.:Story:.
Summer Nights
I started out life as a tiny palomino filly, with a white splash across my face and white stockings covering my legs up to my knees and hocks. I was always smaller than the other foals, and that is a trait that has stayed with me throughout my life.
The herd that I lived in was a small and quiet one, but the lead stallion was young and inexperienced, often breaking into the paddocks where two-leggers kept their horses and stealing a few mares, bringing them back to the herd. Often the mares had a halter on them, and a couple of times he brought back some with saddles and bridles. But all the tame ones he stole had horse shoes.
One summer, he brought back a fiesty chestnut mare, who loved to gallop around. That summer was a dry one, dryer than we'd ever seen. Soon the lake dried up and we had to walk quite some distance to the river; the only water source for miles.
Fire
On one extremely hot day, this mare was cantering around, undisturbed by the heat. Most of the herd thought she was crazy, to be exercising in this weather; everyone else was hiding beneath whatever shade they could find, with only enough strength to keep the flies away.
The mare began to jump a log near a bunch of rocks, but she only jumped it twice before tiring. As she began to trot back to the herd, her hoof knocked against a rock. Her shoe caused a spark to fly off it, which landed in the dry yellow grass, baked by the sun without a drop of water all summer long.
Within seconds, the grass was alight. Then the herd switched into panic mode. The lead stallion was the first one to flee, galloping into the forest. The mares followed moments later. I scrambled to my hooves and took off after the herd, dodging trees and leaping over roots which came out of the ground. Behind me I could hear the fire crackling, and I smelled the smoke.
Death?
I dared a glance behind me, and saw that the fire was huge, devouring all in it's way. It wasn't that far behind me, either, so I urged my legs, much shorter than anyone else's, to race on. I leapt out of the way of a huge oak tree, and found myself in a small circular clearing in the middle of the forest.
I made it halfway through this clearing before I tripped on a rock hidden in the grass. Once my head hit the ground, the last thing I remembered was a blinding green light, and then darkness. I don't know how long exactly I lay there after my fall, but my first thought had been Am I Dead?. After all, what else could this blackness be?
But then, one day, I felt something inside me stir into life. I heard the beating of my own heart, and I felt air rush through my system, bringing use to my lungs. My eyes flickered and then opened, and I was amazed at the sight that I saw before me.
Changes
There were about a dozen or so trees around me in a circle, around the borders of where the clearing would be. Their branches and leaves formed a roof which allowed greenish sunlight to filter through. The grass I was lying on was emerald green, almost as if it hadn't been touched by the fire or heat wave.
I began to rise, and found to my surprise that my legs were much longer than what I remembered. I shook my head in surprise, and then started as something slapped the side of my neck. With astonishment, I realised what it was, although I could hardly believe it.
I quickly looked over the rest of my body with awe, and found that it was as I had expected. My eyes caught the sight of a small, still pond and I made my way over to it to see my reflection. I lowered my head to the water, looked over my body once more, then began to drink. But something touched the water before my maw did. I looked at my reflection once more, and saw that my tiny stub of a horn had grown into a long, golden one.
Protection
No longer did I hold the long, awkward legs of a foal, for I was no longer a foal. I was now an adult mare. My mane was long, and it was this which had slapped the side of my neck. I was startled for I expected the short mane of a foal. My tail was no longer stubby, but long, almost reaching the ground. And my coat had changed also; it now had white markings upon it in addition to my original ones.
Now there were four leaf shapes upon my coat, one on either shoulder, and one on either side of my rump. Something extra had been added to my horn also; a single strand of ivy now circled around it. My hooves had also been turned a bright green, which matched the streaks which ran through my mane and tail.
I quickly understood what had happened; there had been trees planted all around the clearing where I fell, and the green flash I saw before everything went black would have been them shooting up out of the ground to protect me from the fire. Why and how that happened I don't know. But because of that I had been changed.
Up Up And Away!
I then realised two other things had been changed; my tiny stubs on my shoulders had turned into full-grown, feathered wings. That, and I now had magic flowing throgh my veins. With a mere thought I could make any greenery do my bidding. I now realised that this power was good, but it could easily lead to much danger.
But I had been given these powers for a reason. That day long ago when I was a filly and had fallen down here, these trees had protected me. And now, it was my turn to protect them and any other plants I met. My gaze shifted upwards, and I watched as the branches parted, weaving together to make a circular gap which allowed the sky to be visible.
I spead my wing and began to beat them. At first I hovered in the air, but then I steadily gained height and then I shot forward through the gap and into the sunlight. It was now my turn to return the favour.

.:Friends:.
Charm
Charm was the first Uni I met at our herd. She's extremely nice, and I hope to get the chance to be better friends with her. She recently found a mate, and I'm thrilled; this means that her curse has finally been broken.
Crystal
Crystal and I met one night in a forest, and we ended up racing through the mountains, to the beach. We started talking, and I told her about my debt. She said that it might lead to a war of some sorts, between trees and some other element, perhaps; by aiding the trees I could repay my debt. So kind is she; Crystal offered to help me with the war, and I am ever-thankful to her.
Driffen
I only met Driffen recently, but he's a good guy. I wish there was some way that I could help him grow wings so he might soar over the land, as he has said he longs to do.
Beau
Beau is...interesting. I hardly know anything about him, having only just met him, but I made a fool of myself by gawking at his markings. Who wouldn't do the same, though?
.:Enemies:.
Thankfully, I have made no enemies for myself during my travels. And neither have I made any at my new herd
.:Beloved:.
I first met Lo when I was a filly, near my herdlands. The next day, the fire struck. We met again so many years later, and after some thinking, I realised that I loved him. I told him this, and for a moment, I almost thought that I had lost him, but then I experienced the real meaning of joy when he accepted me as his love.
I guess you could say that I fell for my best friend.
