Does it cost anything?

Nope, Neopets is completely free.

What do I have to do?

The first thing you need to do is sign up with Neopets. Click here to create your account. Once you have created an account, you can create your own pets. Click on 'Create a Pet' and decide which species, gender, and even personality you want to look after. Alternatively, you can adopt one of our abandoned Neopets from the Neopian Pound.

What do I do now?

Now it's really up to you. You can go to the shops and buy some food and toys for your pets. If the main shops are all sold out, try using the Shop Wizard to search for some great bargains in the Marketplace. You can also set up your own Neopian Bank account, put your valuables in a safety deposit box, and set up your own shop. Just browse around the shopping area.

There are lots of games to play, including Hide and Seek, NeoPoker, NeoTrivia, Dicearoo, Chia Bingo, and Scorchy Slots. Most games will earn you Neopoints so you can buy more things for your pet. There are also many things to play that cost nothing and you can get things for free, like: Fishing, Giant Omelette, Tombola, Coltzan's Shrine, Fruit Machine, Snowager

You can also read Neopets weekly Web-based magazine, The Neopian Times, and catch up on some great stories sent in by other members. If you think you can contribute towards it, you can submit your stories and other things by clicking here

GUILDS

A few people have asked lately, "What is a guild?". A guild is simply a place to get to know others and you usually have a common thing you all like or enjoy to do.
They are lots of fun to be in. But, keep in mind, you can only be part of ONE guild at a time, no more. If you are unhappy with your current guild, you can always click 'LEAVE GUILD', on the bar, and join a different guild. :)

SHOPS

You can make neopoints (neopian money) by buying things at shops and selling them in your shop. It's quite simple. All that you have to do is click on 'SHOPS' on the sidebar, to the left, and in the toolbar near the top of the page, you'll see all these little pictures. Click on the one with the sign that looks similar to a house (it's directly to the right of the 'YOUR ITEMS' button), to the left. - -When you put your cursor over it, it will say 'MY SHOP'.- - And that's how you can create and get to your shop in the future.

GALLERIES

You can now have a gallery to display all your most precious items. This is in addition to your shop, it is just a place for you to show off your collection. Like your shop, you can pay to upgrade your gallery so it can hold additional items. You may only have one gallery and one shop on each account. NEOMAIL and NEOFRIENDS

You can't neomail people who are under 13 and who haven't sent their Parental Permission Form, yet. Bummer, huh? :( You can make others your neofriend by going to their userlookup, scrolling down, and clicking the button with the smiley face saying Make Neofriend.

USERLOOKUP

To see what details other people can see when they look up your account, type your username in the search box (this is in the yellow side bar). You can change what your profile says on the User Prefs page. To get to this page manually, click on 'Help' in the yellow bar, then on the Pink Bruce at the top of the page.
