Waking on a bed you sit up. Head pounding inside your skull. You wince slightly at the pain but step off the bed, look up and notice someone clad in black robes, not just a regular black, but a black that is so black it somehow gave off a black glow. Odd you think to yourself, who is that person? Why would he be holding a scythe? You took a step forward, but he looked up, purple eyes glowing from inside his robe. Gasping you take a step back to any bump into the bed, you turn around. And notice your own body! A hand rested on your shoulder and a voice, soothing but at the same time horrid. "Come child, your time has come to leave this place. Follow me if you please." You turn around to see a portal in the wall, the image behind it was unable to make out but, seeing as you were now dead you might as well follow him to wherever. Stepping through the portal, he followed, and what was on the other side wasn't really what you expected.
It was a beautiful place, with a waterfall off into the distance inside a lush rainforest. "Not a bad place eh? It from your imagination, this place is never the same, it changes with every person. Yours just happened to be a place like this." You look up at him, still confused at who he was, and to what he was talking about. You simply ask him one question. "Who are you?"

My story begins around 300 BC - yes that long ago - in a city called Pompeii. Yes I am from there, but you wouldn't notice that now because I have changed over time.
I was first born in my family. My parents were demons, and demons were pretty much slaves in Pompeii and Rome then, so I was born into a pretty horrible position. But, I wouldn't have had it any other way. When I was young, I was taken away from my parents, taken to Rome and thrown into a dungeon, not a prison but a place where Gladiators trained. Yep, not only were we slaves, we were entertainers that used our own lives as the entertainment. It was there I would ramain until I was killed. My first few years of my life was spent doing hard labor and studying from a book I had stolen, meaning I taught myself how to read and got other Gladiators to teach me when they were able to. If I was planning on living I might as well study was I was training to be so I would at least live longer. So, after a few years, and knowing as much as I possibly could cram into my head, I began my training. Which in fact, is extremely hard. Through all of that, I came to be the youngest and the best Gladiator there ever was in Rome. Then came my time out on the battlefield, in the Collosium.

The Collosium, in all its grand glory, to me wasn't that grand at all. Considering men died there everyday, and the fact people cheered for it turned my stomach. I stood at the entrance behind the gate, tufts of my purple hair coming from the top of my rusty helmet. Unbalanced sword in hand along with my small dagger tucked into a slot I made in my leather armour. I heaved a deep sigh as the gate roze. Gladiators walked past me, heading toward the center. Heading toward their doom, as was I. What happened next was like a rush, my heart beating, gasping for breathe, blood, the works. And before I knew it.... it was over. There were a few other Gladiators left in the ring besides me.... but the rest lay dead in the sand. The crowd cheering for more, but we were done for the day, next where the prisoners for crimes to await their death, a much more gruesome death.
Over the years I would battle many others from different institutes, and many more Collosium battles. I was undefeated. But, things don't really turn out the way you wanted them to be... everything comes with a price not everyone is willing to pay. I died in the arena one day, horrible death that was. But I suppose it was my time anyway, I was a vetran at the age of 21. Very young indeed. But what happened afterwards was beyond weird. Have you ever heard of Death? The Grim Reaper? Well, lets just say after my death I became his student. Yep pretty weird I must say, but it was also really cool because being dead and being unable to die again was really cool. The walking dead.
Being the Grim Reapers student, I got to help him with some of his death routes. I should explain something. For the Grim Reaper to even consider having a student, he must -after a while- pass his occupation on to someone else, but only when he wishes, and he doesn't even have to pass it down. Its just like what I said before. Everything comes with I price not everyone is willing to pay. And being the Grim Reaper... He who shall become Death shall forget Emotion, shall feel nothing. But he who wants shall recieve with the price of flesh. Thats not all of that, but thats why most images of Death show him as a skeleton. With is very true because of that rule, meaning if they wanted things, a piece of their skin disappeared. Don't ask me why but I guess its something they've always lived with.
Soon after, he passed what he was on to me. So now.... I am Death, the Grim Reaper, the Angel of Death. Not a very pleasing title, but I've lived with it. I aged, but did not die again. I watched lives around me die, land change, and countries fight with war. Pompeii was the place I watched change the most, considering it was my birth place, I felt connected to it even after death. I was there when the volcano errupted and killed everyone in Pompeii, I felt hollow for a long time after that. I was there when Julius Ceasar was killed, I was there during WW1, I was there during WW2. The works. You name ANY major event after 270 BC, I was there to take them to the after life.
I bet your wondering why Im not a sketeton after 2300 years. Well, it says in the book that those who WANT will have flesh taken away. I found a loophole around it, I found that NEEDING things was much different that wanting. So, I started saying I needed certain things to do my job, and it was all granted without the cost of my flesh. So yeah, my life was hard as a Gladiator, but my death was much more.... complex and harder. Though, you will never know what it is like, and I hope you never do.

THEE best gal to hang out with. She loves to party and have conversations with me. But the best thing about her, is that she can't really die until she finds something out, because I really don't want her to leave me. We like to pull pranks on people. But best of all I just love to have her company.
Zalyth
Sometimes I wonder about him... And he says his life was hard... he needs a big reality check because no ones can be as hard as mine. Sure hes a great guy and all but theres just something about him that really bugs me. Like his Monk-ness, thats just really werid stuff, considering Ive been trained to kill with moves that will make it quick and painless. He just overexagerates things.
Katoria
Shes not really an 'owner', more like a really good friend. I met one day along one of my dayly routes when we bumped into each other, literally. Shes always been there for me, getting over all of my 'death' business... and stuff. Yeah! Kato is tres cool yo.

For someone like me, it hard to have real friends... or any friends at all. Besides, no one would want to be my friend anyway.

I don't think Jo would mind if you took one, so help yourself=3
Customs .... Open | CLOSED
Rules
Don't use them in the BC, Guild Contests etc., it will get you frozen.
Do not alter, edit or change anything on these.
I want these to link back to me, so don't get rid of that.
If you want a custom, look and see if I have customs open first.
Anyway, yeah pretty basic rules, so don't mess that up please. Oh! By the way, to save space, I must ask of you to replace the word 'COLOUR', with the colour of the adoptable (don't remove the number, you'll get a different pic), it will tell you the name of the file when you hold your mouse over it, meaning if you were smart enough you could easily figure that out. 83 (And sorry for the white, I don't have the program to get rid of that ^^;)

After a long talk at explaining who he was, Jo stopped at the edge of a cliff next to the waterfall. "That is who I am, and will forever be. I can't change it even if I wanted to." He smiled slightly. He leaned on his scythe and looked into your eyes. "I know you've always wanted to jump off a cliff... with a bungee cord. But, only this time there is no cord." He pointed down into the water, another portal had opened up. "There is your final resting place child. Don't be scared of jumping, nothing with happen to you. Trust me." He smiled again.
I won't forget you Jo." You say to him, but he shook his head.
Oh. You /will/ forget me, you will forget everything about me and the fact that I exist. Because when you jump through that hole, everything starts over from there... that is if you believe in reincarnation." Standing straight, he stood next to you. "Goodbye, it was a pleasure knowing you while you where here." With that, he pushed you. Falling right into the water. That was the end.
