| June 1st, 2008 | Stock Market Guide | I added my February, March, April, and May stock data. May was the greatest month for me yet, and made up for the weaker previous months. I hope you all made some good sales too ![]() |
| February 5th, 2008 | Announcement | Banners are up a little earlier than thought. I'm using a different site than before to host them, so if you are using one of my banners already, it would help if you could replace it with the new code at the bottom. |
| February 1st, 2008 | Announcement | I've fixed the pictures on all of my guides, they are all showing up properly now, and they shouldn't go down again. My banners are still down however, they will be back up February 10th. |
| January 31st, 2008 | Announcement | I've been told by a few people that my banners and the pictures on my guides have not been showing up properly. This is because I've reached my monthly bandwidth limit. In other words; they're not showing up because too many people are viewing them, weird huh. I'm working on it right now, though. |
| January 11th, 2008 | Stock Market Guide | I finally posted my October, November, and December data for 2007, along with some yearly info. The reason it took so long is because my computer had been reformatted in mid October, causing me to lose much of my October data. Part of it is greyed out because I'm not positive on what I bought and sold for those few days. |
Please keep in mind that this is not a complete walkthrough, but a FAQs page to help you
get through certain parts of the game easier. If you would like help with a certain area in
the game that's not already been explained below, feel free to neomail me your question.

You cannot get the sword back if you sold it; just keep it as you upgrade your weapons.
as seeing this at the end may be useless if you know what I mean.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q - I just started, what is this game?
A - Neoquest II (NQ2) is a turn based Role Playing Game (RPG). You fight enemies, gain experience,
gain levels, then fight more enemies. Some people will like it, others won't.
Q - Where can I find NQ2?
A - You can go to the games room and use the search bar at the side to search for Neoquest II, or you can use this link.
Q - Is it really worth it to play NQ2?
A - If you plan on playing Neopets for a long time, then yes it is worth it.
You can make a lot of money from NQ2 if you're in it for the long run. The gold trophy is cool too.
Q - What can I earn for playing NQ2?
A - For each difficulty you beat, you will earn a trophy, some NP, and a random prize.

The prizes on Normal mode are worth anywhere from 5K - 15K. The ones on Evil mode are
worth anywhere from 20K - 500K. And the ones on InSaNe are worth anywhere from 300K - 3.5 mil.
Q - How much money have you made from playing NQ2?
A - Just from the item prizes, I earned about 5.5 million when I sold them at the time.
Q - How long does it usually take you to complete NQ2?
A - My fastest time was just over 2 days as I was going for the fastest wins trophy.
My longest probably took about 2 months. It really depends if I'm in the mood or not,
and after beating it 6 times, I'm usually not in the mood.
Q - What were the prizes you received for beating NQ2?
A - When I beat NQ2 on the 3 difficulties for the first time, I got:
Normal mode: ![]() Mipsys Charm Bracelet |
Evil mode: ![]() Ramtors Spellbook |
InSaNe mode: ![]() Wand of Reality |

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Enemies and Bosses
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q - I'm having trouble with regular enemies, what should I do?
A - It really depends on how much exp you're earning per enemy.
75 to 100 per enemy is a good amount. Eg/ If you defeat 2 enemies,
anywhere from 150 to 200 exp would be a nice amount. If you're
earning less than 75 per enemy, you should continue onwards to harder
enemies, if you're earning more than 100, then staying back might be wise.
Don't stick to this rule if you don't want to, especially later on in the game when you have Velm's healing powers.
450 or more exp from 4 enemies can easily be obtained while maintaining your team's health.
![]() |
A - Make sure you have a lot of damage potions, haste potions, and slow potions to use on the enemy, especially as you get further down the game. These are a great help and will usually help you win a lot of your battles. |
Q - One/Two/Three of my characters have fainted, how can I heal them?
A - Any Inn where you rest at will heal the fainted characters back to full health.
You can also start getting revive potions in Act 3 and on.
Q - I sometimes find weapons after battles, why?
A - In Evil and InSaNe difficulty only, it is possible to find weapons after winning your battle.
Just a little something The Neopets Team added to make your adventure a little easier.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Specifics
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A - Don't go too far away from your starting city, Trestin. Train until level 4 or 5. Talk to your mother if you need to be healed. Once you're about level 5, you can either go North of Trestin to enter a cave and fight your first boss to get even stronger, or you could skip that and travel east of the cave to get to White River City. The cave is fairly straight forward, and at the end is the first boss. |
![]() |
Q - Can I get people to join my party and fight with me?
A - Yes, Mipsy is in White River City in Chapter 1, Talinia is in an Inn
in Chapter 2, and Velm is in Wasset Village in Chapter 3.
Q - What if I forgot to pick up one of these characters?
A - You can do two things. If you're still in the chapter where you can get the character, you can go back and pick them up
again. If you are in a different chapter, then you must continue forward to get your next character, as the previous one will be
with them. For instance, if you are in Chapter 2 without Mipsy, then when you get Talinia you will also get Mipsy.
Q - I'm in White River City, what now?
A - You should train and earn gold near the city for buying the damage potions to use on Zombom.
Zombom is who you're going for next. He is in a cave to the north east of White River City.
![]() |
A - Zombom is rather one of the harder bosses in the game, so don't worry if you've lost a bit. Make sure you're at least my suggested level depending on your difficulty. Buy about 10 damage potions from White River City. These should take him out, or at least damage him enough for you to take him out. |
A - Travel back to White River City. The bridge in the centre will be crossable, go to the southern part of the city to talk to Mipsy who will join your party. Leave the south part of the city and travel east until you get around the mountains. Then continue south west to the city of Lakeside. |
![]() |
Q - Where is this hermit (Meridell - Act 1)?
A - He is in the top left hand corner of the city Lakeside. He's behind a bunch of trees.
You need to go to the very top middle to find an entrance in this forest like area.
Q - Should I be a rather high level for Ramtor II?
A - Yup, because after you beat Ramtor II, you will go straight to Chapter II. The enemies will get harder of
course and if you can't beat them, you may find that you'll be in trouble at the beginning of this act.
Q - Why can't I understand what the Chias are saying in Chia Oscuro?
A - You need to get the word stone to understand them. This is obtainable by beating Leximp in the cave to the East of the city.
Beating him is not necessary, nor is talking to any of the Chias.
![]() |
A - Once you are out of the Caves of Terror, you will be in the Eastern Pass. Talinia is waiting for you in the Mountainside Inn, which is located north east of the exit of the Caves of Terror. |
Q - What do I do first in the Lost Desert?
A - Leave the main city and head North East. You'll come to a pyramid, Silicast is at the end.
Once he is defeated, head North West of that pyramid and you'll come to the Ruined Temple.
Q - Where do I go after defeating Gebarn II in the Ruined Temple?
A - The mountains to the left and right of the temple will now be gone. It's a simple matter
of going back to and past the temple. You'll then be in Wasset village where Velm is obtainable.
A - Make sure after saving Lifira, you talk to her in Wasset village. Lifira tells you to find this hermit. From Waset village, go North West until you get to some rocks. Follow the rocks and you will eventually get to the top. Keep going up until you can't see the rocks at the bottom, and then continue West and you will eventually get to him. | ![]() |
Q - I can't find the gem the hermit tells me to get, where is it?
A - Go straight up from the hermit until you hit mountains. Continue East following these rocks, always stick to them though.
You'll eventually be able to dig in the sand.
Q - And after getting the gem in the sand?
A - After that you're heading South East to fight Coltzan's Ghost, where you'll receive another gem leading to the rocks in
the shape of a face. 3 spaces left of the rock nose is the final gem leading to a pyramid South West of Wasset Village.
Fight and beat Anubits there, and you're done Act 3.
![]() |
A - The Haunted Woods is a fairly straight forward level, you'll only need maps in a few certain areas. First though, follow the path to a castle and beat Count Von Roo. |
Q - I'm having trouble with the Four Faeries, advice?
A - Make sure you're at least my recommended level near the top of this FAQ.
I suggest the order of Fire, Dark, Water, and then Earth. Fire deals a lot of damage and it's good
to get her out of the way first, dark powers her team mates up so it's good to get her next,
water heals and earth is just HP mostly. Make sure you also use damage, haste, and slow potions.
Q - Should I fight Hubrid Nox?
A - I suggest you do, even on InSaNe mode. Hubrid may be hard yes, but his tower is filled
with enemies and you can gain a good 1 to 5 levels, roughly, depending if you hunt or not. You can
also get some good weapons after beating him. Plus, the Esophagor will be a breeze if you beat Hubrid.
Q - So I should REALLY risk fighting Hubrid even on InSaNe mode?
A - I say yes unless you're really worried. I did, although it was the closest I came to losing...
If you do manage to beat Hubrid though, you should have no trouble for the next bit of the game.
The Esophagor and Fallen Angel will be a piece of cake.
A - One you get for beating the Devilpuss, the boss right after Fallen Angel. The other is beating a Bionic Cybunny, which can be found almost anywhere after the Devilpuss. |
![]() |
Q - The Faerie Thief fled after I beat her, what now?
A - You have to go find her again and beat her twice more before you can get
into Faerie Palace. The second time she will be in the building to the left of the one you
defeated her in first, and for the third time she will be North in front of the Palace.
Q - What do I do in Faerie Palace?
A - This is a big maze, but keep at it because you're in the home stretch of the game. Get through the first floor using the
maps of digifort.com/idnq. This is a fairly straight forward floor. Once you're on the 2nd floor, you're heading to the east and
west towers to defeat the Pant Devils there. Talk to the faerie at the beginning of the 2nd floor to fuse the key back together.
Head for Terask I, who is south of the Pant Devil in the east tower.
![]() |
A - Yes actually. You should have roughly 20 Coma Potions, 20 Speed of Light Potions, and 20 Hurricane Potions by this point. Feel free to use up all these potions if you'd like, because after beating this fearsome beast, a faerie on the next floor sells all three of these potions. |
*I only listed 4 stats for Mipsy as opposed to 5 like the other characters because,
since you shouldn't get DD, this leaves 2 left: Group Haste, and Slowing. I find these
stats a waste as you get to use better versions of them with the slowing and haste potions
you can buy. If you have a few skills left over though, feel free to spend them on either.
**Many people argue whether Group Direct Damage or just Direct Damage is better.
I used to like simple DD, but over time I moved to GDD, and now use GDD. I also suggest you
use GDD. I just thought it's better since you do up to 64 damage to 4 people rather than 100 to 1,
but it's really up to you. Don't get both however, it's a waste. Just stick with one or the other.
Remember, you may not get a weapon that has good bonuses near the end for a
certain character, so it's a good idea to keep about 10 skill points not spent on anything, until you
beat Terask I. Terask I gives you the last of the best weapons in the game, so you will know what
bonuses you have and what you will need to spend things on. I stop spending skills at level 50.

You name it Neggwork Commerce have sold it at one time or another. Now aimed at top quality e-business solutions
they intend to build up a strong presence on the internet community. Slogan - We are the Profit Producers.
This sounds like a good company, right? In actuality, this is the profile of the
stock NEGG, and has been bankrupt for quite some time now.
In this quick stock guide, you'll learn how easy it is to make money and how to avoid the big losses.
Just like my NQII guide, this will be in question and answer format for the most part.
Intro
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Frequently Asked Questions
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q - How can I get started on the Neopian Stock Market?
A - First off, you should have a minimum of 15,000 Neopoints to start in the stock market.
More money would be better and easier, but 15K at least.
If you don't have at least 15K to spare, I suggest not playing the market just yet; get more NP.
Q - Where is the Stock Market located?
A - Click 'Games' on the Neopets tool bar at the top then go to the games room.
Use the search bar at the side of that page to search for 'stock market.
Or you can follow this link.
![]() |
A - Yes, but like NQ2, only in the long run. The market is a waiting game; don't expect profits from it right away. It can take weeks, maybe months before you start showing profits, but it really is worth it. It's better to have your money in the market than the bank. |
A - It depends on how much you invest. If you buy the maximum of 1,000 shares everyday, in time, you could earn a million NP or more in a single month. | ![]() |
Q - Does the Neopian Market work the same way as the real market?
A - Not at all. The real market is decided on the economy: if people start buying a lot of bread lets
say, then a bread stock may do well. The Neopian economy does not work like that, if people start
using the Shop Wizard, then SWNC will not always go up.
Q - What is a share?
A - Shares are small pieces of a company. If you have a share, you own a small part of the company. If the price of the
company goes up, then the NP you put into the company will be worth more. Thus you would be making a profit.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Buying
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q - What is the best stock to buy?
A - There is no 'best' stock. However, anything currently at 15, 16, or 17 NP a share is a very good choice.
Q - How many shares of each stock should I buy?
A - Try to buy 1,000 shares of a stock everyday. This should cost 15K to 17K. If you can't afford 15K a day,
then go down to 500 shares or so. If you buy any less, the market is not going to really be worth it.
Q - What do all those words at the top of my portfolio page mean?

The above can be confusing to anyone at first glance.
A -
Keep in mind that to sell your shares, click that grey arrow by the Icon of all the stocks.
Q - I keep getting this message: "ERROR : Sorry, due to regulations you cannot buy stock that is trading
less than 15 NP a share." What does it mean?
A - Exactly what it says, you cannot buy stocks that are 14 or lower. The stock must be at least 15.
Q - Why can't we buy below 15?
A - If we could buy lower, there would be even less risk to playing the market.
The well known 15 - 17 method would turn into the 6 - 8 method.
Basically, TNT has this rule in place because there has to be some challenge to the market, and this is it.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Selling
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q - How do I sell my stocks?
A - Click the grey arrow by the icon of the stock you want to sell, type in how many shares you'd like to sell, then
click the 'Sell Shares' button at the bottom. The button is not there at first, but will appear once you click the grey arrow.
Q - When is a good time to sell my stock(s)?
A - This is a totally personal choice. First off, ask yourself two questions:
1) Are you happy with the profits?
2) Do you need the money now, or will you need it soon?
Choice 1 - If you answered yes to both questions, then you should most likely sell.
Choice 2 - If you answered no to both, then you can risk hanging on for more profit.
Choice 3 and 4 - If you answered no to the first and yes to the second, or vice versa,
then this is where greed will come into play. There is nothing wrong with being greedy,
it's in fact a good way to make even more money. However, keep this in mind:
I'm sorry to tell you, but you're in a no win situation here. No one can sell their stocks at the perfect time, at least not always.
The best thing to do is pick a mark to sell at and stick with that mark. For instance, you may choose to not sell until 30, 45,
60, etc. If you want to wait and go for huge payouts, feel free to, but know that you'll most likely be waiting longer for that NP.
As time goes on, you won't need the money as much, so you want to raise your sell point in the future.
I personally use my Accumulative Growth Method which is explained further below.
There are also other selling techniques explained below.
Never sell at a loss!
Q - Is there a limit to selling, like there is with buying?
A - Nope, you can sell your whole port off one day if you'd like.
Q - If I sell 2K shares of something one day, can I buy 2K shares of something that same day?
A - Nope, it doesn't work like that. You can buy 1K shares each day, no ifs, ands, or BOTTs about it.
Q - Can't anybody tell what will happen to a stock?
A - Again, no. The market is unpredictable and no one could tell you what exactly a stock will reach.
If anybody says otherwise, they are lying.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
General
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q - I got a random event from Nigel telling me to buy a stock, should I?
A - In most cases, no. That random event is... random. He may even pick a stock under the 15 range.
Nigel knows less than you think.
Q - If everybody buys a certain stock, will it go up?
A - No, volume does not affect the market. Just because a bunch of people buy a stock
doesn't necessarily mean it will go up, the market is still unpredictable.
Q - When do the stocks change?
A - The market updates every half hour. At XX:28 and XX:58.
Not all stocks will change during an update though.
Q - How often should I check my stocks?
A - As much as you'd like. Most people tend to look at their port more if they are eager for a sale.
Otherwise, once or twice a day is fine.
Q - My stocks just won't go up, what should I do?
A - Absolutely nothing. Just be patient and your stocks should go up in time. If they are way down, don't panic,
just keep being patient as this doesn't mean they will be bankrupt. Never sell at a loss, patience is the key.
Q - Should I put all my money into one or two stocks and hope they go up?
A - This is called heavily investing or hyperstocking, and it should not be done
unless you have a very diverse portfolio. There are far greater risks to this. The best thing
to do is diversify your portfolio by buying many different companies at the 15 to 17 range.
Don't put all your eggs in one basket.
Q - But won't heavily investing give me more profits?
A - You would think so, but it doesn't. If you were to buy 20K shares of one company and it gets to 30, that's
600K not counting buying costs. But if you were to diversify that 20K shares into five companies let's say, that's
4K shares in five different companies. If all of them were to get to 30 (which is not rare), that's still 600K.
Now what if one of the companies were to bankrupt on either side: don't you think it would be
a lot smarter to lose 4K shares rather than 20K shares of a company?
The fact is, heavily investing will not get you more NP; it will only appear like this because you will be collecting all the NP at
one time. You're going to be hoping for that one day the stock skyrockets, which could take years; years with no profit.
Diversifying will spread out your profit over time, you might get some NP this day, then this day, then a little more that day, etc.
Q - What's the highest you've sold at?
A - I've had 4K shares of YIPP all bought in the 15 - 17 range. I sold 2K at 102, 1K at 150, and the last 1K at 170.
Q - How often do stocks go bankrupt?
A - It's rare so don't worry, once every 8 or 9 months on average, and even
then you may not have those stocks, so don't worry about it.
Q - How many stocks have gone bankrupt?
A - 13 so far.
BBBB on the 4th of February, 2002.
HAKA on the 4th of February, 2002.
SILL on the 4th of February, 2002.

TCAG on the 3rd of August, 2004.
JCK on the 15th of November, 2004.
Q - What was the last stock to go bankrupt?
A - That was JCK which went under on November 15th, 2004, over three years ago now.
This is currently the longest period the market has gone without a bankruptcy.
This was taken from the news that day:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The difference between
RANDOM and UNPREDICTABLE
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Many people say that the Neopian Stock Market is random, many others say that it is unpredictable;
but just what is the difference between those two? Is there a difference? Does it matter?
First, it helps to know what the difference is between the words themselves.
Webster's dictionary defines random simply as lacking order, while unpredictable is defined as unforeseen;
that cannot be anticipated; tending to rash or unexplained action.
There are two ways to consider the different meanings of random and unpredictable:
1 - The market is not random, but unpredictable. Why? Because no one but TNT can definitively say how the market is run.
It could follow some sort of strange pattern that only TNT knows, TNT could play a major role in deciding which
stocks skyrocket and which bankrupt, but the most logical guess is that it is run on some sort of random number generator.
However, no one knows for sure and thus it is considered unpredictable.
2 - Some stocks naturally behave better or worse than others, and some will go up more than others, while some may not
move very much at all. For instance, JCK and POWR are two examples of stocks that have done much better
than other stocks in the past. Keep in mind that just because a stock was or is doing well doesn't necessarily
mean it will always do well, keep in mind that although JCK reached a massive 700+, it went bankrupt later on.
The market is not random, but unpredictable. Why? - No one knows for sure how the market is run but TNT. No one can say that the market is run randomly when they don't actually know for sure. - Some stocks simply do better than others. If the market were truly random, all stocks would have an equal chance of skyrocketing to the heights of JCK or POWR. Based on the history of the market, it is clearly not random. |
Does any of this really matter?
For the average investor, no.
For the serious investor, probably no still.
It's just to satisfy the curiosity in some people.
Since everything is unpredictable, it is impossible to predict what stocks will go up, and unfortunately
there is no 'best' stock. There isn't one stock that will continually go up and down making you a fortune.
Try to invest shares in all the companies. Remember, even though a stock has done incredibly well or horribly
The 15 / 30 Method
bad in the past doesn't necessarily mean it will continue to do the same in the future, it's all unpredictable.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Selling Strategies
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
For the full 15 / 30 Method, check out this other guide. Below is merely a shorter example
(special thanks to outlaw for letting me use it
):
What you want to do for the first roughly 45 days of playing the market, is buy 1,000 shares of
any stock at 15, 16, or 17 NP per share. You can simply play games to earn NP, or any other way
you are comfortable with to get 15K a day, it's not hard with enough effort. Also try to diversify
those shares that you are buying, this means to buy as many different stocks as possible.
So, once you have these 45K shares in your portfolio, you can start selling some shares.Sell off 15K
shares of anything 30 or higher within the next few days, and use that cash to buy another 30K shares.
Since you started roughly 75 days ago, you should have a port of 60K shares or just under 1 mil now.
Now that your port has been built up, and is for the most part self supporting itself, you can continue to follow
the 15 / 30 method continued below, or you can choose a different selling strategy further below.
For the next 3 to 6 months you'll be continuing the 15 / 30 Method, buying 1,000
shares of anything at 15 to 17 NP per share, while also trying to diversify your port. Sell
off 1,000 shares of anything past 30 every other day to pay for 2 days worth of stocks.
By the end of the 6 month period, you should now have a port worth about 150K shares, or almost 2.5 mil NP.
At this point, it is highly recommended that you move on to another selling strategy in the market,
others can get you more cash.
You can continue the 15 / 30 method, but keep in mind that this technique is for building portfolios, and if you do
The Set Sell Point
have a port of 150K shares, you should really move on. There are other techniques to allow for more cash earnings.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Selling Strategies
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is a method that most experienced stockers use. The bigger your port, the better this technique will turn out.
The Set Sell Point Method first needs you to pick a sell point. This sell point is basically
the point at which you would be happy with selling the price of the stock. This point
should be at least 45 NP; otherwise you're pretty much sticking to the 15 / 30 method.
Most sell at roughly between 60 and 70 NP per share. This area has thus far
proven to be the best sell point as most stocks reach this high frequently.
Some people like to rely on the history of a stock, for example, if your sell point is 60 but that stock has never
hit 60 before, you may want to change it for that specific stock. Check out neodaq.com for stock history.
Once you have picked your sell point, you don't have to stick with it forever, if you think
you are making to many sales and want to continue building your port, feel free to
raise your selling price. Or, if you feel you're making to few sales, lower your sell point.
Also keep in mind that selling higher is not always better, fewer stocks make it to 100 NP then 60 NP,
so putting your sell point at 100 NP would (in most cases) earn less NP than selling at 60 NP.
If you are really having trouble picking a sell point, there is one other method, explained further below.
When selling, you also don't have to sell all of your shares. Feel free to sell half, or 1K, or whatever you'd like.
The Incremental Sell Point
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Selling Strategies
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is my personal method when selling stocks.
It has been working well for me in the past.
This method is much like the Set Sell Point technique, however your sell point will move continually.
As I said, this method is much like the Set Sell point but with a few differences.
Again, pick a sell point, one that you are happy with when selling the stock. Let's use 60 in
our example. Also pick another number that we'll call the 'increment value.' This value should be
anywhere from 5 to 15, but feel free to go as ow or high as you'd like. Let's use 10 as our example.
Now, when your stock gets to the sell point (60), don't sell all of the shares, but only a fraction (one third, one half, one
fifth, etc.) of your shares. Continue to sell another fraction of your shares in increments of your 'increment value' (10).
For example, if you have 4K shares of a stock that gets to 90, you could have sold 1K shares
at 60 NP, 70 NP, 80 NP, and 90 NP per share according to our examples.
Another example, if your sell point is 50 and your increment value 5, then you could sell 1K
shares at 50 NP, then 55 NP, then 60 NP, and so on until you run out of shares to sell.
If you have made a few sales and the stock goes way down to 20, let's say, you don't have to
continue the increments. At this time you should probably 'reset' and sell once they hit your sell point
again. Repeat the process, otherwise you're just raising your sell point which would not pay off.
What if a stock jumps multiple increments when you were not looking? Do you sell the
number of increments it jumped by, or just the same fraction of shares? That's up to you.
Keep track of the stock though as it may jump around between your increments a lot.
Try to remember at what points you sold at already and which you didn't. For the
Incremental Sell Point to work, you'd have to sell at the next increment, and not lower it.
I find that this technique works well, as if the stock goes down, you'll have
still made some NP. Give it a try if you are having trouble picking a sell point
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You don't have to stick to all the above rules either, feel free to incorporate a little of all the examples into your ideal method if you'd like, the possibilities are endless. |
Collecting - Collecting is just what it sounds like, collecting shares.
Collectors, as they are sometimes referred to, don't sell very often.
They hold onto their stocks, even if they are presented with the opportunity
of a sale. This can be done for good or bad reasons.
Collecting can be good if you simply want to build your port to a nice size.
For instance, simply collecting stocks until about the 300,000 share range is fine.
Some people get carried away with their port and just have it so they can see how big it can get.
There's nothing wrong with that of course, if that's how you want to play then so be it.
But keep in mind that collectors usually have lower profit than those who actually sell their stocks.
The more opportunities of a sale that is passed up, the more NP that's being burned.
Day Trading - This technique is meant to dish out quick, albeit small profit. Day
trading is when a stock is bought that is usually very high, and sold that same day or very close
to the day it was bought. Since stocks that are very high up tend to fluctuate more than
stocks that are low, the idea is that if a high stock is bought, a quick profit can be made.
For example, a stock bought at 500 could be sold the same day for 550.
If 1,000 shares were bought, that's 50,000 NP earned that day. This is a short term method.
If you've been reading the guide so far you'll notice that this method goes against
everything that has already been taught. It is very rarely used and for good reason.
It's a very risky method that can ultimately lead to great losses just as quickly as great gains.
Know that no day trader has ever made more NP than a long term investor in the long run.
Hyperstocking - Hyperstocking is when shares are purchased of just a select few stocks.
The shares build up over time and eventually the player will have a mass amount in those companies.
When a sale is made, the player can sell all the shares for a massive profit.
For example, a player could buy 100,000 shares of a company over a few months time.
Eventually when the stock rises to 70 for instance, all shares could be sold for 7 million NP at one time.
The idea is to get one huge sale instead of many small sales here and there.
Again, this method is not widely used because the disadvantages outweigh the advantages.
The disadvantages being the risk if that stock bankrupt,
the long wait time until the sale, and the lack of profit up until the big sale.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Keeping Track of Your Stocks
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Some people like to keep track of their stocks. Buys, sales, or other stats can be helpful if you keep track of them.
Keeping track of your stock stats is not necessary of course, do it only if you want to.
The best way to keep track of your stats is through a spreadsheet program of some sort, for example, Microsoft Excel. If you
are good with Excel and know most of the different commands, then feel free to make your own spreadsheet as I have:
This Excel formula can be easily made by anyone, it only uses 3 simple commands; adding, subtracting, and multiplying.
If however you don't want to go through the process of making your own Excel program, don't worry, there is currently
a free program for download from neodaq.com. It is an already made spreadsheet for use with Microsoft Excel:

A few other things to keep in mind
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you still can't decide to sell your stocks, why not talk it up with some kind people on the Stock Tips Chat?
They may be able to help. But remember, some people may not consider your profit a lot or vice versa,
if somebody tells you to sell, keep in mind that it is still your personal choice to sell or not.
You don't have to let others handle your money for you.
If one of your stocks are high and you are debating on selling or not, remember you don't have to
sell all the shares. You can always sell half or so and keep the rest back in hopes of it going up more.
This way you will always get some money and still have a chance to get more.
The bargain stocks list is a list of stocks between 6 and 19. You can use this list to view the stocks at
15, 16, and 17 quickly, and decide what you want to buy for the day a little faster and easier.
A good site is neodaq.com because it has stock charts and you can learn about the market from there also.

Restocking - it used to be my main source of my income, and it's also quite fun if you ask me.
This small FAQs should help you begin RSing for the first time, or RS a little better.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Frequently Asked Questions
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q - What is restocking or RSing?
A - Restocking or RSing (which stands for restocking) is when you buy items from
any shop not owned by a user (Pharmacy, Chocolate Factory, etc) to sell for a profit.
A - Don't worry, there are ways to speed it up. If you don't already have Firefox, then you may be able to find it through a search engine. If you are young and downloading something might get you in trouble, then you really should ask your parents if downloading Firefox is alright. |
Firefox is a type of browser (like Internet Explorer). It is much faster than IE however.
Why? Well for instance, it doesn't use all of the pointless sounds that IE uses, like when clicking
on a link. IE has more things to load because of things like that. Firefox also has a very
nifty and easy to use feature called Adblock, or Adblock Plus. Adblock allows you to
block just about anything but text. This includes images, annoying ads, flash, pop-ups, you
name it. You can find Adblock or Adblock Plus through a search engine. Adblock is very
easy to learn and use. Simply use the asterix for a wildcard. For example, you can block
*neopets.com* and anything with neopets.com in it would be blocked. That would
block nearly everything on Neopets though, so don't do that one obviously, it's just an example.
A - Nothing, it will not be touched by Firefox, so don't worry. Just like Internet Explorer has a big 'e' shapped icon on your desktop, Firefox will also put an icon on your desktop when installed. You'll just click the Firefox icon like you would with the IE icon to browse the internet. Firefox also has a feature to import some things that you

Q - Firefox sounds fine, but is blocking all my ads going to get me frozen?
A - The following is from the Neopian Times Editorial Issue 190, it can explain it best:
So no, blocking your ads is perfectly fine with TNT. Since blocking ads does not give you an advantage over other players.
Q - Can I block the items that I don't buy when I'm restocking?
A - No,
THIS IS AGAINST THE RULES!!
Blocking the items you don't go for while restocking DOES give you an unfair advantage. It allows you to focus on
the best items, allows for easier restocking, and is NOT allowed. I have seen cases of people being frozen for this.
Q - What must I block to get rid of all the Neopets ads?
A - Block the following:
*fastclick*
*doubleclick*
*tribalfusion*
*728ads*
*google-analytics*
*googlesyndication*
*neopets.com/ads*
A - Try starting out at the Pharmacy. The Pharmacy is a good place to learn how to restock. You can research all the items that restock in the Pharmacy from the Hospital. Use to Shop Wizard to look up the prices and to find out what is good to go for when the Pharmacy does happen to restock. |
![]() |
Another great shop to try out when starting is the Magical Bookshop. Almost every book you buy is profitable;
some more than others. This is a great shop to get used to the idea of RSing and improve you skills as well.
Q - What shop should I restock in once I've got the hang of this?
A - This depends on your computer speed and the speed of yourself as well. Some shops stock many more unbuyables
(anything that can't be sold on the shop wiz, 100K ) than others, but those shops are usually harder to restock in.
For instance, Kauvara's Magic Shop stocks the most unbuyables out of all the shops (morphing potions),
however it's very hard to get one because there are so many people in the shop at any given instant. Pick the shop
you are most comfortable in. What I mean is, make sure you restock at a shop where you can earn the max amount
of money in for your personal speed, while at the same time it's not too fast for you. If you find you're not making enough
money, then move to a more profitable / harder shop, if you're making too little money then move to an easier shop.
Q - How can I tell which shops are the most profitable?
A - You can't, not without trying it out first. Pick a shop, any shop, and restock there for a day or two.
If you find it's too hard and you're not getting many items, try to find an easier shop. If you find that you're
getting many items but the profit is just not enough for you, try to find a harder shop. The first few weeks
should be all about researching a shop, a shop you can feel most comfortable restocking in.
Q - What's the box that comes up when I click on an item?
A - It's just asking you if you're sure you'd like to buy the item or not.
It's a good idea to keep a finger on the enter / return key so you can buy the item faster.
Q - I got a few items, now what?
A - Search them up on the Shop Wizard to see the current prices. If you made a
profit on a certain item, then go for it when you see it again. If you lost some NP on an
item, then you'll know not to go for that item next time. This is what is meant by research.
Q - What does the 'Type' of an item mean?
A - This tells what kind of item it is. It can often tell you where the item was restocked from as well.
Q - What does the 'Weight' of an item mean?
A - It's just how much the item weights. It's a totally useless number, not important.
Q - What does the 'Rarity Index' of an item mean?
A - The Rarity Index is to show how rare the item is. For instance r70 - r79 items will stock much more
than r80 - r89 items. In general, the higher the rating, the more it should be worth, but check the shop wiz
first to make sure. The best you can get is pretty much r95 - r99. r99's don't stock often.
If you get very lucky, you'll restock a r100 item. r100 is the best you're gonna get and they are super rare. To give
you an idea of how rare they are, there are only about 4 morphing potions in Kauvara's Magic Shop that are r100.
![]() |
A - This number is NOT how much the items sells for. Always check how much an item is worth on the shop wiz before selling it. This is just a reference for the shop owner, he needs to make a profit too ya know. |
Q - Any tips on buying the items a little faster?
A - First, when you buy the item, ask yourself if you really want to haggle or not. If you're going for an item that
you know will get you a 10K profit, do you really want to haggle a few hundred off the price and risk it being
taken by someone else? Of course not. The only time you should haggle is when the item you're going for would
not be worth buying at its current price. For instance, the Faeries in Kauvara's Magic Shop aren't worth buying at their
current price, but if you haggle them down to a nice point, you may just make some profit.
Second, you don't have to enter in the exact price to get the item. You can go a little above or below
the price and still get the item. Eg/ If the shop keeper is selling an item for 2500, you could type 2444,
2555, 2424, 2442, or a set of other numbers much faster and still get the item. If they sell it for 10000,
you could type in 9999, 9898, 9879, 10101, or another set of numbers and still get it, but much faster.
353 for example, is much easier and faster to type than 358.
You also don't have to get rid of that 0 for the item to be bought.
Q - When do the shops RS?
A - Before June of 2006, each shop restocked items at a specific second; however the minute they restocked
was random. What I mean by this is that all the shop RS times were random, however if they did happen to RS,
they would do it at a certain second of the minute. For example, Kauvara's Magic shop would RS at about
1 or 2 seconds past the minute, Pharmacy was about 8 to 9 seconds past the minute, Book was 7 to 8 seconds
past the minute, Furniture was 15 to 16 seconds past the minute, etc. Each shop had its own time for restocking.
Thus, you didn't need to keep refreshing the page over and over again, just around the time
the shop may have restocked. For instance, it would have been pointless to refresh at
Kauvara's Magic Shop 30 seconds past the minute if it RS at 1 or 2 seconds past the minute.
THIS IS NO LONGER THE CASE HOWEVER!!
In the middle of June, 2006, there were 2 main changes made in the restocking system. These changes were:
What do these changes mean? It means were going to have to get used to a new form of restocking.
I'll address the first change first. Since all restock times are completely random now,
this means we'll all have to refresh a lot more now... a lot more. Expect to be sitting
in front of your computer doing nothing but refreshing or visiting multiple shops.
This also means that we could be restock banned a lot more often now because of all this refreshing.
Now the second change. Before there were any changes in the restock system,
all shops used to restock together. If one restocked, they would all restock. Now
however, this is not how it works. One shop could restock multiple times before another one
does. One could even restock twice in a minute now. It's all completely random.
The one good thing that comes from this new system I think, is the chance for restocking in multiple shops.
You should be restocking two or more shops at any given instant. Since the restock times are random,
the more shops you refresh in, the better your chances are of eventually getting to a restock.
Simply open a few windows and scroll through them and refresh. Don't pick too many shops though,
or you'll have a lot to scroll through and you might miss a restock.
Q - What is RS banned?
A - Being RS banned is when you have refreshed too many times in a shop. You will then become
banned from that shop for a time period. A ban will last anywhere from 1 hour to 24 hours, it's random.
Q - How much money should I carry on me?
A - This depends on which shop you're in. Battle Magic or Defense Magic sells items at hundreds of thousands for
instance. Others sell items at a few thousand or less. I personally try to carry half a mil on me at all times, incase I
come across a rare item and need to buy it.
Just make sure you carry enough on you, I'm sure you'd hate it if you couldn't go for
that unbuyable or something very rare because you weren't carrying enough NP on you.
Q - What is an unbuyable?
A - An unbuyable is a term for an item that you have restocked that can be sold for 100K or more.
Basically, it cannot be sold on the Shop Wizard, hence the term unbuyable.
Q - Are there better times than others to RS?
A - Yes, when most people are not on. As you restock more and more, you'll notice that there are
certain times of the day that you find easier to get items while restocking. Most likely these times are early
in the morning when no one has woken up yet, or late at night when everyone has gone to bed. Try to RS
when you think few people will be on, this will give you quite an advantage. It also depends where you live;
I have found that the best time for me for instance (living in Canada) is about 2 to 7 AM my time (although
I usually can't RS during that time). Others across the world may find that restocking at 2 to 7 pm is best.
Q - What's half price day?
A - Half price day is the 3rd of every month. All the items in the shops will be selling for half price
that day. I personally don't restock on that say because there tends to be many more people are on.
Q - Where do you RS?
A - Throughout my years of restocking, I have moved from place to place, trying to broaden my restocking
skills by restocking in many different shops. So far, I have restocked in such places as the Pharmacy, Chocolate Factory,
Bakery, Space Weapons, Battle Magic, Defence Magic, Kauvara's Magic Shop, Kayla's Potion Shop, Ice Crystals, Ye Olde Petpets,
Merifoods, Magical Bookshop, Booktastic Books, Royal Potionery, Brightvale Armoury, and the Neopian Post Office Kiosk.
I don't restock anymore. I simply don't have the time anymore with college or a job.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Restocking Avatars
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
| Buy a rarity 80 or higher item from the Clothing Shop. | |
| Buy a rarity 90 or higher item from the Chocolate Factory. Anything selling for 5K or higher will get you the avatar. | |
| Buy a rarity 70 or higher item from the Brightvale Motery. |
If you're constantly going for items that cost a specific number (2,500 NP is a common price that
items are stocked at for instance), then you can copy and paste that number to make buys easier.
For instance, you could copy '2500' and paste it when buying anything that stocks for around 2,500 NP.
Be patient when selling an unbuyable. The more expensive and rare it is, the longer you could be waiting
for a decent offer. Don't jump the gun and sell it for the first offer you get or you might regret it.

The Battledome is considered, by most, one of the most expensive things to do on Neo if you want to be any good at it.
Training, as well as buying the right weapons to go with your pet, can put quite a hole in your pocket in the end.
The Battledome is my favourite part of Neopets, as you may be able to tell from my pet.
Intro
I've put well over 40 mil into its training, and paid nearly 30 mil for its weapons. You have
to have a lot of money to be successful at the BD like I said, but if you want to get a
little better, or just want to learn a bit more about the BD, here's the guide for you.

Frequently Asked Questions
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q - What is the Battledome?
A - The Battledome is where you fight your pets against other user pets or computer opponents.
Q - Where is the Battledome?
A - The Battledome is the button to the right of the shop wiz button, that purple Cybunny.
Or you can just use this link.

Training
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q - Where do I train my pet?
A - You have three choices, you can train at the Academy at Krawk Island with Dubloons,
or the Training School on Mystery Island with Codestones. Choice three is explained later.
![]() |
A - Generally, Dubloons are cheaper to buy but you will be training at the Academy longer. Codestones will be a little more expensive, but you can get the training done faster. The Academy is also for pets under level 40 only, so you will eventually have to move to the Training School. |
![]() |
Q - You said I have three choices to train, what's the third?
A - Just like the Academy cannot train you after level 40, the Training School cannot train you
after level 250. Most pets aren't at this level or past it, but if you do manage to get that good,
you'll have to move to the Volcano right by the Training School, Techo Mtn. This school requires
Red Codestones, which can be made from the regular ones.
by clicking here. As most people won't get to train there in their Neopets career, I've took some screenshots. It's actually quite like the regular training school: |

The types of courses:

Just a difference in color between schools really:
This is sort of like the wishing well, only the statue gives a saying of wisdom back:
You can buy an item here every 30 minutes (no haggle) and sell for a quick profit.

Q - You can train at both schools at level 250?
A - If you noticed in the above screenshot, yes you can. Take advantage of it.
Q - Does the Volcano Training School give out bonuses like the other schools?
A - Yup.
A - No, only HP, Strength, Defence, and level are important. Speed is useless in the BD, along with Intelligence. There are a few exceptions to speed or intelligence however like the Heavy Blue Tunic. |
![]() |
Q - Is there a limit to training stats?
A - This can get complicated but I'll try to explain it as best I can.
You can train strength and defence up to twice the amount of your level in all training schools. Hit points works differently; they
can be trained 3 times your level in the Mystery Island and Volcano Training Schools. For example, if you are level 100, you can
get strength and defence to 200 and hp to 300 before having to train your level again. Level can be trained any time.
If you have your hit points past twice your level however, you must get your level up to half hp if you want to
train strength or defence. For example, if you were level 100 with 201 hit points (just over twice the level) and
wanted to train strength or defence, you would have to get level up by 1 before you can train. So you can train hit
points twice your level, but not strength and defence if you do this.
The Academy is different; all stats can be trained twice level.
![]() |
A - Yes, there are certain items like Cool Negg, Strength Serum, Muntando Fruit, etc that can boost a pet's stats. These are generally not used unless you have to use them as they are very expensive. They are a quick way to gain stats however. |
Q - How do you train?
A - I try to put my pet in the Volcano Training School everyday.
I say try because if I get a Zed, Sho, or Kew Codestone, I just cancel the course.
I sometimes do 10 Kitchen Quests also. I also use the lab ray everyday.
It's the cheapest way to train. Faerie Quests help too, although you can't count on them.
Q - How do I cancel a training course?
A - Only those that use the Volcano Training School can cancel a course.
And if a course is canceled, 24 hours must pass before training can continue.
Q - Why Kitchen Quests?
A - When completing a Kitchen Quest, there is a chance that one of your pets will gain a random stat as a reward.
The stat could be good like a Hit Point, or it could be something useless like Agility. You won't always get stats
up keep in mind. If you do wish to use the quests, it's best to pick a mark to stop at. For instance, sometimes he
may ask for a 30K item and if you're on 3 codestones lets say, it wouldn't be worth it to buy the item for
one stat... a chance at one stat that is. I usually spend up to 30K per quest.
Q - Is the lab ray worth it?
A - In most cases, yes. If you use the ray to train then it is a very good help, and most definitely worth it in the long run.
The lab will put your stats up more then down. It's also nice to get some cool colours.
Tip - The lab ray tends to put your level down and hit points up quite a bit. If you don't train in conjunction with the ray,
then you can have trouble training down the road. I've seen many pets that can't train because the ray has put their level
down so much, and raising it to half their hp is a hard and annoying task.
Q - Why use the lab ray when it could put my level down to 1?
A - The lab can only put your level down to 1 if you are level 20 or lower. For example, if you were level 19, you
could go down to level 1, but as soon as you hit level 21, the worst that could happen to your level at that point is -2.
Q - What do all the faeries give you as rewards for quests?
A -
Regular Faeries

Q - I've been training constantly, but notice no increase in attack, why?
A - This may be because you have not reached another strength boost yet.
Q - What's a boost?
A - Boosts are specific numbers at which point you will start doing more damage. These boosts are:
How much more? Like I said, each boost will do more damage per icon:
.5 |
.75 |
1 |
1.25 |
2 |
2.5 |
3 |
4.5 |
5.5 |
6.5 |
7.5 |
8.5 |
9.75 |
11 |
12 |
13 |
14 |
15 |
This means if you were to do 1 icon of attack with the 20 boost, you would do 1 HP of damage.
If you were to do 3 icons of attack with the 350 boost, you would do 23 damage (it's rounded up).
If you were to do 10 icons of attack with the 700 boost, you would do 150 HP damage, etc.
That is not counting abilities that boost the attack like fierce or berserk.
Q - Do these boosts work for defence too?
A - Yes, although this is a little more complicated.
All the boosts and icon multipliers are the same for defence.
Let's say there are 2 pets fighting each other, the first has the 500 strength boost. If one pet attacks
with 5 fire, the damage done would be about 55 according to the 500 strength boost. If the other pet
defended anything but fire, nothing would be defended. What I mean to say is, you need to defend fire
icons if your opponent attacks with fire, you need to defend water if they attack with water, etc.
Back to the example; the one pet attacks with 5 fire icons with the 500 boost doing 55 points of fire damage.
Assume the other pet does not have the 500 defence boost, but instead the 300 defence boost. This is where
it can get complicated. The 300 defence boost pet does NOT have to defend 5 fire icons to cancel
out the attack, they have to defend 55 hit points worth of fire icons based on their boost. 55 (total damage)
/ 6.5 (damage per icon according to the 300 defence boost) = 8.46 (icons). Round it up and about 9 fire icons have
to be defended. If the 300 boost pet defends 9 fire icons, they are essentially defending 59 hit points of fire damage.
Q - What is berserk attack?
A - Berserk attack is an ability your pet can use once you are at level 50.
Like fierce attack, berserk attack will let you do even more damage.
Berserk attack is a constant and does not get stronger as your strength boosts grow.
Q - Can I lose berserk attack, if say the lab ray puts my level down?
A - Yup, if you go below level 50 you would lose it. Getting back to level 50 would give you it back again.

What to Train?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Don't exactly know what to train on your pet?
Don't know which stats to increase and which to leave alone?
Then this section is for you.
This section has been made with the assumption that you will want to train your defence.
Training defence is an option, it is not looked to be as valuable as strength by most players,
however I highly suggest that you do train your defence.
This may look expensive, but if you follow this to the word, this is the cheapest possible way you can train.
Remember, you don't need all this NP at once. All this training can take years, plenty of time to gain more NP.

|
Deckhand - Train your level to 20, then strength, hit points, and defence to 40. Do this in any order. In this case, you actually want to get away from Sea Urchin as soon as possible, as Two Dubloon Coins are cheaper than One Dubloon Coins.
Pirate and Cap'n - Train your strength, hit points, and defence to 80. Train your level to 40. Do this in any order.
Pretty simple so far, right? Now we now move to the trainng school. The Mystery Island Training School is where you'll be training for a very long time. You should have your strength, hp, and defence at 80, and level at 40 by this point. | |
![]() | |
(80 Codestones) Intermediate - Now that your HP is 120, you must train your level to at least 60 before you can train your strength and defence. Get your level to 80, and train your strength and defence to 160 in any order. Bring your HP to 200.
Adept - You should now have your HP at 200, strength and defence at 160, and level at 80. Train level to 100, and strength and defence to 200. Train HP to 240.
Advanced - Train level to 120. Strength and defence can go to 240. HP can go to 300.
Expert - Now train your level to 150. Train strength and defence to 300. Train HP to 400.
| |
![]() |
|
(2,450 Codestones) Grand Master - Moving straight on to the Volcaneo Training School is going to seem very appealing while at this point, since training will be much faster. I don't recommend you do so however. Train level to 250, strength and defence to 500, and HP to 598.
Congratulations, you will have come a long way if you made it this far, but it's only going to get tougher now. Take a deep breath and say hello to the red codestone. Intermediate - Train level to 299. Train strength and defence to 598. Leave HP at 598.
Adept - Train Level to 350. Train strength and defence to 700. From this point, you no longer need strength or defence, and you can train solely HP. Luckily you can train your HP 3 times your level, so you'll be on 2 red codestones for quite some time. You can get your HP all the way up to 1,200 from here before moving on to 3 red codestones. |
Q - What are the different types of icons?
A - There are 7 different types:
Air, Darkness, Earth, Fire, Light, Physical, and Water.
Some are more commonly used than others.
Q - What is a good amount of icons for a weapon?
A - The minimum for a fair set is 6 icons for one multi-use item. Refer to which weapons to get later on.
Some weapons can do variable icons, meaning they will not always do the same thing. When thinking about
buying these weapons, it's best to take into consideration the average amount of icons dealt. Obsidian Dagger
for instance, can be referred to as 6 + 2 icons or 6 to 8 icons, meaning it will do either 6, 7 or 8 icons of damage.
Q - Is the BD all about attacking and defending?
A - No, there are other things you can do to add some strategy to the Battledome.
For instance: freezing, stealing, bombs, using faerie abilities, etc.
![]() |
A - Freezing an opponent makes them not able to do anything the next turn. This can devastate most any opponents. A good freezer is essential to anybody serious in the BD. I recommend going for an H4000 Helmet as soon as you can, as this is the cheapest 100% freezer. Until then, cheaper freezing weapons are things like the frost cannons. Try to get a Black Frost Cannon as this has the highest rate of freezing. Or a Snowglobe Staff if you can't afford the BFC. |
A - You can steal weapons from your opponent with certain items such as Green Sticky Hand. Generally, most people don't use stealing weapons as it wastes a turn just to get the item from your opponent, and you may not even get it then. But like I said, this could be used as a strategy, for instance if your opponent has really good weapons. If you do manage to steal a weapon, your opponent will then get the sticky hand. The steal is not permanent when done the battle, so don't worry about losing your weapons. |
![]() |
![]() |
A - Bombs are one use items or once per battle items that do massive damage, more than your multi-use weapons. They are sometimes paired up with a freeze weapon; this is called a 'freeze bomb' combo. This is done to offset the low damage from your freezing weapon. |
Q - What are faerie abilities?
A - Faerie abilities are given to you if you use a Bottled Faerie. You can get a list of most of the abilities here.
Make sure you are at least the level by at the side so the Bottled Faerie is not wasted. It doesn't matter
if you are a higher level, you will get them in order no matter what.
Q - How can I get the level of an ability up?
A - Ability levels are useless right now, so don't worry about that. An ability will have the same
effect regardless of its level. Whether TNT plans on changing that one day I don't know.

Recommended Faerie Abilities
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

| Faeries - 4th Bottled Earth Faerie Level - 10 | Faeries - 8th Bottled Dark Faerie Level - 30 |
| Defends 97.5% of the following icons: | Defends 97.5% of the following icons: |
| As you can see, both Burrow and Sink defend 97.5% of water, fire, and physical icons. The only difference is that Burrow also defends earth and air icons, while Sink also defends dark and light icons. It is highly recommended that you get both these abilities as soon as you can. | |
![]() |
| Faeries - 7th Bottled Dark Faerie Level - 21 |
| Steals 11% of your opponent's HP and adds it to your own. Up to a maximum of 100 HP. |
| This ability is particularly good when facing much tougher opponents. This can pretty much take off 100 HP from their attack (when you get a full heal) by taking it from their HP and adding it back on to your own. To get a full heal of 100 HP; your opponent will need to have at least 905 HP. This ability is typically used the first turn when your opponent will have his/her most HP and you can get the most use out of it. |
![]() | ![]() | ![]() |
| Faeries - 8th Bottled Earth Faerie Level - 23 | Faeries - 8th Bottled Water Faerie Level - 27 | Faeries - 7th Bottled Light Faerie Level - 22 |
| Heals 33% of total lost HP | Heals 33% of total lost HP | Heals 33% of total lost HP |
| This ability gets better as you get stronger. For example, this would heal much more for a 300 HP pet than it would for a 100 HP pet. All these abilities do the same thing so there is no use getting them all. Get the one easiest to get for yourself. | ||
![]() | ![]() | ![]() |
| Faeries - 4th Bottled Water Faerie Level - 9 | Faeries - 5th Bottled Water Faerie Level - 12 | Faeries - 6th Bottled Water Faerie Level - 16 |
| Defends all fire icons | Defends all light icons | Defends all water icons |
| These abilities won't be used often if you do happen to get these. If your opponent does however use something like a Portable Kiln, Quench for instance would completely block that weapon as it does 11 fire icons. With that said, still consider getting these, especially if you know your opponent will be using a lot of fire, water, or light icons. | ||
You must turn on your faerie abilities here before you can use them.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Building a Battledome Set
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The big question now, what weapons should you get? This first depends on how much money
you have. Don't worry too much about NP though, you can get a basic starter set for very cheap.
In most cases, you should have 2 multi use attacking items at a time. I say in most cases because
some more experienced battlers may have 3 or more multiple use weapons, or spare weapons.
A basic set should consist of at least 2 multiple use items, and 1 healing item.
Since there are hundreds upon hundreds of weapons, I think it's easiest if I list a bunch of
good weapons in order of cheapest to most expensive, what they do, and rate them.
All items on this list are worthwhile; you just will have some choices to make.
There are two important things beside each weapon name:
This will tell you how good the weapons are, in my opinion:
** = Great! *** = Very Good!! |
Each weapon will also be coloured to tell you, roughly how much that weapon will cost.
This way it will be a little easier for you to build a set based on your budget.
Keep in mind that these prices may fluctuate due to war or retirement.
This is an item that will cost less than 10,000 NP.
This is an item that will cost between 10,000 NP and 500,000 NP.
This is an item that will cost between 500,001 NP and 2,000,000 NP.
This is an item that will cost between 2,000,001 and 10,000,000 NP.
This is an item that will cost more than 10,000,000 NP.
Offensive Weapons
***Bone Sceptre - 6 icons (2 air, 2 dark, and 2 earth). One of the many 6 icon weapons, this however is probably the cheapest one you'll find anywhere.
**Cobrall in a Can - 6 icons (3 dark and 3 light). One of the many 6 icon weapons. This does the same as a Scroll of Dark Nova but is less expensive.
**Scroll of Moon Light - 6 light icons. One of the many 6 icon weapons. If you use this in 2P watch out for Dusty Magic Broom.
***Mud Mixture - 5.2 earth icons plus a 1 to 5 HP heal; can be used once per battle. These are great for low level battlers with up to about 50 HP. Once you've gotten a hold of 2 multiple use weapons, a weak healer, and a freezer, then consider filling up the rest of your set with these.
**Battle Ready Pencil Box - 7 icons (3 earth, 2 light, and 2 physical). A very cheap 7 icon weapon.
**Golden Handled Long Sword - 7 icons (2 air, 2 light, and 3 physical). A very cheap 7 icon weapon.
**Obsidian Dagger - 5.21 plus 2.79 icons or 5.21 to 8 icons. For a starter weapon, I would get this or the Scarab Ring. Both are very cheap. Pick the scarab ring if you want a little defence, or the dagger for a little more attack.
**17-Pound Trout - 6.65 plus 2 icons or 6.65 to 8.65 icons. A slightly better version of the Obsidian Dagger. Nice if you can't quite afford a 9 iconer.
***Von Roo Dice - 6 plus 3 icons, or 6 to 9 icons. A slightly better version of the Obsidian Dagger. Nice if you can't quite afford a 9 iconer.
**Earth Faerie Slingshot - 7 plus 2 icons, or 7 to 9 icons. A slightly better version of the Von Roo Dice. Nice if you can't quite afford a 9 iconer.
***Fighting Folder - 6 plus 2 icons; also gives a 2 HP heal each use. I really like this weapon; a multiple use attacking weapon with an added heal is very unique at this low level of battling, it's like an Obsidian Dagger with a small heal. The 2 HP heal will get less and less significant over time as you get stronger however. Only good for low level battlers who can really make use of that 2 HP (or 4 HP if you use two of these) heal.
*Florbix Blaster - 7.73 icons (1.73 air, 3 earth, and 3 water). This is where weapons start to get a little more expensive. Burrow will block this completely, but it is more reliable then the Obsidian Dagger.
**Halo of Devilpuss - 6 to 10 icons. A nice weapon with dark attack. Sink will stop all of it, but for its price, it's still a very nice, cheap buy. NQ2 Evil mode prize.
**Gold Handled Katana - 8 icons (3 earth, 2 fire, and 3 physical). The icons could be a little better, but on the whole it's still good because it's an 8 icon weapon that's buyable from the shop wizard.
**Electro Sword - 8 icons (3 fire, 3 light, and 2 physical). A nice cheap 8 icon weapon buyable from the shop wizard.
**Skeletal Fire Gun - 8 icons (6 fire, and 2 light). A pretty good icon combination, also buyable from the shop wizard.
**Curious Sticks of Lethal Wax - 7 to 9 icons (2 air, 2 earth, 2 light, and 1 to 3 physical). 7 to 9 icons is quite good for the price. Look towards one of the three bows below for upgrades or alternatives.
**Enchanted Wooden Bow - 2 air, 2 fire, 2.65 light, plus 0.2 to 2 physical icons (6.85 to 8.65 total) I would say this weapon is a little better than the Halo of Devilpuss, as it's cheaper, has more icon variety, and has a better minimum damage amount. Great if you still can't afford a 9 or 10 iconer yet.
**Spectral Forest Bow - 6.85 plus 2.8 or 6.85 to 9.65 icons. I would say this weapon is a little better than the Halo of Devilpuss, as it's cheaper, has more icon variety, and has a better minimum damage amount. Great if you still can't afford a 9 or 10 iconer yet.
**Earth Faerie Bow - 8 to 9 icons (2 air, 3 earth, 2 fire, and 1 to 2 physical). I would say this weapon is a little better than the Halo of Devilpuss, as it's cheaper, has more icon variety, and has a better minimum damage amount. Great if you still can't afford a 9 or 10 iconer yet.
**Tyrannian Lupe Tooth - 8.66 icons (3 earth, 2.66 fire, and 3 physical). A decent and cheap item. Consider saving straight for the Ice Club or Stone Club.
***Stone Club - 9 icons (3 air, 3 physical, and 3 earth). For a 9 icon weapon that's buyable on the wiz, you can't go wrong. If you don't care about defence much, pick this up for 1P and 2P battles.
***Ice Club - 9 icons (3 air, 3 physical, and 3 water). Another good 9 iconer buyable on the wiz.
***Jittery Jipple Potion - 6 or 10 icons. In 2P battles, this will do 6 icons if your opponent has 9 intelligence or less, otherwise it will do 10 icons. This will always do 6 icons in 1P.
***Steaming Skeem Potion - 8 or 11 icons. In 2P battles, this will do 8 icons if your opponent has 19 intelligence or less, otherwise it will do 11 icons. This will always do 8 icons in 1P.
*Pike Pike - 9 icons, 4.5 of both water and light. This is a nice alternative to the Scuzzys Comb or Ramtors Spellbook if you can get it cheaper than the two. Look to the Essence of Esophagor or Golden Compass first though, you may be able to get it cheaper.
*Essence of Esophagor - 9 icons; 4.5 earth and water. Great for 1P battles, however this could get completely blocked in 2P by a Leaf Shield. There are alternatives to this 9 iconer though.
**Scuzzys Comb - 10 icons (5 light and 5 physical). Given out as NQ2 evil mode prize. They will only get more expensive if war inflation happens, otherwise it will always go down from being constantly being released. Good weapon, 10 iconers are something everybody should work towards. Ramtors Spellbook is usually considered better though, as all 10 icons will get through Burrow but all 10 will be blocked by Sink, as apposed to Scuzzys Comb where 5 will get through Burrow, and none through Sink. If you want a cheaper 10 icon weapon, look towards the Essence of Esophagor.
**Ramtors Spellbook - 10 icons (5 light and 5 darkness). Given out as NQ2 evil mode prize. They will only get more expensive if war inflation happens, otherwise it will always go down from being constantly being released. Good weapon, 10 iconers are something everybody should work towards. Ramtors Spellbook is usually considered better than Scuzzys Comb, as all 10 icons will get through Burrow but all 10 will be blocked by Sink, as apposed Scuzzys Comb where 5 will get through Burrow, and none through Sink. If you want a cheaper 10 icon weapon, look towards the Essence of Esophagor.
**Prickly Potion - 6 icons (3 fire and 3 darkness). This item is very unique because the icons you attack with show up as reflected icons. That means this weapon cannot be defended, and you attack with your opponents strength boost. This is very valuable if you're going up against someone much stronger with you. An upgrade is the Glowing Cauldron.
***Chilli Sword - 8 fire icons. This weapon is sometimes used as a backup in 2P sets because it completely gets through Ghostkershield. An upgrade would be the Portable Kiln.
**Staff of Righteous Fury - 7.5 to 12 icons. Known as the worst NeoQuest II InSaNe prize. Consider keeping for use if you won it through NeoQuest II.
**Sword of Apocalypse - 8.47 to 13 icons. The 3rd best NeoQuest II InSaNe prize. Consider keeping for use if you won it through NeoQuest II.
*Royal Wedding Ring - 9 plus 2 or 9 to 11 icons. An alternate substitute for the Ramtors Spellbook and Scuzzys Comb. Go with the other two in most cases. Only get this if you want some diversity in icons and you can find it cheap.
**Bzzt Blaster - 11 icons (3 air, 3 water, and 5 light). A little more expensive and harder to find, but a nice small upgrade from the 10 iconers. Good if you can't afford a Wand of Reality or Bow of Destiny as well.
**Fungus Ray - 11 icons (3 dark, 3 earth, and 5 water). A little more expensive and harder to find, but a nice small upgrade from the 10 iconers. Good if you can't afford a Wand of Reality or Bow of Destiny as well.
**Goo Blaster - 11 icons (3 earth, 3 physical, and 5 water). A little more expensive and harder to find, but a nice small upgrade from the 10 iconers. Good if you can't afford a Wand of Reality or Bow of Destiny as well.
**Garoo Elite Blaster - 11 icons (3 earth, 5 fire, and 3 physical). A little more expensive and harder to find, but a nice small upgrade from the 10 iconers. Good if you can't afford a Wand of Reality or Bow of Destiny as well. As far as the 11 iconers go, this is considered by most to be the one with the best icons.
***Ylanas Blaster - 12.63 icons (2 air, 3 earth, 5 fire, and 2.63 physical). If you were to tell me when I first started Neopets that I could one day get a nearly 13 icon multiple use weapon for roughly 600K, I'd say that's impossible. This is a great weapon to get while it's cheap.
*Portable Kiln - 11 icons, all fire. If you are a 2P battler and keep getting a Ghostkershield used against you, this is the item to go for. All 11 fire icons will get through. If you're a 1P battler however, look to the cheaper Bzzt Blaster / Fungus Ray / Goo Blaster / Garoo Elite Blaster for 11 icons, or save a bit more for Wand of Reality or Bow of Destiny.
***Bow of Destiny - 13 icons (5 air, 3 fire, and 5 earth). This is where the Battledome will start to really get expensive for most. This is also given out as a prize for NQ2, but on InSaNe mode. 10 icons (5 earth and 5 air) will make it through Sink, but everything will be blocked by Burrow.
***Wand of Reality - 13 icons (5 air, 5 light, and 3 physical). This is where the Battledome will start to really get expensive for most. This is also given out as a prize for NQ2, but on InSaNe mode. The 5 light will get through Burrow and the 5 air will get through Sink, making this slightly better than the Bow of Destiny for 2P in my opinion.
**Ultra Bubble Gun - Attacks with 10, 15, or 20 icons. This has the potential to do 20 icons which sounds nice, but you can't always count on that.
**Werelupe Claw Necklace - 13.4 to 18 icons. This is a big jump from the Bow or Wand, but it's worth it. If you have 2 of these items or better, you can get rid of your Honey Potion at this point, as the Honey Potion is 13.3 to 16. Werelupe Claw Necklace is usually just a temporary item until you can get a Sword of Skardsen or better. Sword of Skarden's icons are much more better for an extra 3 mil more or so.
*Dull Stone Axe - 12 to 19 icons (5 light, 5 physical, and 2 to 9 earth). The Werelupe Claw Necklace is very similar, it's almost a tossup when it comes to choosing one or the either.
*Glowing Cauldron - 10 icons, all fire. This item is like the Prickly Potion in the fact that it will attack by reflection. That is to say, the icons cannot be defended, and you are attacking with your opponent's strength boost. It's commonly used against opponents with a much higher strength boost than the one using it. You must click first for this to work though. It's a complicated little weapon, but IDB has a good explanation on how exactly it works.
***Sword of Skardsen - 16.25 to 24 icons. A truly great weapon for its price. Most all good battlers would have owned one of these weapons in the past. The only threat to it is in 2P;
