9/10/09 Ai! I really left this page a mess...I'm working on my anthro section so look out for that soon. I'm also learning css and this site will be my guinea pig...

Most of Tehtrah's art here is pretty old. I'm working on making some new images of her.
I'm putting up the old page that I had. I like it, I took it down because of the html limitations they gave totally wreaked havoc on it. I think I will make a better layout and such.

9/2/07 I'd say the page is about 30% done...I sketched out the image for the layout, but I need to add more pictures, descriptions, and friends for Tehtrah. If you have a pet that would be friends with mine, that'd be great.

You come across a peculiar looking house, walking down the peaceful road of Cairne Close in Neopia Central. Will you investigate?

You see a young female zafara lounging at a makeshift desk, deeply interested in the book she is reading. She doesn't seem to notice you.

O-oh. H-hello. Welcome to the Neopia Central Library, Cairn Close division. Let me check the registry to find your name.

She motions you to come closer to her desk, asking for your ID card. She enters your ID number into the library's computer. She then looks at you once again.

Ah, guest. Pleased to meet you. My name is Tehtrah, Tehtrah Gene. I am the owner of this library. I asked the Neopia Central Officials to build this here. There simply aren't enough libraries in such a cramped place as NC. Feel free to look around at my books, there are plenty to choose from.

Tehtrah smiles at you shyly, taking her seat behind her desk.

Will you look around, leave, or ask Tehtrah a question?

Why does this library look so strange?

O-oh. I'll admit it's a bit odd looking. That's because this place doubles as my home. Since I like to be at home and I like to share my books with others, I figured putting them together would be natural.

Making a recognizable anthro neopet

Through my years of research and observation, I've reached certain conclusions about humanoid neopet variances such as myself.

First we must ask: What is an anthro?

An anthromorophic neopet is a neopet character you've created that has HUMAN characteristics.

The human characteristics include: Facial hair, head hair, clothing, bi-pedal stance, human facial emotion and speech, hands capable of grasping, etc.

For those who are naysayers and say anthros don't fit neopia, there is plenty of art throughout the site that uses anthromorophic neopets. Why? Simply put, there just isn't a realistic freedom with regular quadruped animals. Not say it's something better, I'd say they are just two different ways in which to tell a story.

For me, the best anthros are the ones where you can tell exactly what they are. However, this is merely my own opinion, so it is a bit biased.

So, how do we make a good anthro? As I said before, we must be immediately recognizable. For example, let's look at me.

First we ask ourselves, what makes a zafara, a zafara? Hmm...The underbelly color, the small floppy ears, small muzzle and most importantly - Our distinct tail shape. It starts out thick then tapers down to a thin end, with a fizzy tip.

Fan art pick up here. Please don't take the art if it isn't yours. If you just wanna look though, feel free.

Win my pet page award! The Golden Daisy...! I will host your award and it will be specially marked for your pet only. I will change the background to the color of your pet's page, to keep the quality. But it's not easy to get! You need to have your own quality pictures of your neopet ( meaning YOU drew them), an innovative design, creativity, absolutely NO broken links, and um...a link to my page ;) *laughs briefly* When you think you're ready, just neomail my owner and she will judge the page as soon as she can.
