These forests are endless. Well, not really. They only seem that way. Now, which way back to the camp site? Was it that way? No, you passed that tree ten times already.
Suddenly, you feel eyes upon you. You turn suddenly, hoping to surprise whatever is staring at you. You are shocked instead. Piercing amber eyes are staring at you from the dark undergrowth. You back up nervously. What to do? You want to run away, but you remember something someone told you about that not being good. Creatures chase you if you run away.
You hear a low growl and the creature slinks into view. It's a lupe. But this is no pet. It must be a wild one. She stares at you menacingly. Leave now, stranger.
I don't mean any harm, you stutter quickly. You begin to back away slowly. You see I'm lost and I- You are cut off as you trip over a tree root and land on your butt. The lupe stares at you with a curious expression, and then makes a sound that might be a laugh.
My name is Opheladele. I am the leader of the lupe pack that lives in this forest. You're invading our territory. She doesn't seem angry, though. In fact, she looks to be smiling.
Sorry.
You obviously arn't dangerous, human. Sorry for the misunderstanding. She turns to leave.
Wait! you call after her. What is this place?
She turns her head to look at you. This is the territory of my lupe pack.
Lupe pack? The tone of your voice asks for explination.
Yes, wild lupes live in packs. Didn't you know that, human? You shake your head. Well, then, I'll show you around a bit, so long as you don't tell anyone.
I won't, you promise. Who wouldn't do what she said? Look at those fangs and claws.
She considers this and then, Very well. I won't show you the main part of our territory, though. You blink. How suspicious this lupe is! She walks forward and after a moment, you realize you should follow her. You walk after her into unfarmiliar territory.
Opheladele is a natural-born leader. She's intelligent, fair, and can be counted on to make good decisions. She's no weakling, though. Opheladele has the strength and agression to keep herself in the leadership position, and so far nobody is looking to challenge her. She always puts her pack first, and she is the reason her make-shift little pack has made it as far as it has.
Leadership was up for grabs for anyone who cared to take it. Most did not want to. Leadership was stressful. Who would want to bear the burden of being responsible for so many lives? Plus, there were those who needed to care for pups. But there would always be some who desired it. Opheladele, barely into adulthood, was one of them.
Unfortunately for her, there was another lupe with a desire to become leader. Torero, twice as old as she was and far more experienced, was her competition. He had strength and experience, while she had ambition. But she had intelligence, too, and patience to go along with it. She would wait to make her move. Then, when she sensed weakness, she would strike.
But Torero was quickly establishing himself as leader and nobody challenged him. She would have to act quickly. So, after he had just woken up, when he was unprepared, she attacked.
Torero was momentarily taken by surprise. But Opheladele's success did not last. Being far bigger, older, and stronger, Torero quickly pinned her down. His jaws closed around her throat. This was it. She waited, but he did not finish. He bit gently, then let her up. Her relief was visible. He could have killed her. Probably should have killed her. But he didn't. She would live another day and later she would take her position as leader.
Torero seemed to know that. Know that she would challenge him again. So he chased her out in a horrible display of fangs and claws. And Opheladele ran. She would never be able to beat him. She knew that. She was too young, too weak. But where could she go. What was a lupe without a pack? Even worse, she could feel her dream, her one chance, slip away from her. She left the territory without a single look back.
A lupe came toward her. Surprisingly, this lupe appeared friendly. It was a female and a very young pup danged from her mouth. "A lone lupe! I didn't think I'd meet another one," she says breathlessly to Opheladele. Ophelade was relieved that this had not been the attack she was expecting. But what was a mother doing wandering through foreign land with a pup too young to leave the den. "I'm sorry, my name is Mollie. You are alone, right? Can I travel with you?"
Two lupes are better than one, as Opheladele has come to know, so she quickly agrees. This lupe, despite the handicap of a young pup, is clearly not a tame pet and she knows her way around the area. After a day of traveling Opheladele learned more about this peculiar lupe. She was a low-ranking female who had pups despite the code of her pack and was driven out. She had been traveling for a while and all but one of her pups had died. Not suprising. Lone lupes, at least the wild ones, did not usually do well on their own and Mollie could only carry one pup at a time.
Heart -Really, she should have just chased him off. That's what she had always done with intruders. And he was certainly an intruder. He had come into the forest and moved into the abandoned cabin just on the edge of her territory. A pet lupe, trying to live in the woods? She couldn't understand it. She should have hated him. But there was something about him, something that wouldn't allow her to chase him off. Eventually, he had somehow become her friend. It had started out with a conversation when they passed each other. Now, she went to his cabin, just to talk. It was nice, having a friend that wasn't part of her pack. He would listen to her problems without challenging her leadership. He was just so easy to talk to. He still lives in the cabin, and she still visits him frequently.

Getting an Adoptable
If you would like one of these adoptables, send a neomail to thedarkangel103 or angel_dreamer261 with you're lupe's full name, the link to your lupe's reference picture, and a link to your adoptables.
I will not do: Wings, Multiple tails
Sorry, but the way the adoptables are made, huge changes like that cannot be made.
1. Trade using a set of adoptables from a different species. Feathereh has many pets. If you happen to have an adoptable in a pet that Feathereh has, you can use those to do a trade.
2. You could ask to be put on the waiting list. The waiting list is a list of requests to do whenever Feathereh has spare time. You could be on the waiting list for a few days or a few months, but you will get your adoptable.
