Step One

Clear your mind.
I know it may seem hard. And it is. In fact, it is impossible. The human brain is constantly thinking about everything, and it is impossible to stop.

But...

The way I clear my mind is by sychronizing my thoughts with my favorite soothing song, and ignoring everything else. I focus on every note of the song, actually. By doing this, it is just me in nothingness. Because the music is not a problem or obstacle in my life, I am not consentrating on the outside world.

NOTE:If the song is somehow related to a problem in your life, begin again and concentrate on a different song.

Once you have cleared your mind, it is time to begin step two.

Step Two

Do you see this flame? you will be using a mental version of it in step two.

Visualize a small flame in your head. Any color is fine, any shape or brightness is fine also, but it MUST BE SMALL.

Now gather all of your emotions into one big ball and toss them into the flame like you would with wood and a bonfire. Make the flame go out now, and your emotions will go up in smoke.

If you keep your mind in this state frequently, little will start to not seem so big anymore, and clouds will have very thick silver linings. Never knew meditation could be so helpful, huh?

Getting to Sleep
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~


I cannot get to sleep very well, and sometimes, when I was little, I could not get to sleep at all for that matter. But i have developed a way to get to sleep and be more relaxed when you sleep, meaning more pleasant dreams and such. I want to share this way with you, guest, so you can get to sleep easier if you ever had trouble like i did.

There is one thing i would like to mention before I go into my sleeping method.
Dreams are what you think about when you are asleep. If you are thinking about positive or happy things before you go to sleep, then that will most likely be your dreams' themes.

NOTE: This does not always work, because you have no control over your mind when you go to sleep. You may have some thing that keeps slipping to the top of your thoughts, but when you're asleep, you have no control over your mind, so you can't push it away. As a result, it may just become a nightmare.

And now i will go into the sleeping method of meditation.

First, repeat all of the steps above, only instead of throwing a ball of emotions into the flame, throw all of your thoughts into the flame, then extinguish it. After that, keep focusing on the song, but start thinking about somthing related to what you want to dream about.
NOTE: do NOT say "oooh!!! i want to dream about..." because it will do just the opposite. Instead, think about the theme of what you want to dream about.
In no time, the song you have chosen will put you to sleep, and your thoughts will have made your dreams the way you wanted them.

Fly Away

This form of relaxation is best used when you're stressed and you dont have to concentrate on anything important. (For example, don't try this just before a test or something that you need to do good on)

Sit down in a comfortable chair and imagine that a faded, ghostly version of yourself is walking out of you. Imagine that you are that ghostly you, and that you are seeing through its eyes. Your eyes. Imagine that you are sprouting large angel's wings from your back. They glow like the purest full moon you could ever imagine. Now use your new wings. Lift yourself from the ground and soar out of that room, out and up, up, up above the clouds, birds gliding blissfully beside you. Now fly down, down, now just above the ocean. See how it sparkles and gleams like a million small saphires and emeralds and diamonds, and dive under its surface and swim with the dolphins and fish. The sun glints off of the fish's scales as they streak through the water to both sides of you. You now realize that you can go anywhere, you and your wings. And you do just that.

When it is time to return to your body, imagine yourself flying back to your chair, back to yourself. You land in the room where you left yourself, and you walk back into your body. You may experience a daze for a half hour, but that's normal, and why you shouldn't do this before something important.
