Okay everyone let's make this introduction really quick. I'm Trixx. I'm the only person in control of this guide. All my theories have been tested by either myself or by someone contributing to this guide. If you have disproven an item related theory I require a screenshot. If you HAVE obtained the avatar by some method and want to share, I require you show me the avatar as your active avatar and send me a theory along with the method to your madness =). Okay that clears up me and the guide.
There are a couple other great guides out there and I'd just like to take a quick momment to mention my favorite one. Treenifer's page has been a great help to me and other hunters out there. Kudos goes out to her for her continued help with my guide as well.

Finally I would like to thank all of you, because I could never test all these theories alone. I am running a chat group atm called Bonju, The Search for the Answer. The Tested
The following theories have already been tested by either myself or other guide testers. They have all been confirmed by either myself or have screenshot evidence. Thanks guys.
The avatar is not a Cyodrake's Plot prize. (Duh)
Cannot be obtained by scoring and amount of points OR getting on the high scores table for the following games: Eye of the Storm, Kou Jong, or Attack of the Gummy Dice.
Feed a pet Hoban's left overs.
Downloading the Bonju Screensaver
Mixing the words "Chef" "Bonju" and "Orange" in the Magical Cooking Vessel (MCV).
Mixing items starting with B-O-N-J-U. Items tried were: Bacon Omelette, Neezles Jab and Ummagrine.
Mixing Anchovies and Casserole
Using the Gorgax avatar and visiting various locations in Shenkuu. (Woo for me x)!)
Putting "The Grundo Chef (TCG)" or "The Underwater Chef (TCG)" in your neodeck and viewing any Shenkuu pages.
Mixing Bud Bud in various recipes. (This is an extension of the cardboard theory).
I've had to put this in bold because I'm STILL getting neomails about it. ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE LUNAR FESTIVAL does not work. OKAY? They would not wait 4 months to make the solution to an avatar possible.
Okay. If I get one more neomail about the Bonju Shopkeeper I'm gonna join the Meepits. I'm aware there is one. Use your brains people, if it involved the Bonju shopkeeper, we'd all have the avatar by now, and we'd all NOT have the Emo Usuki avatar. This applies to galleries too.
Refresh at the MCV at 6:00pm and am (This has also been tried on Blumaroo day and the day of the avatar's release).
Mix Island Quest items in the MCV
Mix something in the MCV while Bonju picture is on the sidebar.
Okay all of the following theories apply to testing involving an orange blumaroo. They have all been tried okay?
View the lookup of your own or someone elses orange blumaroo(O.B.).
Read an O.B.: "Gourmet Cooking For Your Pet", "Cooking With Chef Bouglar", "The Unlucky Blumaroo", "Anger Management For Navigators" or "Hoban's Map Book
Mix things with an O.B. as your active pet at the MCV.
Feed a gourmet food to your orange blumaroo.
Now before we get onto testing I would like to make a couple things crystal clear:
1.) Snarkie has not said anything regarding the avatar. Here's proof and if you need anymore head over to her lookup and read her blog. :)
2.)Bonju is orange. Not red (or blue, green, purple, invisible, striped, or royal). He is orange on the sidebar. He is orange there. Orange here. Orange everywhere. The end.
3.)Source coding has NOTHING to do with the avatar. Here's a nice little section of the editorial I cropped out for you.
Okay rules for theories are simple. I credit the first person who sends me the theory via neomail or on one of my boards. I will not automatically add all theories. Don't give me a theory already here or disproven. Finally you can neomail me here: 1_ricky_1. (I'm sorry if my inbox is full I get 100 neomails a day x_x')
* This is one of my favorites and has been proposed by many people. The book released through the Advent Calendar, "Anger Management For Navigators" have an interesting description. It reads "Tip #1: Always eat the chefs meals, even if it tastes like cardboard. This was given out by the Advent Calendar in Y8.". Could this mean the avatar mixture has to do with cardboard? It has also been noticed that the item Bud Bud mentions a cardboard like flavour in its description.
Something is a brewing with this suggestion, litterally. It has been noticed that in both the Bonju screensaver and the opening image to the MCV have Bonju making a weird green stew in the pot. Possible theory?
There is a possibility that the Cyodrake Plot comic may have hidden links similar to the Lost Desert Plot comic. Search around x_x'. (The link is here
A possible theory is that the avatar is avaliable upon completion of your Shenkuu Stamp Album. (The album is currently not fully released).
Currently these are all my untested theories. Lets get testing and thinking people!
