K.A.M.P.A. is now closed. (Affiliates - feel free to remove us.) It's been really fun and we've helped a lot of pets, 171 to be exact. Wow! Unfortunately many of our members have become much too busy to foster pets, some have even left the site. I greatly appreciate all of the hard work, time, and effort they gave when labbing and fostering pets while Kampa was operating. Our conversations amongst each other and friendships made it all worthwhile. Thank you! I will leave this page up as a dedication to our accomplishments and as a reference to all of the past fosters which have been helped by these wonderful Neopians. :)
Thanks as well to all of those kind-hearted Neopians who have given our fosters a well needed home. Please continue to take good care of them! A final thank you, to you glowing_berry_jelly for visiting our page. Your interest in our program was what kept us going as long as we did! We really did think we would be able to, but we will be launching it tomorrow after we make sure it won't blow up the site. (You may have noticed some site trouble earlier, which was due to the pound.) :-( Trust us, we want the pound back as much as you do.

Posted in Editorial #341 on May 02 : A gal I know put one of her Neopets in the Pound quite some time ago. The day before the Pound re-opened, the Neopet's lookup showed it as being in the Pound, as it should be. Now that the Pound has re-opened, the Neopet isn't there. If I look it up, I get a "The owner of this Neopet has had their account frozen" message. I realize it's possible that someone else who was just as excited about the Pound re-opening as I am went just as quickly to the Pound as I did upon the re-opening, got the Neopet first, then immediately got their account frozen. However, given the timeframe and the fact that I've seen some posts saying similar things on the NeoBoards, I'm doubting the someone-else-got-that-Neopet-right-before-I-got-to-the-Pound-and-then-immediately-got-frozen scenario a bit. Is there some kind of glitch going on with the Pound? Are some Neopets "stuck"? Thanks a bunch, TNT! ~spiritsearch
Part of the issue with the Pound opening is that there was an insane number of Neopets backlogged in the Pound. And we mean like, millions. x_X That's what caused the instability that the site experienced. We couldn't release the Pound until the next day because we had to transfer those Neopets out of the Pound (and that's a very slow process). We're going to continue to try and release those frozen Neopets slowly back into the Pound to avoid making the site asplode. Hopefully, all will go well. *fingers crossed*
Yay! Hopefully our Fosters will end their holiday in Iceland soon! Keep an eye on the pets listed as -In the Pound- because TNT may -possibly- repound them eventually. :)

Hello and Welcome to K.A.M.P.A.! D.O.A. Guilds Official Foster Pet Program! K.A.M.P.A. was created in March of 2005 by Kally (kallyally83) and Maggie (midnight_millenia) and was appropriately named Kally and Maggie's Pet Adoption a.k.a.K.A.M.P.A.. Our love and hobby of adopting pets from the pound and fostering them until the lab ray provided a nice paint job didn't go unnoticed. Soon enough our little two-Neopian foster operation was acknowledged by fellow D.O.A. Guild members. Member interest and involvement in the Foster Program compelled us to incorporate the program into our official guild activities! Thoughts of renaming the Agency to suit the Guild surfaced, yet the consensus agreed to keep the Agency named after its founders, Kally and Maggie. Thus, we have the K.A.M.P.A. you see before you today!
What K.A.M.P.A. Does
At K.A.M.P.A. we adopt unwanted pets that were abandoned to the pound. Then, we use the Lab Ray on them until they get painted or zapped into a Limited Edition pet! Then we send them back to the pound to find new loving homes!

K.A.M.P.A.'s History
K.A.M.P.A was started in April of 2005 and officially closed in April 2008. Up until April 2007 (when the pound temporarily closed), K.A.M.P.A. abandoned pets with the use of theK.A.M.P.A. Kalendar. We listed the exact dates and exact times when pets would be abandoned, hoping this service would be fair and helpful for all Neopians looking for great pets. However, this method proved to be quite difficult for a various number of reasons.

If a member missed an abandoning time due to circumstances beyond their control they would occasionally receive some unnecessary and in some cases downright rude neomails from people who were eying the pet. Many Neopians were very understanding and courteous if a pet accidentally missed it's abandoning time, and we greatly appreciate and thank those users. Our calendar method also seemed to encourage a small number of people to beg us for pets or repeatedly spam us. Some users would also get very upset if they missed a pet and would demand we give them our next painted pet as a sort of replacement. Other issues we dealt with were in one case all of our pets in about a two week span seemed to be going to the same user's various side accounts. When confronted, he/she took the next four days to abandon all the pets from their accounts, so at least they received proper homes in the end!

Even though we occasionally encountered these problems, we kept at it! It made it even more worthwhile when a foster was adopted by a gracious and thankful Neopian. We felt humbled to have been able to help them find a new pet to welcome into their accounts. :)

During the time that Neopets revamped the site, added customization, and closed the pound for a year, we lost a few members. At this point we came to an agreement that K.A.M.P.A had a good run, but it was time to pack it in. We were able to foster a total of 171 pets that would otherwise still be lurking in the pound. I think that's a wonderful accomplishment to feel proud of! This page will always remain up, so feel free to browse through our past fosters whenever you wish. :)

K.A.M.P.A. Member Requirements
  • K.A.M.P.A. is a Foster Pet Program ran by members of the D.O.A. Collector's Guild. We appreciate all interest in joining, but at this particular time we are keeping membership within our own guild members only.
  • Any guild member may join if they wish to take part in this activity and have Lab Ray Access.
  • Foster as many or as few pets as you wish - We're a laid back Foster Program! If you constantly adopt pets from the pound to zap into neat colours and re-abandon, then awesome! If you decide once a month (or whatever suits you) to break from zapping your permanent pet to help a pound pet, then great! There is no quota to fill, number to reach, or anything of that sort. Feel free to participate or take a break whenever you wish. :)
  • Simply Neomail Kally or Maggie, or post on the Guild Board that you'd like to join!
  • Kally updates this page so feel free to neomail her with any additions, edits, or changes. :)
  • We do not ask for any Np or items for our Fosters. We are simply doing this to help the Unwanted Pets of Neopia. :)

  • We do not guarantee pets to anyone. Once a pet is in the pound they are up for grabs to anyone.

  • Never try to bribe, threaten, or beg us for a pet. Like we said, we are doing this to help unwanted pets get homes, not for financial gain.

  • Don't ask us to mail you each and every time we abandon a pet or ask us to reserve particular pets for you. Example - No 'If you guys ever get a Faerie Cybunny then give it to me!' neomails.

  • If we happen to have an Avatar pet up for adoption, please do not ask to borrow it. We would rather have the pet go to a loving home, not just be passed around for an avatar. If you happen to catch the pet in the pound, then it's rightfully yours and you can do what you wish.

  • If you are able to adopt one of our Pets then CONGRATS! Please take good care of him/her. Display a link back to our page if you wish!

  • If you missed a pet then we are sorry, but that's the way the pound is. We are always abandoning more fosters so just keep checking the pound. With a little persistence, you may just find the amazing pet of your dreams!

  • Please do not bother the Pet's new owner if you missed him/her. They rightfully adopted the pet first and are entitled to do whatever they please with him/her.

  • Please give credit where credit is due. Although there is nothing we can do to enforce this suggestion, we do live by the honour system. We have seen our Fosters bounce around other Adoption Agencies. Some of our Fosters spent months being zapped by us before getting painted. If you do intentionally adopt one of our pets for your personal agency, feel free to find them a great home, but please don't take the credit for the time labbing the pet into the colour or species We abandoned them as. Maybe you could say 'Formerly Fostered by K.A.M.P.A.!' or something of that sort on their lookup. It would be greatly appreciated. :)

    This section was loading very slowly due to the large number of pet images. The Past Fosters are now listed in text in the chart below. They are listed as what colour and species they were when they were abandoned. If their current look is different, then it was done by their new owner.
    Pets are listed Oldest Fosters at the Top - Recent Fosters at the Bottom.

    This section is mostly just for personal reference, to keep track of pets I or other K.A.M.P.A. Parents have fostered out before we started the K.A.M.P.A. agency. K.A.M.P.A. began around the end of March '05 but quite a lot of our members fostered many pets before then! This section is here so we never forget the little darlings and to make sure they are still happily homed. I once found a Kiko I fostered lurking in the pound for days, so I still occasionally browse this list and inform users if any fosters are in need of a new home, again!
