? That meant Baby Princess, I was sure. I walked up the stairs to find Baby Princess's room. There it was. I opened the door to find her in there, sitting on a chair. "Clean this room, servant! Chop chop!" she ordered. I reluctantly began to mop the tile in her bathroom. I cleaned the sink, replaced her empty shampoo bottle, and gave her a new toothbrush. I dusted a portrait of her above her bed, and gave her new bedsheets as well. I swept up her balcony, and I went back inside to remove a stain from her carpet. "All finished!" I said. She stared as I grabbed my cleaning supplies and left. Then, as I walked downstairs, she called after me, "You're now the permanent cleaner of my room!" I was shocked. Now I didn't have to work in the fields or cook anymore! I'd be moving into different living quarters, because I was now a maid. I walked back to the old wooden quarters that I had called home for quite a while now. I said my goodbyes, and then I left toward the castle. I got there soon and climbed two sets of stairs. And there were the words imprinted on a door, "Maid's Quarter's" very neatly. I opened the door and found a room decorated entirely in pink. There were two doors on the left and the right sides of the room. Their signs read, "Level 1 Maids, Level 2, Level 3, and Level 4." And there was a hall in front of me which I decided to explore. I saw some "Beginner" door signs on my way. At the end of the hall, I found a door labled, "Princess Cleaner." That was mine! I opened the door. The room was bigger than my old shared servant room, and it was also decorated in pink.
However, I could not believe what I was to wear as I cleaned.
Yes, a Pink Grass Skirt. PINK! That'd be awful. I opened my door to find other maids walking around in uniform. Their skirts on, they walked into their rooms and out. Some with cleaning supplies, others just walking around. I saw a group of Usuls chatting, and a Blue Eyrie sitting all alone. I went up to her. "Hi!" I said. The Eyrie mumbled, "Hello," but seemed sad. "Why are you sad?" I asked. "I don't wanna be a maid," she sniffled. I told her all about servant life, and she seemed happier. "Well, I was from the village, and then Baby Princess ordered me to report to the maids, and I was turned into one." I nodded sympathetically. But soon, I was dragged off to clean Baby Princess' room. I sighed as I sweeped under the bed and dusted the pink feather pillows. Baby Princess walked in, and it hit me. Baby Princess was my sister! As she ordered me around, I just stared.
You're... my sister!" I said.
No, you are not. Now finish cleaning!" Baby Princess screeched.
But day by day, as I cleaned, I convinced her a little more, by telling her childhood memories, and soon, she was fully assured that I was her sister.
This was by horseback444! I will cherish it forever!!!! THANK YOU!!!!
