Welcome guest! The purpose of this page is to explain how to block those annoying banner ads you see when browsing the Neopets.com website. Unfortunately, the new Neopets layout has artwork wrapped around the top banner ad and blocking ads will also block out the artwork around the ad :(.
Most of the commonly used browsers are now covered on this page. However, if you know how to block ads on any other browsers (or would like to request a browser for me to tinker with), please feel free to neomail me the method, please include the name of the browser somewhere in your message :P
Since so many people have been asking about whether it was against the rules or not to block ads...
This is quoted directly from the end of Editorial #230

I've been receiving quite a few neomails about this section, so here"s a pictorial guide. Just drag and drop the (small) image here into the address bar to view the full sized image. (depending on the version of IE you have, you may need to drag the image onto the tab toolbar, or the very top of the window. Rest assured you can drag and drop to view it full size, you just might have to search before finding the exact place it goes, sorry for the inconvenience.)

August 13th -- Completely redid the layout. This is a much better layout in my opinion. Everything is now much easier to get to, and only your browser of choice will be displayed :D
Also added a new section with tips and tricks you can do with the user style sheets :D
July 4th -- Changed the layout a bit, added a large quote from the editorial (please stop asking if this is against the rules). Moved the Alternate FireFox method to be the primary method (cause it's so much better)
Added a section on blocking ads for those that use Mozilla SeaMonkey. Hope it's of use to the few that use it :D
Added a pictorial guide to blocking ads with FireFox (only covers 'method 1')
Be warned, they're not all about blocking ads, and some info may no longer be relevant.....
(sorted from oldest to newest)
March 2 -- This page will now feature my records from my "redpaperclip" experiment
Check my trades for info.
March 2 -- Updated the layout of my page. This is way better than what I had. Click here to get your own!
March 3 -- Added another section, this explains fully what my intentions are, what motivated me to do this, etc.
March 4 -- Changed the record section to show the item traded. Hover over the image for details
March 4 -- Changed the layout again, moved my "redpaperclip" information to the top of the page, renamed the experiment "One Lemon Jelly", added another section at the bottom of the page to assist Internet Explorer users in blocking banner ads, and added a few more links to the navigation section
March 4 -- I will not be accepting limited release items that are still being released during the remainder of this experiment. Why? I accepted the dubloon from Daily Dare, and the price on it has been all over the place. I even traded back for it after it spiked. Shortly after, it dropped back again. So, in short, NO DAILY DARE ITEMS!
March 6 -- Added a link to neomail me. Please use this link and this link alone if you wish to neomail me about this page or my trades if you want a speedy reply, as this link contains the proper subject line.
March 6 -- Added a link back button. So now, if for some crazy reason you wish to link others to my page, you now have a button to use!
March 20 -- Added a little bit to the Ad Block section, it helps explain EXACTLY what to do.
March 25 -- Added a new section with instructions on how to block ads in Mozilla Firefox without downloading and installing any adblock software. Thanks to hotapplecider for telling me how!
March 29 -- Added two new link Back buttons for my sections on Blocking Ads
You should support my page and put them everywhere you can think of.
March 31 -- Cleaned up some of the coding a little bit, now the records aren't unnecessary links.
Changed the order of the sections, The sections on blocking ads now precede the section featuring my avatars.
One Lemon Jelly will end at midnight (NST) tonight!!!
April 1 -- One Lemon Jelly is now over!!! Thanks to all who participated. You really made my month!
I will now reorder the sections again and put my One Lemon Jelly stuff down at the bottom of the page, or possibly move it all to another page entirely.
April 14 -- I got a new layout, spiffy isn't it?
I removed everything not related to Blocking Ads. One Lemon Jelly information has been moved to Here and all the info pertaining to what avatars I have has been permanently taken down. (Nobody really cared anyway
)
April 20 -- Another user has informed me of how to remove ads at the bottom of the page. Thanks!
I got bored, downloaded Opera, and figured out how to block Neopets Ads on it too!
And now my boredom has produced a method to blocking ads using Netscape, as well as two new Link Back buttons (1 for each browser)
AOL Explorer is now a covered browser! Another link back button should be coming soon!
April 26 -- Neopets has changed the layout of everything, now the code I had to block bottom ads is ineffective as the code for the ads changed and some of the stupid things are in the middle of the page. Unfortunately, the site themes have artwork wrapped around the top ads and blocking those ads removes the artwork around them. :(
May 25 -- Bleh, sorry for not updating, kind of put this on the back burner for a while waiting for TNT to fix the ad problems. I've finally updated the guide to be functional again. (Yay me!) You'll need to update the coding to block them, not too hard, Neomail me if you have any questions on updating your adblock code, or if you just don't understand what was updated.
July 3rd -- No updates for a while, heh. Today my page became popular again (Thanks for putting ads in unavoidable places on the boards, TNT!) I added a *better* method for Mozilla FireFox, it only affects your profile (for those that share the browser with multiple neo-users.)
July 4th -- Changed the layout a bit, added a large quote from the editorial (please stop asking if this is against the rules). Moved the Alternate FireFox method to be the primary method (cause it's so much better)

August 20 -- The search page was just revamped, new ads were placed there. New code was added to get rid of these. Feel free to update your adblock code at this point. Thanks to Tom for pointing it out! :D
