KeyQuest may be out of beta, but disconnects are still to be expected and there is likely to be the odd glitch and of course the lag/anti-lag many get. Neopian Pound 2.0

Where do I post for pet adoptions, etc? Use the New Pound Board, here. Posting them anywhere else will be considered spam. I'm applying to adopt a neopet from X. They asked for an application, what does this mean? erm, having never made one I don't know, I'll lookout for some guides on them :) The owner of a pet I want asked for a petpage application, what is that? Dont need to worry about that, they shouldn't have asked *pokes italics*. You can make one, but the owner can not ask you make one. (NTE 342): During a discussion over a deliciously large bowl of Jelly Bellies we have decided that extreme pet applications will no longer be tolerated on the site. What we mean by extreme includes requests for Petpages to be made for the Neopet as part of the application, the owner of the Neopet being refunded or gifted in any way to compensate for the "raising" of the Neopet, or anything beyond a standard application. If the owner wants you to write an little essay about why you would be a good choice, that is fine. (We encourage everyone to use their writing skills!) But going off the deep end of attempting to find a good owner for your Neopet to forcing people through hoops to boost your ego and making it a competition will no longer be welcome on the site. How come none of the pets in the pound have clothes on? If you select abandon then all items are removed back to your closet, the only thing that stays with the pet is its petpet. All customize & battledome equipment is removed. This INCLUDES all deluxe items like the usul bow and royal robes. The new owner has to paint them again to get the clothes. Why?! Because it was the only fair way. When customize first started people started adopting pets and taking the deluxe items off before re-pounding them. It wont let me pound/transfer my pet, I get some message about beta. What is that? You need to take its petpet away. Pile of Soot causes this. I clicked the abandon button but it didn't work. Why? TNT made it so you must click 5 times. This stops you accidentally pounding a pet. How much to adopt a level...? Jellyneo has a calculator for this, you'll find it on the goodies menu ;) How come I never see a Lutari or Ice Bori in the pound? Lutari have a massive phobia of the pound and run away if abandoned. The Ice Bori is a special pet, given exclusively to those who downloaded the first Neopets toolbar. You will not get one for downloading it now. :( Why can't I see any good pets? Either there aren't any in the pound, which is not unknown, or your account is under 4 months. If you are under 4 months you can only adopt Basic pets in Checkered, Blue, Brown, Glowing, Green, Invisible, Orange, Pink, Purple, Red, Shadow, Silver, Skunk, Speckled, Split, White or Yellow and level 1 or 2. Basic means its always in create a pet. The pound wont show you what you can't adopt because of age. You will also find you cannot receive by transfer such pets while under 4months. Can I transfer a Lutari or Ice Bori? What about unconverted pets? Yes for Ice Bori, however Lutari fear the Robot Hissi too :( Unconverted pets do not get converted by the pound, no matter if you use transfer or abandon. The new owner however will have the option of converting them, if they take it, its converted permanently. You keep mentioning transfer. What is that? Transfer is a new way to pound/adopt. You get to chose who the pet goes to, and what its wearing, with the exception of NC mall items, will go with it (yes that means deluxe items go, if its wearing them). Transferring a pet no longer preserves the petpage. So make a backup if you don't want it lost! You will find the pet's battledome equipment in your inventory after its sent as this cannot go with it. Transfer does not preserve fishing skill :( How often can you use transfer? You can receive one pet and send one each month. It resets on the change of the month. (do tell me if it doesn't) If you send a pet and it gets rejected by the recipient then you will have to wait till next month to use transfer again. If the recipient fails to accept in 3 days the pet automatically returns to you - you will likely get a neomail from the TNT account or just an event. During the time the transfer is pending you will be unable to create, adopt or receive a transfer if it would fill your 4th slot. Once it goes through these will unlock again. If I lend my pet to someone for an avatar can they send it back right away? No, you have to wait for a day after a transfer before the pet can be transferred again. Assuming the account has a outbound transfer left for the month. I used my transfer for this month, how do I send another pet? You don't. You either wait till next month or risk it getting adopted by someone else as it travels through the pound. Can't I just use the QAL to get it at the other account? & What is QAL? QAL is "Quick Adopt Link". In the old pound it allowed you to jump right to the adopt page for a pet in the pound. But the new pound has been rebuild from the ground up, it doesn't use this any more. If you try using it you are likely to lost the pet when you just get the Opps!. There isn't a new one either. The closest we have to it now is a QASL (Quick Adopt Search Link). It will take you to the search results for that name. http://www.neopets.com/pound/adopt.phtml?search=PETNAME Are Adoption Agencies allowed? Yes, there are lots of them in fact. Remember they cannot charge for having your pet listed. Can I have your [INSERT PET]? NO. Don't ask anyone this either, begging for pets is not allowed and some may even report you for it. If they say their pet is Up For Adoption then check what they want you to do about contacting them. PLEASE!! I'll give you... X.x That IS reportable. You cannot buy, sell or trade pets for NP, items, etc. And NO charging just because it has clothing on either! What about a direct trade for another pet? This is allowed *pokes NTE 342* but only as a direct trade, 1:1, no other items, code (like HTML stuff), NP, etc can be involved. Failing to abide by an agreement for trade of pets will get you frozen! Zaphod recommends you use the exchange system, just set up a transfer as you would normally but before sending check the exchange option. This will send both pets at the same time so you can't be tricked. I adopted X out of the pound, now someone neomails claiming its theirs. Do I have to give it back? Nope. Its your pet now :). If they say they accidentally pounded it, *pokes pound Q&A #4* If they say someone else did it to the pet, point them to pin preferences - you can block pounding & email changes with a pin :) I have access to the Secret lab. Can I adopt pets, zap them until I get a good change them pound then or put them UFA? Yes :), Many people do this to help the pets get adopted. Petpet Lab Map/Ray & Secret Lab Map/Pet Ray

I can't get the petpet map to work, why? Do you have the secret lab? You need to assemble it first How much does the full map cost? Petpet: 10k (10,000) tops Secret: 600K - 900k (600,000 - 900,000) How Many pieces is there? 9 How often can you use them? Once assembled you get one zap per day per account. Will a Petpet stay as it is when taken from a pet? To prevent people making lots of NP from the petpet ray TNT made all petpets return to their original form once removed from a pet. Help! My pet was turned robot & now it was turned -insert color-, so why is it still robot? Short answer: customize Slightly longer one: the robot shell/casing is now clothing & will have stayed on your pet when it was turned a different colour, if you want it to look normal go to customize & take it off. For more on this see the customize section Any avatars for the labs? Yes, they each have an avatar. You get the secret lab one when you get your first species change. The petpet one is awarded whey you have a ray hiccup & the poor petpet become a pile of soot - note: a pet can not be pounded with a pile of soot as a petpet. My pet is sick/ill, what do I do? Where can I get... ...to cure my pet? I don't have the NP for... ...What do I do?

These things happen. What you do is go to the healing Springs in Faerieland. You try every 30 mins until cured of illness, and best of all, its free! It didn't work, any other ways? Yes, remember all those poison jellies, lollies, etc & rotten foods you might have in your SDB? Well a pet can get a different illness while ill, this auto cures the original, so if you feed your pet these foods it could well get an illness that is cheaper to cure. Where do I go to find out what will cure...? The Hospital in the plaza. It will tell you what cures a disease. Note: some other items can cure illnesses, for example, the heated blanket can cure neophobia (fear of outside). My pet is bloated & refuses to eat any more, what can I do? The only cure for this is time. Can Neopets die? No, they can't. It would be to upsetting for younger users if they did.

Lutari Talisman, beads & Neopets mobile

What do the beads do? So far they are known to randomly affect site shop prices, np scores from games & random events How do I get onto Lutari Island You can't. TNT ended Neopets Mobile on June 30th, 2009. No one can currently get to the island. How do you get beads? Rare REs & buy them in auctions or at the trading post How do you get a lutari? Secret Lab ray is now the only way to be sure of, they have been released on Lutari day before though. If you pound a lutari it will run away, that's why you don't get them there. NO Morphing potions exist for lutari.

Sidebars/Site Themes

What are Site Themes? See the banners at the top and bottom of every page (except petpages & pages with it coded out), that are probably yellow for you, that is a Theme, more specifically Neopets Basic. How do I get them? Well, you already have 5: basic, yellow(slightly more yellow than basic), red, blue & green. Everyone has these 5 now, no-matter how old your account is. You can also earn some special ones: Altador Constelations, Altador Cup, Purple Theme, Valentines Theme, Winter/Christmas & Haunted Woods. Altador Constellations: Complete the Altador Plot Guide1 Guide2 Guide3 Altador Cup: Released to those that participated in the first Altador Cup, its expected that it will be relesed again to those who did AC2 Purple: View the lookup of any purple pet that has a purple Petpet. Rainbow Fountain & Fountain Faerie Quests

What does the fountain do? Lets you paint your pet almost any colour, including some of the lab ones. Why does it never work? You need to get and complete a rare random event quest from the fountain faerie before it works. Have you got a quest from her? Note the blue streaks in her hair if you are unsure wither it was her or the water faerie. OMG! I got a quest from her!! What now, she wont let me search for it. First, congads, I still haven't had one :( Start at the Quest Board If no-one on there helps you then try the Help Board If you include 'FFQ' in the title it may help attract the help you need. You may need to check out the Making Np section to complete this quest, she's known to ask for very expensive items, though they tend to cost less than some paint brushes. How long can I wait to use the fountain? There is no limit on it but bear in mind it will be reset if you get another quest from her. Rainbow Fountain FAQ

Adverts - Reporting Inappropriate ads and removing them!

There is an advert with.... It shouldn't be on this sort of site You can report inappropriate adverts by email (yes email - you need to send attachments), use this Neopets FAQ page when sending. There is this advert covering part of the page If its a roll-over ad it will have a close button on it somewhere. If its an advert that has escaped the set areas, report it (see above). This advert closed neopets and launched a new window, its saying something about bad computer stuff. & Pop-ups Use Ctrl-Alt-Delete to close it - some have been known to reporgram the close button. Update your Anti-virus, and so on and scan the computer. If you've figured out which advert is triggering it, then report it. Eh.. I dont have anti-virus, firewall, anti-spyware Silly you, get some, AVG does a rather good free one for anti-virus & -spyware and there are good firewalls available free too. Removing the adverts :) You have several options here. You could get Neopets Premium (ask on the Neopets Help Board for a referral) but that costs. Another way, is to get Firefox. Firefox has a similar interface to Internet Explorer, but it has better security and the Add-ons allow for lots of additional functions. You can easily import all your favourites, etc from IE (file - import). After installing Firefox, go to Bookmarks - Mozilla Firefox - Customize Firefox. From there go to Addons and Search 'AdBlock Plus'. ABP will REMOVE, not just hide, most of the Neopets adverts, and adverts on other sites. There is also a few Neopets specific filters you may find of use (@@ is exceptions). You can add them by clicking the arrow next to the ABP logo near the address bar and going to preferences. #div(ad_wrapper_fixed) #div(ad_wrapper) #div(ban_bottom) [if you have neopets.com###ban_bottom you don't need this] ##.brand-mamabar [this removes that nick bar at the top on Neo & PetpetPark] @@http://images.neopets.com/sponsors/* @@http://images.neopets.com/items/* http://images.neopets.com/adslug_728.gif neopets.com###ban The last one may appear in ABP by default, disabling it will restore the full height header and the links if you are experiencing that glitch. Customize, Clothes & the NC Mall

This is so you can put clothes on your neopets Its not working for me Have you updated the flash plug in? You need to have the latest update. Look at the Url, if it ends flashtest=failed then this is definitely the problem. What clothes are there? Many, though not all species/colours have them yet. See the clothing guides at this sections end. How do you know if an item can be worn? Obviously not a reader of the Neopian Times Editorial then. So here is the extract from the NT issued the Friday things changed. If an item is wearable, it will be flagged as such anywhere it is presented, with the word "wearable" underneath it. Inventory, site shops, user shops, etc. You'll be able to tell at a glance that it's an item you can use with your Neopet. (At least, with A Neopet... some items are only usable by certain species!) Along those same lines, we are currently in the process of building a "Dressing Room" of sorts. Basically, this will be a feature that allows you to try on items BEFORE you buy them. This way, you'll know exactly what you're getting and how it will look before you buy it. This feature may not be available in site shops because we don't want to hinder restocking, but it will probably be available everywhere else or have its own area where you can go and try things on. We're still working on it. :) NT issue 289, Editorial. Inventory Items are in little grey boxes but wearables are in blue boxes, this is to make them easier to spot. We are still waiting on the Dressing Room but you can see many items modelled by pets in the Jellyneo Item Database :D More are added all the time. What happens if my pets colour/species changes, do I lose the clothes from that colour? Short answer is no, longer one was in the Neopian Times Editorial, you really ought to read it each Friday/week. (altered slightly) Any colour your Neopet gets zapped (or painted) into a colour that has a clothing item associated with it, you get to keep. If your Neopet is zapped into a different species, the items will be removed from your Neopet but they will remain in your closet to use in the future (in case you ever have another Neopet of that species). NT issue 290, Editorial Where do you get the "deluxe paint brush set" clothes? Does your Neopet have to be painted that colour? If so, why do I see Neopets with Mystery Island AND royal accessories? You got it! For a Neopet to get a "deluxe paint brush set" of items, they need to be painted/zapped into the colour that provides it. Neopets that are wearing items from different sets, like Mystery Island and royal, are lucky Neopets whose owners have painted them both colours in order to make their outfit. Changing the colour of the Neopet does not make items from a previous colour disappear. NT issue 297, Editorial What a great excuse for lab pets! Pets that are pounded will have ALL clothing removed, even if they appear to have it still. Pets that are transferred will automatically only take NP items they are wearing and the deluxe items for their current colour. The clothes don't show in customize! First change species & zone to all, if they still don't show then you may have them in your inventory. They go in the closet (where Random Events cant get at them), if its a wearable the option to put into closet will appear in the menu of the item window. How do you get items out the closet? See the Jump to links in your inventory? the first is the closet, go there. Note: you cant take out clothes from pet colour - they are not sellable to keep pet colour a thing to strive for. I see no backgrounds? & How do you get bgs? Mystical Surroundings -- Ever Stocked General Store Whats this NC Mall? The NC Mall is a special feature like Neopets Premium or Mobile, you pay to get extra/certian things. Is it ok to ask for donations?

No, against the rules as some will consider it begging, even if you say you aren't begging. You might get away with it in your shop. Don't try using your Neosig either If you see someone giving/asking for items be suspicious, it could be a scam. Asking for someone's pet is also considered begging. If you want to borrow an avatar item from someone you are going to need to have something(s) of greater or equal value to give them for the time you need the item, i.e. collateral, if you want a definition I suggest you look it up in a dictionary.

How do I increase my pets stats?

Health (Max HP) Train Endurance The others should be obvious -------------- Intelligence Read them books or do the faerie crossword, here Guide Fishing skill Go fishing, fishing guide here Krawk Island Academy, Pay with Dubloons from user shops/trades/auctions or Random Evens or Colzans Shrine Mystery Island Training School, Pay with tan codestones from shops/trade/auction & Random Event You can also get dubloons & codestones as prizes/freebies from certain things on neopets. What's a red codestone for? That is for where you train your pet once its beyond L250. If your pet is there & you want to train it at the Secret Ninja Training School, then go to mystery island & click on the cave at the base of Techno Mountain. You may need to look hard to spot it. If your pet is not at level 250, then either sell it or keep it in your SDB

When & Where did...die? & other Brain Tree Quests

These must be done by completing 2 Esophagor Quests. The Brain Tree wont accept answers unless you have got them from the Esophagor.

Someone asked for my pw &/or pin what should I do?

Report anyone that asks for pw/pin. Not even TNT would ask for it. If they say they need it to apply a layout... REPORT. Layout codes can be passed thru text boxes on pet pages, like the one near the bottom of this page. Other scams to watch out for: free paint brushes - some users send you items out of the blue but never such an expensive item. Asking for an adopted pet - once adopted, the pet is yours. If you feel guilty ask them to prove it, but don't wait long for them to supply the scrennies/images. Asking you to give them lots of NP by bidding on a junk trade - you wont get what they said they'd send. Websites offering items - these may use cookie grabbers to get your account or they may be even more malicious. In particular avoid & report any geocity &/or freewebs sites. A trade that calls an item by a different name - recent example is, someone trading rubber ducks, claiming they were battle ducks. Any trade like this should be reported. Offering you an account - this is an attempt to get your accounts pw by hoping you change the accounts pw to the same as yours. It is against the rules to give or receive accounts. Asking for your email - NEVER give anyone your email - code can be sent using a petpage. Some will use it to fake an email from TNT - all official mail comes from @neopets.com or @support.neopets.com and they NEVER ask for your pw, or they may try to crack the pw on it to gain access to all you neopets accounts. Also remember you can not sell pets for items or NP Tips Against Scams -- Defend against Fake Logins & Cookie Grabbers -- JubiNumo Real or Plushie? -- AAs & Cookie Grabbers

What is Adam's/Donna's Username?

Adam is borovan, yes that is 5 pets you see & the last seen changes every time you load the page. Donna, that's just Donna, yes her last seen changes too. Don't bother trying to neomail/neofriend them, its disabled & you'll get a suitable message for your attempt.
