In the Graveyard of Time
It was a cold night. The grass was dead and waving gently as an icy breeze blows your hair. You shutter as you wrap your arms around your torso, searching for warmth.
In front of you, you can see a glowing light upon a hill. It looked like ectoplasm. You gasp; a ghost!?
You run up towards it, your curiousity getting the better of you. As you peer out from a bush, you see an almond brown mare. She has a jet black mane and tail, and her angelic wings are flexed out. Her straight, grey horn is pointing to the night sky, and her forelock is covering her left eye, which was sapphire. You can see under it that there is a scar upon it. She has cream socks on her legs and a cream spot upon her head, just below her horn. Around her left leg are two silver bracelets.
What is it you want, kovularonga?" she said coldly. You jump at the sound of your name. How did she see you?
The mutant bearog beside her is looking sadly to the ground. In it's right ear is a golden earring, and he has the same ectoplasm glow around him as the mare.
You fault out from behind the bush and look the mare dead-on. She scowls at you.
Come with me. I shall teach you my origin. The origin of...Unicorii."
The Past of Uni
T'was a warm day, yet quite humid. A spotted mare with a dark black mane and tail whinnied, lying on the ground on her side. Tears streamed down her face as a brown stallion rested beside her, nickering to her, as if smiling. The birth of their filly was in the process.
I stumbled out from the dark domains I had once been in, and pryed my eyes open. I looked to my parents. I whinnied happily. I had my mother's eyes and black mane and tail, but my dad's pelt and cream trimming.
As I grew into a young filly, I met 3 other unis my age. They're names were Uniycki, Uniyokao, and Unijuuno.
Uniycki was a kind filly like me, but was spotted. She liked Unijuuno, and she hid behind all of us.
Unijuuno was a darigan uni, but had a kind heart. He liked Uniycki, and defended her with everything he had.
And lastly, Uniyokao was a shadow colt. He stood up for all of us, especially me and Uniycki. He sometimes fought with Unijuuno.
My old name was Unicorii. The group was inseperatable; we always got into trouble. But somehow, we also got out of punishment.
But one day, the putrid humans came.
They wanted our herd because of our beautiful and rare fur, and our horns that fetched a hefty price.
One day, as I grazed in a small area in the meadow, I heard the sounds of gunshots. I quickly averted my eyes to the forest nearby, and my eyes narrowed. I stepped back a bit on my wobbly legs, ready to run, just in case it came to it.
I stood in that position for a bit, and listened for more signs of danger. Nothing. I listened again, only to hear odd sounds...drunken laughter. My eyes narrowed even more as I curiously and foolishly walked forwards, searching for the men and why they were laughing.
I creapt in the bushes, my eyes glistening with blaze of curiosity. I silently walked through the sticks and leaves, my wings folded on my back. I saw the men gathered around something...or rather, somethings. I stuck my head towards the right a bit, looking past the laughing drunk male in front of me. My eyes widened when I immediately recognized the two bodies.
Uniycki and Unijuuno. Lying on top of each other in a pile, their eyes still wide from shock. They were lying in a pile of dark red blood, with a gun-shot wound in both of them. Uniycki's creamish fur was almost all red from the blood.
Suddenly, my eyes went ablaze with anger. I pointed my horn towards the forest, and dark red light began to focus on the tip of my horn. I quickly shot it towards the forest. Several human screams surrounded the forest, and a fire roared up in the forests and started to spread.
My eyes widened as I realized what I had done. I spiraled to the ground. I shook my head, my eyes wide, as I ran in. I HAD to save my friends' pelts!
I looked around, my eyes wide, searching for the pelts of my two friends. I heard screams of agony. I gulped, as I trampled forward. A firey branch fell down from the burning trees and made ashes fly into my eyes, causing me to be blind temporarily. I whinnied in pain and fear.
UNI!!" I heard my mother scream, as I turned to hear herhooves beating against the soft ashes and dirt below me. Mother thrusted me onto her back, and she quickly trampled towards the exit of the fiery Hell.
She didn't see a branch fall from the trees above her. It fell and it hit her head, so that it crushed her skull. She flung me off of her and outside of the fire before she fell to the ground in a pile of ash and blood.
I stared back at my mother, until I suddenly felt a rush of wind fly by me. My father whinnied loudly as he fell beside my mum, trying to remove the branch from her skull and pull her out.
The fire continued to rise, until all that was left were the screams of the humans and my parents, and smoke that rose to the Heavens.
I glanced around the crowd. People would blame this on me...I just knew it. My eyes widened as I saw Uniyokao, who was staring at the ashes. Rain started to gently pour down from the skies.
They were gone.

I lay beside the river, my sapphire eyes staring hungrily down at the water. My once beautiful brown pelt was now singed with ashes and burns. My mane had burnt sticks and ashes in it, while my tail held dirt and grass. My hooves were covered in blood from where my mother had spurted blood from her crushed skull.
I heard someone creep up behind me. I looked back; Uniyokao sat down beside me.
...Hey..." he said slowly, looking away from me, and instead making eye-contact with the river.
You hate me." I said quietly, looking silently into the river, watching fish happily swim by.
What?" he said, looking up at me, his eyes wide.
I looked sadly back at him. "Don't try to kid me...you hate me...you loved Uniycki. You say it's my fault for causing their deaths... I'm...sorry."
Suddenly, I felt a jabbing pain in my side. My eyes widened as I fell into the river. I looked up pleadingly at Uniyokao. His eyes were a dark-blood red, and his teeth had turned to fangs. His horn and hooves had turned quite sharp, as if daggers.
YOU THINK A STUPID SORRY WILL BRING THEM BACK TO LIFE!? YOU THINK IT WILL ALL GO AWAY BECAUSE OF A SAD LITTLE 'SORRY'!? YOU ALWAYS WERE THE STUPID ONE!! THINKING THAT YOU WERE THE LEADER OF THE GROUP!! YOU IDIOT!!" he screamed, as his wings flared angrily. My eyes started to feel heavy as I closed them, falling deeper into the water.
Save...me...Someone...save me..." I thought pleadingly, but no one came to my cries. I sank on and on...

I awoke, lying on the shore of the grassy plains that was near my herd's meadow. I pulled myself onto my legs. I looked around; no one was here.
Unicorii I am no more. I now am Uni Uni Uni Uni....so I can forever remember...the group." I said solemnly, as I spread my wings and used my wobbly legs to fly.
Not being very strong at flying yet, I landed on the other side of the hills. I began to walk, my eyes on the ground, when I felt a ripping pain across my left eye. I screamed as blood poured from it. A darigan kougra that had many daggers and such on his armour stood in front of me, smirking.
You have journied into Battle Pet territory. Call us the Shadokiri if you will. But since you have ended up here, I will have to kill you. Sorry, small filly..." he cackled sarcastically at the last words.
I stared up at him, the whole left side of my face covered in blood. I screamed with anger, as I jabbed my horn into his chest. I then picked him up and hit him against a tree, causing his spine to break.
I growled angrily as he fell to the ground, hissing at me angrily. I rose my left front hoof, and then stomped on his skull, crushing it.

I ran. I had killed Mom, Dad, three humans, and my best friends. Uniyokao was probably dead as well... I couldn't live there anymore.
I finally collapsed under a tree. I had been running for many months, and my body had grown much more then. The scar that was over my left eye was a dark red color, so I covered it with my forelock the best I could. I sighed... it had been a long, hard life currently...would it ever perk up?
I suddenly heard a rustling in the bushes. A woman with silver hair, wolf ears, and a wolf tail crawled out. She had 2 dark navy blue stripes on each cheek, and a black crescent moon scar on her forehead. She wore a dark grey cloak and had a sword in it's sheath strapped to her back.
She was walking around, and looked up only to see me. She smiled.
Hello, mare. May I ask your name?" she said gently. "Mine is Shiori."
I blinked, and sighed.
Uni..." I said shortly.
Suddenly, my eyes turned dark, deep blood red. I grew fangs, and my horn and hooves grew large. The woman stared at me as I turned into my demon form.
She walked over and slipped 2 silver bracelets on my front-left leg.
As if magic, I started to transform to my natural self. She smiled.
Since I helped you, will you please come under my care? I sense sadness in your past... I shall help heal it from you. Oh, and you should very well keep your demon-form secret..."
I stared at her and nodded to both questions. Who WAS this mysterious woman? She acted like she knew everything about me...
I watched her as she ran into the brush again. I then turned away from her direction and galloped away.

As I traveled, I met a wonderful stallion by the name of Pecali. He was so kind to me. Gentle yet tough...but always kind. We soon grew into best friends. But whenever I got close to him, the Shadokiri always arrived and destroyed everything and wounded him and me. Fearing for his life, I always ran.
After our third meeting, the time I ran off, my mind was still on Pecali. Was he really friends with me? I mean, I seemed much more like a burden than a friend...
Without noticing, I felt a searing pain in my side. My eyes widened as I saw a large sword enter my right side and exit my left. I whinnied in pain and fear for my life as I fell to the ground.
YES! SHE IS FINALLY GOING TO DIE!!" I heard as Shadokiri crawled out of the shadows, rejoicing as my blood spilled on the damp grass.
I whinnied out, hoping Pecali would hear me....but I barely made more than a squeak. The Shadokiri laughed at my feeble attempts to find a savior, as they all turned and ran off.
My breaths shallowed as the world around me started to spin. My eyelids were getting heavy...I finally allowed them to shut.
I was dead.

I felt my eyes open as I found myself lying in the shadows. I edged up, moaning painfully. I looked over into the sun, by the river. There sat my body. I gasped and ran over to it, staring blankly at it. I looked over my body. I looked completely the same...except the fact my horn was now a dark grey, and that there was a ghostly aura around me. I gulped, and glanced down at my front-left leg. The bracelets weren't there.
I looked around and saw two Unis from my old herd approaching. I quickly took off the bracelets and placed them back on my front left leg, and galloped into the shadows. I noticed that my aura had dissappeared...because I put on the bracelets.
They came to my body and shook their heads sadly. One placed me on her back and they galloped to a nearby graveyard. I stealthly followed them, careful not to get seen.
They buried my body and stuck a somewhat large boulder over my grave, marking my burial spot. Once they left, I trotted over to the grave, which read:
Here lies Uni.'
I stared at it, and quietly scripted in more words. When I was finished, it read:
Here lies Uni. Murdered by the Shadokiri, aka Battle Pets.'
I sighed. I was really dead. Was I living in pergatory? I guess so, since I wasn't in Heaven nor Hell. I would let no one know until I found it at the right time. I was afraid they would all leave.
I trotted into the darkness to hide myself from everyone and everything. A place where no one could find me.
A place I could rest in peace.

Shiori
My care-taker. She has taken myself and a few other of my half-siblings under her care. She travels, much like the rest of us. If it weren't for her, I would have left and allowed Sokumatu to trap me in Hell a long time ago. I love her.
Moranaia
My closest friend of my half-siblings. She's shy and blushes a lot, and she has trouble with guys. She lives in the Quemano Forest with Haru and 3 other of my half-siblings.
Tiger_Cub
A white kougress who guards the stars with her life. She has an enemy that is a devil, not to mention, also under Shiori's care. Tiger and Soku, as the devil's name is, fight whenever they see each other.
Sokumatu
This is a dark, evil kougra brute. He wants to kill Tiger, and take over Neopia so that he can torture all he hates. I have only heard of him though, for I haven't ever seen him in real life...I doubt he has heard of me...
Protector_Dog1
Probably one of the best gelerts ever, Protector forgot all of his memories when he was taken away by an evil scientist. All he remembers are his friends and a tiny bit of his family, but other than that, his memories are completely gone.
Popeorokami
Ah yes. Pope. The only dream-maker in all of Neopia. He creates the dreams for every user and neopet in all of the lands. He says they all have to do with something happening in their past, with a touch of lies, and a dab of fate. He's very gentle and sleek, and handsome for a krawk. He has weird markings on him and wears a scarf that covers up an X scar on his neck.
Uniyokao
He has changed.... so much. He has flames of ectoplasm upon his ankles and his wings are dragon-like now. His eyes are always red and pupiless...what happened to him?
ToriiRose
Torii is extremely pure and good. She used to be a mare who went through stallion's hearts like scissors through paper, but she changed because of a curse. She's an extremely caring mare now.

Xi is a strange stallion who's new around here. He's the type that all girls dream about. Kind, funny, and handsome. I don't like him that much, but... he IS nice.
