I'm sorry to interrupt, but I heard you cry... a voice whispered from the darkness, only to be cut off by the gasp of surprise Noah emitted from discovering he was not alone in the woods.

The seas are brutal today. With the waves crashing and the boat threatening to throw us and our loot overboard, the less experienced pirates are on orders to stay below. Down here in the darkness we're all in deep thought... I realized it's been almost exactly a year since I met Zyurn. I don't even want to think about who I'd be, what I'd be, without my first friend. Without his guidance, without his friendship I'd never have made something of my life. Because of him I've not only found work, friends, and a place to call home... I've found a family. I wonder what he's doing- last I saw he was watching me walk out of the woods on my path to this new life, my pirate life.
Hello, guest and welcome to my application for the wonderful Lakinore (Noah). As you can see in the above story, I have a story line mapped out in my head that I'm very excited to use, if I'm given the chance. I'll try and keep this application short n' sweet- I've put pets up for adoption myself and I know how tiresome reading applications can be, so I'll try to make this interesting for you! Please read below for info on my storyline, my plans for Noah, and to find out a bit more about me as well!
Lakinore grew up in a small hut in Meridell with his father. At the age of 15, Lakinore's father passed away, leading him to make the decision to leave his place of origin in search of a better life for himself. He nicknamed himself "Noah", and set about erasing his past to make way for his future.
After two years of wandering, Noah found himself alone and discouraged. He took solace in the Haunted Woods, where the eeriness and silence that prompted most to steer clear of the woods helped him forget his troubles- even if temporarily. It was when Noah reached his lowest point that a voice spoke to him- Zyurn. Zyurn, though quite a bit older than Noah became his first and only friend in this dark period of his life. It was Zyurn who helped Noah discover what he was truly meant for- to sail amidst the seas of Neopia as a pirate, having only a wooden ship to call home.
Though Noah is now nearly 19, he truly has found his calling in piracy, though he makes trips often to see his mentor and friend. The banner to the right shows the three distinct sections of Noah's life; the path away from his past, the darkness he experienced alone and afraid, and finally the light he found not only through piracy, but through his friend.
On your application page you stressed the importance of incorporating Zyurn in my storyline. I feel I did this well, and I'd love to act out the storyline if I'm given the chance. At the time I'm writing this I haven't received approval of the storyline from Zyurn's owner, but I did neomail them to explain the situation and ask for their opinion/approval.
I love doing those personality profiles on social networking sites, so I figured I'd make an overview of Noah's personality, likes & dislikes for your enjoyment.
Let's just start off this section by saying that if you want to leave any part of Noah intact, I will absolutely stick to that. This section is based upon what I would do assuming you don't have any special things you'd like to preserve such as color or petpet. Also, just for the most basic plan, Noah will be placed on my main account (negneg189), and either my lab rat or my faerie lenny will be moved to a side to make room for him.
According to his story Noah is now a pirate, so I would paint him pirate immediately using the FFQ I received via the quest activity. I would probably leave him as a basic pirate for awhile but depending on how his storyline develops further I may return him to a base color of shadow and keep his pirate clothes. His customisation would consist of all NP items because I simply don't have the RL money to spend on clothes for my neopets, but below is a picture of his tentative (basic) customisation. I'll admit, customisation is not my forte and I'd probably end up getting some suggestions on trinkets and whatnot. Displayed next to him is his petpet, something I feel is a huge defining part of his story. Sper (pronounced "spare") is a pirate Faellie given to Noah by Zyurn, a going away present for his first voyage in his new life. I chose Sper as a name because it's significant for both Noah & I. Sper is short for "speranza", the Italian word for hope. I'm of Italian heritage and so I'd love an excuse to mix some Italian heritage into his storyline. The word "hope" means a great deal to Noah because it expresses the hope that Zyurn gave to him when he had no other place to go. As doubtful as it may seem, Sper is in fact a girl but don't let that fool you! She's as tough as any other pirate and she's been known to bite on occasion if anybody, friend or enemy gets in her way. She's really a sweetie though, and is 100% faithful to Noah.
As for what I'd actually do with Noah, the answer is unfortunately.. not much. I'm not the type to make those empty "application promises" where I cross my heart and swear to feed him only gourmet foods and read him 17 books a day (plus an extra on tuesdays) because I feel honesty is a huge part of the application process and I don't want to make promises I won't keep. I do promise to keep him happy, fed, and intelligent but I'm not making any specific promises.
One thing I would very much like to do with Noah is to enter him the the BC. I haven't entered a pet in the Beauty Contest since I was an eleven year old newbie neopian, and even then I got a silver trophy! (-pokes Noerow). While I'm not a great artist and I'm not afraid to admit it, I think I'd do well in the beauty contest because I know a lot of people and I could get votes. Below is a draft of the image I'd use to enter him- I still have a long way to go with my vector work but I think I have a.. decent start.
Even though I wouldn't be doing much with Noah, I can honestly say he'd be my pride and joy. I'd constantly flaunt him (who wouldn't?) and once or if he is crosspainted I'd set him as my active so everyone can gaze on him with fiery beams of envy.. or is that going too far? I also created a font for him which I've been using (and will use) until the results are announced.. then I'll switch it to another Noah font ;) Below is a screenshot of the current one!
Last but not least is his pet lookup- I'll be honest here and say that me just making him one is special. I can be quite a lazy person when it comes to stuff like this and because very few of my pets are 100% permies (I'll keep them forever, just not neccessarily on my main account) I don't tend to make specialized pet lookups for all of them. I have a very simplistic style when it comes to coding & graphics so I tried to keep the layout simple & sweet while retaining Noah's story and personality.
Because you've already had so much reading to do, I'll try and keep this short! My name is Bria, the day after I submit this application will be my 6th year anniversary on neo. I've kept to this account for all 6 years and I'm proud to say I've never been frozen or scammed. I'm pretty much just your average 15 year old- I reside in sunny California, and my passions include graphic design and lacrosse as well as being out doors. I spent way too much time on neo during the school year, but for my summer I attend an 8 week residential camp in New Hampshire. Last summer I went on a 3 week white water canoe trip, which I'm thrilled to say I'll be repeating this year- to Quebec this time! Overall, I'm just your average neopian. Guilds are a huge part of my neopian life and I have many friends from my guild that help make neo absolutely amazing.
I know some owners don't take vouches into consideration if they don't know the people who wrote them, which is completely understandable. Because of this I've minimized the vouches I've received below so you can drag them to the address bar and read them if you wish.
In conclusion, I'd just like to thank you for reading my application. Putting a pet up for adoption is a wonderful, gracious thing and taking the time to read all these apps takes loads of patience I personally wouldn't have. I truly hope you consider me to own Noah- he truly is my dream pet and while I'm sure you've heard this a lot, I've wanted a draik for all of my 6 years on neo and I doubt that will ever change. Here's my "extra credit"! As stated in the most recent update here, applicants can earn "extra credit" by advertising. Because I was bored & couldn't think of anything else to add to the app I figured I might as well. I actually went quite a bit past the 8 pages shown for the first board but I lost the board and couldn't take a more impressive screenie. By the way, I also received six applications and two judging applications while advertising.. I see why you don't enjoy it o_o Thanks!
