I was requested to follow MRD and determine what her activities in Neopia are. This is my journal covering her activities from the beginning of the assignment to now. (November 17, 2003) - First enters Neopia MRD enters Neopia under the name nightshine270. Eventually sets up home in Neopia Central. (November 18, 2003) - Adopts first and second pet Very shortly after entering Neopia, MRD has adopted Redervish, a male Red Eyrie. In addition, I hid myself in the Neopian Pound and disguised myself as just another abandoned pet. While browsing the Pound, she fell for my disguise and my pitiful demeanor and adopted me. (November 20, 2003) - Creates second identity MRD starts to use the name nightshine360 in some parts of Neopia. (Eventually sets up home in the Spooky Woods.) (January 2, 2004) - Visits Neopian Space Station, adopts third pet As nightshine270, MRD visited Neopian Space Station. In a fit of pity (or curiousity) she adopts a male White Grundo and names it Twiligere. (Addendum: He quickly proved to be dimwitted and demanding. She attempted to make him somewhat smarter by reading him books but eventually stopped playing with him due to his pickiness.) (January 5, 2004) - Creates third identity and adopts fourth pet MRD then sets up a home on Mystery Island and creates the identity cute_fuzzles. MRD intended to collect four of the cutest pets in Neopia and bring them there to live. Under this new identity, MRD adopts a female Red Meerca and names it Kiki_poing. MRD confides that the name for the Meerca came from a web comic that she likes to read. (Addendum: Kiki_poing is shuffled across several identities and eventually abandoned. She is currently owned by jessica353.) (January 7, 2004) - Adopts fifth and sixth pets MRD adopts Cha_hua_hua, a male Yellow Jubjub and Micah_Nexus, a male Blue Lupe (under the identity cute_fuzzles.) (Addendum: Micah_Nexus is eventually lost during a transfer to the identity fuzzles_forever. hyllari_bob is the current owner.) (January 13, 2004) - Hires lab assistant (and seventh pet) After learning of the existance of the laboratory ray, MRD resolves to save up her NP to buy one and set up a lab of her own. Under the name nightshine360, she interviews and hires a male Yellow Scorchio named Falderole to eventually be her assistant and caretaker of her lab. MRD is not seen again in Neopia for several months. (July 19, 2004) - Returns to Neopia and adopts eighth pet After deciding that Micah_Nexus and Kiki_poing aren't so cute after all, they are moved to live in Neopia Central (with nightshine270.) To make room for them, Twiligere is moved to live with nightshine360. Having recently purchased a hedgehog (whatever that is) in what MRD calls "real life" (Ha!), she instantly fell in love with the relatively new species, Yurble. She immediately adopted a female Green Yurble and invited it to live with her on Mystery Island (where she was known as cute_fuzzles.) The Yurble was named Alina_hedgie after the hedgehog. (Addendum: Alina_hedgie is the first pet to be painted. She is now Brown.) (August 20, 2004) - Adopts ninth pet MRD likes the look of the new Neopet, the Ruki. As nightshine360, she adopts a female Blue Ruki and names it Scytheri. (August 25, 2004) - First Mutant Day This was a terrifying day for many Neopians as all of their beloved pets took on the guise of mutants. Many of those Neopians turned their pets away out of horror, but MRD became enamored of the appearance and resolved to devote one of her homes to these creatures at the earliest opportunity. Cha_hua_hua was the first to be mutated and currently lives in the Spooky Woods at nightshine360's residence. He is now curator of a collection of foods that seem to have been made from pets, petpets, or Fyora-knows-what. (It's rather macabre, really.) (August 30, 2004) - Adopts tenth and eleventh pets MRD is determined to get a Poogle. She adopts Khazemdet (a female Red Kyrii) and Khaldunet (a female Yellow Peophin) with the intent of morphing one of them into a Desert Poogle. (Both pets are adopted under the identity cute_fuzzles.) She eventually decides against this course of action. (September 10, 2004) - Establishes Laboratory (fourth identity) MRD refurbishes a cave on Terror Mountain and installs a Secret Laboratory Ray, purchased from the Mad Scientist under the islands near Maraqua. She calls the facility "labwerks." Falderole was moved to the lab and is the only permanent resident at the site. I spoke with him about the work that MRD does there. He explained, "MRD runs this cave as a humanitarian effort. She adopts pets from the pound and sends them under the ray which changs them, sometimes subtly and sometimes dramatically. If they change into a rare species or unusual color, she then sends the pet back to the pound, in hopes they are better prepared to find a permanent owner." Falderole himself is apparently sent under the ray sometimes just for variety. I left the lab when the White Evil Fuzzle (a so-called mascot for the lab) started sniffing at me more than I was comfortable with. (September 22, 2004) - Adopts twelfth pet MRD is unsuccessful at adopting a Poogle during Poogle Day. As cute_fuzzles, she instead adopts a male Blue Wocky and names it Cloudspur with the intent of making it into a Cloud Poogle one day. She later realizes that she loves the Wocky's attitude and couldn't possibly turn it into a Poogle. Kazemdet and Khaldunet are sent to the cave on Terror Mountain. (Addendum: Kazemdet eventually becomes a Skunk Kiko and is adopted by artimisstar. Khaldunet, much to MRD's delight, became a Lost Desert Lupe. Khaldunet was later lost during a move from labwerks to fuzzles_forever. tvbud is the current owner. :( ) (September 26, 2004) - Adopts thirteenth pet MRD adopts a female Green Usul and names it Kitsuki. Kitsuki resides on Mystery Island (with the identity cute_fuzzles.) (Addendum: About two days later, MRD purchased a Magical Yellow Poogle Toy and turned Kitsuki into a beautiful Yellow Poogle. (At least MRD seems to think she's beautiful.) (October 27, 2004) - Adopts fourteenth pet As nightshine270, MRD adopts a rare male Ice Bori and names it Borishnikov. (She thinks she's really funny.) (At this time, Kiki_poing was turned out and left to find a better home.) (October 15, 2004) - Jetsam Day MRD adopts three Jetsams: Manauia_ (a female Red Jetsam), CHICAHUA (another female Red Jetsam), and Tidesmasher (a male Red Jetsam.) (Addendum: Manauia_ was given up for adoption and is currently owned by hoyusum99. Tidesmasher was also given up for adoption and is currently owned by bakura_ryou_malik_17. CHICAHUA was going to be made into a mutant, but MRD didn't think that would be right. Instead, CHICAHUA is living at the cave on Terror Mountain, awaiting adoption.) (December 23, 2004) - Adopts fifteenth pet As nightshine270, MRD adopts a female Yellow Bori (named Mellachora) to keep Borishnikov company. (February 1, 2005) - Adopts sixteenth pet As fuzzles_forever, MRD adopts a male Yellow Pteri and names it Tercel (after the male hunting falcon.) (February 15, 2005) - Adopts seventeenth pet As nightshine360, MRD adopts a male Blue Lenny with the intent to mutate him into a Mutant Lenny. She later changes her mind and sends him to the mountain lab. By the time he has changed into a female Green Bruce, MRD decides to mutate him into a Mutant Draik instead. He is moved back to the woods to await a time that she can afford the Transmogrification Potion for her. (February 20, 2005) - Acquires fifth identity and eighteenth pet With the help of a friend, MRD acquires the identity fuzzles_forever. This identity owned a female Red Jubjub named lil_fuzzle which MRD has decided to keep. She has created a gallery there dedicated to fuzzles and fuzzle items. The Jubjub is curator of this gallery. The identity and gallery are located in Brightvale. MRD moved Scytheri and Tercel to this location shortly after adopting the identity. (May 11th, 2005) - Adopts ninteenth pet As fuzzles_forever, MRD adopts a female Green Hissi named Ivory_Coatl. (May 8th, 2005) - Adopts twentieth pet As nightshine360, MRD adopts a male Blue Lenny and names it Teratorn (after an extinct species of vulture.) She intends to mutate it into a Mutant Lenny. (May 22, 2005) - Adopts twentyfirst (and final) pet As nighthshine360, MRD adopts a female Yellow Ixi and names it Kaonoke. She intends to mutate it into a Mutant Ixi. (June 9, 2005) - Adopts special lab project MRD adopts Ancient_Pottery (a male Green Skeith) from Uninformedkitty and promises that one day it will be a Clay pet. Ancient_Pottery lives on the mountain at labwerks. (July 8, 2005) - Mutants a-go-go Both Kaonoke and Teratorn are mutated! Oddly enough, they both seem quite content with their new forms. (September 9, 2005) - Intensive training? MRD begins to send Alina_hedgie to the Lab Ray for training. Chances are, Alina_hedgie isn't going to be a Brown Yurble for long.... (I'm glad it's her and not me.) (November 20, 2005) - New rules and a new fifth residence Neopia Central authority releases new rules limiting the residence of all Neopians to only 5 homesteads which they themselves established. The fuzzles_forever residence was established by someone else so to comply with the new rules, MRD has abandoned it and created a new residence - fuzzles_gallery. She adopted a new caretaker - a Red Jubjub named A_lil_fuzzle - and moved Tercel and Ivory_Coatl into the new residence. (December 10, 2005) - Darigan at last! Tercel finally meets his destiny and is painted Darigan. The falcon is on the hunt! (February 22, 2006) - More Mutant Mania! Merriami the Pawkeet and Yallery_Brown the Symol are painted Mutant! (These petpets belong to the Tercel and Kaonoke on nightshine360.) (April 6, 2006) - Back to the Lab Kacaern has been sent back to the Lab to see if anything interesting might happen. (On April 10, 2006, the Lab Ray turned her into a Green Hissi. She is now promised to Andro.) (April 10, 2006) - Boochi Must Die! Boochi zapped Kitsuki. She was Yellow before so it wasn't an expensive loss. All the same, I can't stand seeing that Baby around now. That's all I have to say about that. (April 18, 2006) - Lutari at last! The Lutari is finally released. MRD attempted to get one but was unsuccessful. She decided to send Mellachora the Yellow Bori to the Lab in hopes she would turn into a Lutari. (MRD didn't realize the Lutari would run away if sent to the Pound for any reason, even to transfer homes.) (April 19, 2006) - A Red Letter Lab Day! On this day, the Lab Ray graced MRD with both a Tyrannian Bori and a Maraquan Hissi. Neither Mellachora nor Alina_hedgie will be zapped again. Mellachora has been sent home successfully. (April 23, 2006) - Sibboleth! Sibboleth the Faerie Poogle is adopted from Andro to be the fourth pet on MRD's gallery account. Now the only pet who can't fly there is the Jubjub. I wonder what she will do when they all move to Faerieland? (August 28, 2006) - A Royal Kyrii Day After Boochi's attack on Kitsuki and the subsequent adoption of Sibboleth, MRD didn't seem to care so much about Kitsuki. She even went so far as to start zapping Kitsuki's petpet with the newly discovered Petpet Lab Ray. On Kyrii Day in 2006, Kyriis accended to royalty and MRD became smitten. She immediately spent almost all savings to first morph Kitsuki into a Red Kyrii and then paint her into the Royalty. Hmmpf. I really don't see what all the fuss is about....
