So you want to hear more about my Neohome, huh?

I realised a couple of months ago that my poor pets really deserved a proper roof over their heads. Exploring and travelling all over Neopia is exciting, but there comes a time when you want to settle in one place, and have somewhere to call home.

FireThrice longed for a home in Jelly World, but unfortunately we couldn't find any properties for sale there. (In fact, Jelly World doesn't seem to appear on any maps or records. How very odd.) SleightSilver wanted to be near the sea as it reminds him of his pirating days, but EarthChylde didn't really fancy being near all those nasty rough pirates. So, as a compromise, we settled on Mystery Island. Surrounded by ocean, friendly natives, somewhere to chill out and take life easy. Perfect!

EarthChylde was the first to really get in to the spirit of life on the Island, and opted for a tropical-themed room, with lots of bamboo furniture and her favourite posters. FireThrice was still a bit sulky about not being able to live in Jelly World, so I splashed out on a Jelly room for her, complete with her favourite Slorg wardrobe and Jinjah Bed. She finally found a place for that Jingah Rug she won at Christmas last year! Finally, SleightSilver's room is quite the eclectic mix - his favourite old rocking chair and a lovely fire to spend the winter nights by, juxtaposed with a rather odd frog theme. Ah well, to each his own.

But wait, something was missing! What about the Lab Pet?! See, for those of you who don't know, I like to adopt pets from the pound now and again and zap them with the Lab Ray until they look spiffy. Sometimes this is a quick process, and sometimes it can take months. It certainly wouldn't be fair to leave my visitor out in the cold! I decided, therefore, to build a guest room.

It's a little smaller than the others, and doesn't have quite the same homely feel - it's more like a hotel room, comfy but functional, and it has its own en-suite bathroom. It also has its own private back entrance, just in case he or she needs to go to a new home in the dead of night. We don't want to wake the others!

So, what needs to be built in the future? Well, the guys are adament about having their own bathrooms. They're all pretty fussy about their appearances - especially SleightSilver who, after having to endure the messy, smelly conditions on board ship, likes to take every opportunity to keep himself clean and groomed! We also need a living room - a general space to relax and socialize in. We haven't decided on a theme yet, but we know that we want plenty of comfy chairs and pretty ornaments!

EarthChylde lives up to her name by being the green-fingered member of the family. She wants a nice big garden where she can tend lots of exotic flowers, and it would be lovely to have somewhere pretty to sit in in the hot summer months.

Slowly, but surely, the house is being built. It'll take time and lots of NP, but I look forward to making it a place my pets and I will love and treasure in the years to come. ^_^
