Hey there guest, glad you dropped in.

Introduction

I would like to begin by saying that I am not a professional kad feeder and neither do I claim to be. Here I will simply have a few tips that helped me to feed my first kad, and second, and so on, for all of you out there who have never fed and would like to give it a try. First of all, I want to point out what your rewards are for being so friendly to the kads.

Bronze Trophy=Feed 1 kad

Silver Trophy=Feed 10 kads

Gold Trophy=Feed 25 kads

Mew!" Avatar=Feed 75 kads

Now, please allow me to squash a common myth. Kadoaties do not always ask for UB's (unbuyables) Quite to the contrary! Kad's ask for anything from Squishy Brain Wraps to Gruel Cakes, which are currently going for a whopping 25 np's on the Shop Wiz', which is extremely affordable for the average Neopian!

Common Terms on the Kad Boards
Kad=Kadoatie
RS=Restock
UB=Unbuyable
GLF=Good luck feeders/good luck feeding
GLMF=Good luck mini feeders
HN CF=Had nothing, congrats feeders (or vice versa)
HN=Had nothing
CF=Congrats Feeders
CMF=Congrats mini Feeders
Main=The main RS is when all or the majority of the kads will RS (which means there will be all new kads to feed, as the previous on es that were fed have already went home and there's a whole new batch of kads that are hungry.)
Mini=This happens when someone feeds a UB, which is when on ly on e or two of the kads will RS
Merge=This happens when a Main and a Mini RS merge together.
RF=Refresh

Getting Started

First off, you need to choose how you will feed. The main types of feeding are: Inventory feeding, SDB feeding, and Shop Wiz feeding. I personally Inventory Feed because I find that it's easier, but everyone is different.

Inventory Feeding
If you are going to inventory feed, it's pretty simple really. Choose several 'affordable' foods from a kad food list and go out and buy them. Make sure your inventory doesn't have more than 50 items because TNT can and will freeze you for feeding kadoaties with more than 50 items in your inventory because it's considered cheating. Fill your inventory with the foods that you pick. Here is an awesome food list to help you out with this task.

Now that you have your inventory full of kad foods, that's pretty much it. Go over your inventory several times and try your best to memorize the foods you have. I found it helpful to write the names of the foods down in a notebook and read them over and over just to help me remember what I have, and after I feed a certain food from my list, I buy it again so that I don't have to change what I feed. If you buy new items, you have to memorize those items, so I just stick to feeding certain foods. Now, you're ready for the next part which is understanding times, etc.

SDB Feeding
You can actually inventory feed or SDB feed. If you have the kad foods in your inventory but they ask for something you know you have in your SDB, then this is when SDB feeding would come in handy. All you have to do is keep another wind0w open to your SDB and if you see an item pop up that's in your SDB, quickly find it (there is now a search bar) so you can either copy & paste the item name or type it in, whichever is quicker for you. Remove the item as quickly as possible, then bring up the wind0w for the Kadoatery and click on the Kad. I don't use this method but it does work, although a bit more complicated and not quite as successful.

Wiz Feeding
Wiz (short for Shop Wizard) Feeding is very successful if you are lucky and you are fast! Sometimes the kads will ask for something that nobody has, so you have a very good chance of feeding it. If you plan to Wiz Feed, simply choose a food that is still there (unfed) after you refresh on e time (because most inventory feeders are able to feed the majority of kads very quickly) but there may still be on e left that's unfed. Make sure that you have another wind0w open to the Shop Wizard. Quickly copy & paste the name of the food into the search box on the Shop Wiz. Click on the first shop that comes up (this can be expensive because you don't have time to refresh to get the cheapest price) and buy the item as soon as possible. As soon as you click on it to buy it, bring your Kadoatery wind0w back up and click on the kad as quick as you can. This works for some people, and doesn't for others. You will be able to determine which feeding method is right for you.

How do I get the main and mini RS times?
First you need to go under "Boards", under the Games section and find a board with "Kadoatery" or "Kad" anywhere in the topic. (Usually will be something like "The Kadoatery", "The Kad's are Hungry", etc.) Scan the most recent page and see if anyone has the RS time in their siggy or post. You can also use Ctrl†F (find) and type in the word "main", etc and if it's anywhere on that page, it'll find it for you, so you don't have to ask for the current RS times. If you don't see it there, then simply ask for the RS time, but please be polite about it and I'm sure that a feeder will be able to help you.

But what does it mean?
once you find out what time the next RS is, go ahead and open up a separate wind0w and go to the Kadoatery.

Where is the Kadoatery you ask?? The Kadoatery has recently been relocated to the Neopian Plaza.

Now, RS times can be pretty tricky, but on ce you get used to the idea, it's actually pretty simple. If someone tells you that the next RS is :53 for instance, that means, :53 minutes after the current hour (NST). So, for example, if it is currently 2:35 NST and the RS time is :53 then you will want to refresh the kadoatery at exactly 2:53:00 (hours/minutes/seconds)This is the simplest way that I know how to explain it. The Kadoatery will RS at exactly :00 seconds.

The Kadoatery doesn't always RS on time. It can RS anywhere between 30-50 minutes from the last RS. Therefore, you need to refresh every minute at :00 seconds. If the Kadoatery doesn't RS yet, it means it's pending, which means it will happen soon, you just have to be patient and keep refreshing every minute. Say the Main is :53, you will want to refresh at :53 minutes past the hour and :00 seconds past the minute. If it doesn't RS at that time, keep refreshing at :00 seconds past the minute until it does. on ce you refresh and see that the kad's are asking for new items, that is your first RS.

You can figure out the RS times for yourself by simply adding :30 minutes to the last RS time. For instance, if the kadoatery RS'ed at 2:53 pm(NST), then the next RS would be at 3:23 pm(NST). Just add 30 minutes to the actual RS time. on ce you see that it has RS'ed and the kads are asking for foods, quickly scan the list of foods and click on the kad as quickly as possible if you have the food in your inventory. If not, then you can SDB feed or Wiz Feed (which I went over earlier). Here is what the kads will look like during a RS when they are asking for foods.

Well, I think that about covers it. I really do hope that you found this guide to be helpful and I wish you the best of luck on feeding your first kad and one day getting the avvie!!
