X Isle:
There is a small volcanic island covered by a lush but eerie forest that, although the volcano is still active, has yet to burn down. In the dark depths of the forest, a large stone cold cave rests quietly beside a calm icy river that flows peacefully through the forest. Every tree produces some sort of berry, making food shortages unheard of. Scientists have tried to study the island countless times with all explorations ending in complete failure and often the loss of men. However one scientist was able to catch something amazing on film; a dark figure with glowing ice eyes glaring at him from deep within the forest...
Riq's Rage Less Day
A pair of ice blue eyes glared at a scientist standing on the shore of a small volcanic island, simply known as X Isle. A hatred burned deep within these eyes as they watched the foolish humans prance upon their last stop in life and the owner of the eyes would see to their last breath. A pair of dragon wings rested on the back of this creature and razor claws gleamed in the faint traces of light. This creature gave one final glare before it charged at the humans with a furious rage. Screams of horror erupted from the shore along with the breaking of bones and the sound of motors starting up. The scientists and their helpers scrambled onto the boats, they had come on, as they desperately tried to get away. After a few minutes the shore of the island was silent as the creature quietly slipped into the forest without a trace. The creature however, was not alone as another one with soft sea green eyes watched the boats vanish from sight before jumping into the icy river and disappearing under the water.
The icy eyes belonged to a Lutari with dark grey fur, purple markings and dragon wings. A gold earring on his left ear reflected the faint rays of sunshine that poked through the tree branches and after his attack on the scientists; you could say this Lutari doesn't like humans very much. Riq, as his younger sister and twin brother call him, actually hates everything and often shows his hatred by attacking something. Yama is normally the main target of his rage and has three scars on his left flank as proof of his twin's temper.
Riq stopped by the icy river that runs through the forest as he scanned the area for possible intruders, but as normal nothing unusual could be found. He didn't know why he agreed with his twin brother to patrol their island home when the only threats showed up on the shores of the island and especially from the ground. True the sky seemed like no place for a Lutari, but it was the perfect place to watch the island and although he had wings Riq rarely used them. A light breeze carried an unfamiliar scent passed Riq and he immediately went on total alert. This scent though was mingled with the scent of Yama and Riq wondered what his good for nothing twin was up to, again. He spread his wings and with one good leap, took to the sky. However, Riq had spotted Yama almost instantly, standing in front of a tree, when he was high enough above the trees and landed quietly a few feet away.
While Riq settled down next to a berry bush to watch what Yama was doing something shiny caught his eye and he let out a snarl. That idiot, going after treasure again! One of these days I'll... Riq's thoughts were interrupted by the sound of claws meeting tree bark as he watched Yama hoist himself up. Although he couldn't hear or even cared to hear what Yama and this little bird were saying, Riq noticed that Yama's persuasion acts weren't working. An evil smirk appeared on Riq's face as he watched his twin lunge at the bird and miss. How are you going to get down, hmm... dear brother? Riq silently said to his twin as he let out a low growl and cursed the wind. The smell of humans drifted on the wind and Riq wondered why the idiotic scientists were back so soon. Getting up, Riq slipped away quietly and headed back to the beach with no concern on what happens to Yama.
Upon his arrival to the beach, Riq spotted the human who had taken a picture of him and a few other humans sitting nervously in a boat. Riq smirked at the sight of the human looking for his camera in the sand and remembered that in the commotion the human had dropped that wretched thing. The confusing part was, where did that camera go? Riq knew that he had done nothing with it and that the human obviously wouldn't be back if he had the camera. He snarled viciously when the human ventured to close to the forest and the human mumbled something before racing back to his boat. Before Riq could snarl again, the humans were leaving the island in a hasty manner and Riq thought to himself. Yama never comes to this side of the island, the humans obviously don't have that thing, so where is it? Hmm, I wonder... A name popped into Riq's mind as he made his way back to the den where he slept and he wondered if Yama ever got down from that tree. With great hope that he didn't, Riq growled the name of the creature that had the camera… Kai!
Hatred
Riq's hatred for everything and bursts of rage are a result of a very bad encounter. He was always arrogant, but never attacked or threatened anyone he was related to until the day the scientists first came to X Isle. On that day, Riq had been sleeping near the beach when the roar of motors and mumbling of humans arrived. He hadn't really taken any interest in these new visitors but the scientists on the other hand had taken a huge interest in him. They had never seen such a creature before and wished to study it, but their only problem was all Riq seemed to do was sleep during the day. At night the island was to dark to explore and almost impossible to locate the exact location of Riq, so the scientists plotted on a way to be able to find their mysterious creature. A few days later while Riq was dozing, the scientists placed a tracking collar around his neck and attempted to wake him up. Nothing seemed to rouse Riq out of his sleep until one of the scientists shot at a tree and Riq jumped awake in surprise. However, much to the scientists' dismay Riq pulled the collar of his neck with his sharp claws and took of into the forest. With hope still in their minds the scientists and their assistants grabbed some equipment and followed Riq. After an hour of running, the scientists found Riq standing by a river and one of the assistants launched a net at him. Once captured, Riq was tranquillized and hauled back to the beach.
When Riq awoke, he found himself in a cage with wires hooked up to him and the strange humans talking nonsense to each other. The weird machines that the wires were connected to beeped and buzzed to a non-existent song. Riq watched as one scientist walked over to the cage with an ice blue bracelet and mumbled something before he opened the door to the cage. Then the scientist placed the bracelet on Riq's left foreleg and this made something in Riq's mind snap. He immediately let out a furious snarl as he lounged at the scientist, tearing him to pieces with his claws and then attacking the other humans. The scientists and their assistants grabbed the guns and began to open fire on Riq. This only made him more irritated, that he spread his wings and took to the sky. A few minutes later, silence fell upon the beach as Riq's ice eyes burned a new hatred towards the fleeing humans and this hatred was also directed towards every living thing.
Although the humans still come to the island to explore, Riq is ready to drive them off and anyone else that he sees as an enemy. The ice blue bracelet on his left foreleg is a reminder to him that he must destroy every intruder that comes to his home and anyone that gets in his way; including his own family if he has to. He believes that in doing this the war within his mind will end and he'll be free…
