STORY!!!
I was born in the Haunted Woods a long time ago (Thus, being Mutant). My owners knew I was different right away. I was quiet, and shy, and I was a different color than the rest of the mutants. I also loved nature; I would sit in the forest for hours without being bored, while other mutants would like to destroy it. I had very few friends, because most mutants couldn't understand me, and didn't enjoy the things I did. But the friends I did have, knew everything about me, and understood why I did things. Well, one day I woke up, and I couldn't speak. Before I just chose not to speak, but now I couldn't! The doctors came, but no one knew why I was mute. My friends did though, but nobody believed them. They thought I only became mute, because I made myself mute. I never had a need to speak, I only enjoyed the company of friends where we communicated by nature. Soon after that morning, I was abandoned. My family didn't know how to take care of me, or how to talk to me. But, instead of putting me in the dreadful pound, they just left me outdoors. They knew I could protect myself, feed myself, and that I would be a lot happier. Well, one day, while I was sitting in the forest, a lone Earth Faerie found me. I could sense her behind me, and that she felt pity for me. I sat and waited for her do something. She came up, and whispered in my ear she could make me happy. The next second, I realized I could talk again, but not with my mouth, but with my mind. My new power not only let me talk to pets and humans, but to nature itself! I could sense the trees growing all around me. Now, having almost all the powers of a Faerie, I grew wings. Beautiful white feathered wings that were not too large, but let me fly without trouble. When I looked down, the Faerie was gone. Now being able to fly, I abandoned the Earth and all of its sorrows, and flew to space. Being a mutant I was allowed to breathe easily. I wanted a place to stay, without trouble, a place to experience nature. None were around, so I gathered all my power, and made the moon. When I created it though, it was rich with trees and nature; I made what you would call ozone, so the trees could survive. I stayed there for an incredibly long time, because now being, part Faerie, I was immortal. Did you wonder why lupes always howl to the moon? It was because I was living up there. I would here when they howled on Neopia, because it sounded as though my brothers and sisters were calling, I would howl back in my mind. Well, my peace didn't last forever. As I said before, most mutants like destroying things, at one point, a mutant Draik found that he could breathe in space, my sanctuary died. While I was off traveling space, the Draik burned down every living thing and turned them all to ashes. I was too hurt to even try to bring the nature to life again. I traveled back to earth, looking to calm my pain. While flying non-stop, I ended up in Faerieland, which is where I met Azuriite. She sat upon a cloud watching the world and flying off every few seconds to bring someone cheer. Azuriite sensed my sadness and took me back to the cloud to talk. I told her everything; it felt good to let it all out. She calmed me, and magically gave me hope and happiness. Later that day she took me to a neohome where there was a young girl and a Desert Lupe sitting at a table, they took care of me for day and days without complaint. The lupe's name was Jasitu, and despite his simple appearance, I later found out he was once a regal Prince. The girl was young in her teens, but managed in keeping all of us well fed, her name was Larien. After a while, Larien even built me a room that was open to the forest, where I could fly in and out. She let me stay for a long time, finally she approached me, and asked if I wanted to be adopted, I agreed, as long as I could fly free and be a part of nature. So we went to the pound and signed all the papers, and I was part of there family. I got to meet so many people and neopets, but not many turned out to be good friends... But some time during the past one of Larien good friends came over with her pets, I learned later she was Vanzvire. Her pets included a Mutant Korbat, Camo Kougra, Skunk Lupe, and Brown Lupe. I immediately became great friends with the brown lupe named Sindowed. He helped me through the good and the bad times and was always there. So eventually, he became my true love.
Transformation
Everything was absolutely fine in the years of living with this family, until my spirit was broken. Being part faerie, I have sort of an aura which attracts other faeries, not all of them nice. I try to avoid the evil faeries (and most times I succeed) but the most recent time, I didn't and I paid dearly. I was out in the night after visiting with Vanzvire and I never smelled the dark faerie coming. She cornered me and cackled at my appearance and said I was a disgrace to mutants. The next thing I knew her claw like hands were diving at me. I had no natural talent at fighting, and since I grew wings I could avoid predators and fights. But before I could react she did the worst thing possible to break me, she clawed off my wings. Her fingers actually were claws, so they sliced my wings easily and I was left with stumps, horrible stumps. When I cried out with a cry that could be heard for miles around, the faerie only laughed at my pain. She then took three of her fingers and left a scar on my left haunch that resembled claws. While I sat huddled in the grass beneath me I realized that the faerie would not stop and planned to do many worse things to me. That was also the last time I saw the beautiful world through my left eye. She started mumbling in a strange language and her hands glowed. She looked up at me with those horrible eyes and said, "Forever you will be a prisoner to those in pain, you chained with the shackles of your greatest fears. And if you shall ever encounter me again I will kill you with my mere glance." She cackled and sent the glowing orb directly at my face. I turned enough that is only hit the side of my face but that was enough. In place of my eye and lower face grew a deep swirling mist of colors. Pain filled my eyes as I felt memories of my past drifting out of my soul. I glanced at the faerie with my still good eye and she was frowning. Obviously this was not completely her intent but she smiled evilly after a couple of seconds of thought. Out of midair appeared a mask in the shape of the left side of my face. She sent it flying towards me and it landed on the swirling pit on my face and black straps extended from it surrounding my forehead and neck. The pain had stopped because I realized that this mask was the only thing keeping the memories in. I tried scratching it, but it was unbreakable. The faerie glanced at me and from the back of one of the straps grew a collar. From the front of the collar grew four long chains and at the end were shackled made from the same metal as my mask. They clamped to all four of my legs. The front shackles were on my "wrists" and the back shackles were just below my knee. The chains were tight, but I knew I could still walk. When I glanced back up the dark faerie was gone, but I knew she was still in the area. I didn't even try to escape; I just sat down and cried. Cried like never before, and far away, Azuriite found me. She landed, folded her wings and looked up at me. She stopped in mid step and stared at my chained body. Her eyes filled with tears and she came to me. Her tears were always magical and could heal wounds and grow back ligaments. But when the tears fell on the stumps of my wings, all that happened was the bleeding stopped. The dark faerie had put some kind of spell so that they would never grow back. But when Azure dropped the tears on my wings my flight ability returned. The same with the three scars, all that happened was they closed, but they still looked fresh. She stared at the chains and tried with all her might to break them, but to no use. She told me to relax and she lifted the mask from my face. I realized I had been in so much shock that I had lost my wings that I lost control and that was why the memories flooded out and caused me pain. I found I could control the memories and I could release both good and bad. Azure said I should fly back to our neohome with her, but I turned my head to look at the stumps and refused. I would not disgrace all the winged animals by flying with no wings and looking so hideous. Plus I didn't think Larien would even want me anymore or that Jasitu wouldn't just laugh. I cried again when I thought of Sindo and if he would still consider me a friend when I looked so depressing. I slept in the forest that night alone, though I had no idea Azuriite had been watching over me the entire time. Before dawn I woke to find Azure with a giant wing over me, sheltering me from the evil and sadness of the world. I left to continue home while Azure took off to the skies to watch me from a distance. Without knowing it I found myself at my home. Azuriite was already in the house talking to Larien and Jasitu. I walked in and softly padded into my room. Larien followed after a time and sat by my side. I told her what happened and said I would leave if she didn't want me, but she looked at me with a confused glance and said, "You could never hurt your friendship with this family. No matter what you look like on the outside, your soul is still pure and you are still perfect." She ended with a hug and walked out of the room. I didn't really believe her, but something else was nagging at my mind. The left side of my face was tingling. I had no idea with it was doing. I called Azure into my room and we talked. She had an idea about it and flew off carrying me (since I refused to fly). She located a dying animal. I did not see it since it was too painful to watch but Azure brought me next to it as it let out its final breath. As it faded, I noticed something nudging its way into my mind. I realized it was the soul of this poor creature. Then I was startled as all of this creature's memories came rushing into my mind. I could see its whole life as it had happened to me. Azure smiled as she realized the dark faerie had made a mistake. While she intended on causing just me pain, she gave me almost a blessing. Azure said that I could free the minds of the dying creatures and give them a final reward, to let their souls and memories drift into my mind for eternity. By removing my mask, I could give memories to others if they were in pain and I needed to lighten their suffering. I also still had my healing ability from before. Realizing my new job in the world and glided up to Azuriite's cloud and as she located all the suffering animals I would go to ease their paint or shelter their soul as Azure would go to another creature to bring them happiness.
My life not be as exciting as some of the ones you might read, but it's mine.
