When I was a young cub, two or three, I was just a normal green kougra. I lived with my mother, Kiekara (deseased,)who took very good care of me. I had many brothers and sisters and I was happy. But one faitful day, the enemies came. They burned and robbed our village. My mother and brothers and sister were all viciously murdered but she had hid me in the back of our cave so I wasn't found.

Four days past before I came out of hiding, I didn't want to run into the same people that killed my family. When I ventured out into the light, I saw my family dead, my mother was lying over my brothers and sisters, as if she was trying to protect them. I wept for hours before burrying them.

After I had greaved and mourned, I set out on my own, not being able to stay in that place. To this day I haven't returned to my mother's grave. After days and nights of traveling, I found a village, but it wasn't of any animal that I knew off. It was a Human village. Tired and hungry from the days of traveling and not eating, I collapsed in front of a house.

I was passed out for several hours before I awoke. I woke up in front of a fire on a cold hard stone floor. There was a man and a woman sitting in chairs reading books. They looked up when I started to walk around the woman stood up and examined me. She picked me up.

Not the prettiest thing is it?" She asked her husband. "No, it's just plain ugly." She was poking and prodding every inch of my body. "Not much meat on it, It would be pointless to eat the thing. Maybe it could be of some use to us." She just dropped me and I fell four feet, breaking my paw. She ignored me though and walked back to her chair.

Over the next two years I worked for the man and woman, doing chores, cleaning the floor with my tongue, fetching things and other useless things. They abused me and if I didn't do something right, they whipped me. My fur turned from a bright emerald to a sickly shade of green from not eating properly. From repeated beating, I got permenatly bruised scars around my tail, face, legs and body. My eyes had turned red from lack of sleep. I was a mutant.

One night, I escaped. The man and woman usually locked the door but they accidentaly left it open after getting intoxicated. I stole into the night, not knowing where to go, only knowing that I could never go back.

For five years I was on my own, sometimes living off the generocity of humans but I never stayed in a house longer then a day, for fear of being a slave again.

One day I was walking down a street in Neopia when a Pound catcher came down the street, I tryed to run but they were too fast. I was captured again. Now about 10 years old I had grown wise of the dangers of humans and I tried to escape from the pound so I could be free but everything i tried failed.

After a year of being in the pound and people just walking past me, thinking I was just ugly, A girl came in with a Fire Acara, She held his hand as he walked. I could tell that she wasn't like the people I had known before. A huge neopet followed them. A ghost lupe but it was more like a horse, it could barely fit in the door. I was frightened so I hid at the back of the cage. She was looking at all the Kougras when she came upon me.

Aww, don't be scared little one, I won't hurt you." She stuck her fingers through the cage. I got up and walked over to sniff them. She smelled like peaches. She pet my head, ignoring the scars. I smiled. I liked her. The Acara came over and stuck his paw through the bars. I started playing with it. The girl smiled and said to the Pound Owner, "I like her, how much will she be?" I got excited. I was going to a good home.

When the girl had finished paying. She came over, opened the cage and picked me up. "I'm Rae" she said. I played with her pink hair. It was funny. "I'm going to name you Seukara. Do you like that name?" I licked her cheek, Rae laughed. "Come on Dare, Keinra, lets take little Kara home." I snuggled into her arms I was going to a good home.
