Okay, so let's face it. NONE of us are happy with the new BC rule. We, the loyal members of the BC, have been entering with side accounts for months, even years. Why do we do it? Is it for fame? Fortune? No. It's for the love of art, and for the love of our pets. Ask almost any of the regulars that enter the BC why they do it, and 99% of the time you'll hear "because I love to draw". Not "because I want money", or "because I can get a cool item". "Because we love to draw". The BC is dying. Those who we've had fun chatting with on the boards, whose art we've admired time and again, who tried their hardest to make the BC an enjoyable experience...they're all packing up and leaving, because the BC was what made Neopets fun, and now thanks to the new rule, many of us may no longer enter. Either our main pets are pets we do not draw well, or most of them are already on ban. Gold Bans last a ridiculous length of FOUR MONTHS. So a very good BCer can only enter about 12 times a year. 12 times. So what are we supposed to do the rest of the year? I know we're supposed to "give everyone else a chance", but one, even two months would be more reasonable then FOUR months... But that issue is a rant for another time.
The Solution So, what's the solution to all this you ask? Well, there's two answers that most of us seem agreed upon. The first is to allow people to mark their accounts as "Main" or "Side". Accounts marked as side account will still be allowed to enter Beauty Contests, but in the event of a win neopoints will not be awarded to that account. The second, and in my opinion best option, is to remove monetary prizes from the BC altogether, or to make a secondary BC, one that lacks prizes and is just for showing off our artwork. Then everyone could enter their sides freely, since they would not be trying to "gain an advantage". Not only would it fix the problem, but the quality of the BC would likely improve. (Edit: A (very) few people have mailed me to yell that BCers should "just enter the AG if they want to show off their art". But they don't seem to understand how hard it is to get into the AG. Out of the hundreds and thousands of artists on the site that want to show off their art, only a miniscule handful are chosen a week. The AG also has very strict guidelines that restricts our creativity a good deal. So no, "just entering the AG" is NOT a solution.) Anyway, if you look at it logically, BCers make NO profit from the BC. Most people that play games, buy scratch cards, Restock, and other such things on a daily basis, make anywhere from 5k-50k a DAY (and those are the extremely rounded down numbers). BCers on the other hand spend their entire week on the message boards, advertising their entries and chatting with their fellow artists. We have no time for games and such. So we actually LOSE money by entering the BC. None of us care about the money. So please TNT, if you can still hear the voices of your loyal players, please just remove the BC prizes. We want our beloved side pets back. If you agree with these views, please Neomail me to sign the list. Let our voices reach TNT, and bring our BC back to the way it was. The way it SHOULD be. It's the dumbest rule ever. (-. -) Most of the greatest pets are on sides. Plus scribbles will evade. Which is better.

I don't get much time to enter my pets in the BC. Sure, I can draw my main account pets and enter them, but what about the pets I have on side accounts? They can be drawn just as lovely. Up until now, I didn't know there was a monetary prize (IMANON-WINNINGLOSER, K? ;P), and it still wouldn't matter to me. Just the experience is prize enough. There are great people on the BC board, and there were other great people, but they've left. Why are you damaging such a strong, awesome community? Isn't that what you'd want a petsite to be about? It's dying, and if things stay this way, it'll just get worse.
I wannu draw Qroi, but I don't want the hassle of shifting all my pets around and the possibility of losing him. People have been frozen by this rule and it needs to stop. Innocent people have been frozen, even. Where's the warning? Don't you tell people what they're doing wrong anymore? This is madness, TNT.
Artti is a creature of habit. I need the BC to fill those little gaps in my day. Go to work, come home, check messages, maybe draw a bit, and advertise my entry. This is the third contest since June of 2003 that I haven't been a part of, and it's because of the new rule. I have a half-finished picture of my side account lupe I was going to enter. Can't now. It's lame. ...and I'm bored. D:
I'm sad too and the sad thing is, real BCers arent in it for the money. theyre just in it cause theyre good artists and they like the BC. Personally, i barely even notice the NP prize. o_O
I do not enter the beauty contest for Nps, and I know many agree with me! If the np prize is removed, the contest can shift it's focus back to what really matters- the art.
This will make the artists of neopia all very happy, so let's work together, staff and players, with a reasonable solution!
Trophies are the only prizes I care about - and that feeling of joy I get at seeing my hard work achieve something. ^.^ The NP . . . I can make 10k a day with games, if not more when I'm really going at it.
As many have mentioned before me, BC-ers are not in this to get neopoints. They enter to show off how much they care about their pets. The only thing I really considered worth winning was not ever the prizes, but a trophy to show how I put a ton of effort into caring for my pet. In addition, I have yet to win a trophy, but that doesn't mean I stop BC-ing, it just encourages me to try harder. I love all my pets equally, including the pets on my side accounts. Entering them into the BC is something hundreds, maybe even thousands of people enjoy doing. Please realize you made a mistake, TNT. Please.
Often times, dozens of artists just enter for the prize, and to know that they can prove themselves with their talent and skill. And what angers me more is that before TNT started freezing the true artists over this unseen rule, they should have frozen that use CAPs to win on sides. D: Then it'd be less bitter. And not only that, what shames me more is that TNT has not only been unfairly freezing our artists and idols, but they've been slacking off lately and letting entries slip by with stolen artwork and win a prize. Where's the justice, TNT? And not that kind you get from freezing innocents... I'd rather enter and win nothing than enter and win everything at the cost of my side accounts. Please quit being fools, TNT. We aren't little kids anymore.
I only have 1 beauty contest pet on my main, people are going to soon get sick of seeing it, as well as me getting sick of drawing it. I'm not gunna risk transfering my pets and loosing them just to enter the B/C. Neopets.com is loosing tons of its population just over this, not to mention all the other crappy rules. Neopets its "SAFE" Its just as dangerous. Nothing can make it safe for little kids. Its not fun either. I go off and on the internet remembering the rules and I sigh and get off. I'm sick of it, I love to draw and this new rule is LAME. I have a life, but on those days when I am sitting at home I'd like to fill the time by drawing my pets and entering the B/C.
The few neopoints I manage to scrounge from the BC don't matter to me. Take out the money and item prizes and I'm happy. It'll probably help stop money-hungry scribbles from entering so much! The prizes may not matter to me, but the chance to show off my art and get trophies and reputations for all my beloved side account pets most certainly does! I have a zafara, one of my favorite pets, on my side account that I've never managed to get a trophy for, and a gelert I adopted, promising her old owner that I would spoil her, which I plan to do! She got a silver trophy before the rule was set into play, but if the rule stays, she may never get to gold-ban. To be able to BC either of them, I will have to make the heart wrenching decision to permanently switch main accounts, which I don't want to do. Even if I did change mains, I would still never again be able to BC the pets on my other accounts! Imagine the BCers who have 20 pets, and they BC each and every one of them! They have to choose 4, now? And if those 4 aren't on the same account, they have to risk dangerous pet transfers, or they're out of luck. How is that fair? I think most of us will agree that the prizes are insignificant, but the ability to enter is invalueable.
I DO NOT CARE ABOUT POINTS OR ITEMS FOR THE BC. There's much better ways to get many more points than the BC. Between the time I put in on my artwork (the last one took an intensive week of work), plus the time for necessary advertising, I LOSE POINTS. I could be making them playing games, etc. instead.
I seriously feel that this is the dumbest rule ever - also, that it isn't fair to us. Because I'd emailed the staff before I started BCing on sides, and was told IT WAS LEGAL!
C'mon, TNT! What's next? An increase in the Gold-ban length? An Avatar for the BC that will bring all those ACers running with their scribbles? Allowing stolen art to be entered with no chance of being frozen?
Give us back our sides! The BC is the main thing that keeps our side-pets loved daily! Without BCing sides, our side-pets are just empty memories of the past!
My main gripe at the moment is that due to unforseen circumstances, I was unable to adopt a lutari on my main. He's on a spare, but apparently they will not be able to be transfered via the pound...so he'll NEVER be on my main, and I'll never be able to draw him. What's the point, then? The only reason I've ever had more than one account is for the extra pets and thus, extra personalities. What's the difference if I enter all three of my main pets, or one each from three accounts? Who has the TIME to draw so many pics from each account as to flood the BC with "unfair" entries? Most people only work on one or two pics at a time, side or no. It's not a "daily" that everyone anywhere is guaranteed profit from eventually....it's a contest where only the talented (in theory) can win, and it's up to the players to decide, not TNT's game coding. So what's unfair? And to whom?
I agree that TNT should remove the NPs and item prizes from the BC because, one, it'd make the BCers happy, and two, it'd get rid of the CAPs, scribbles, and art thieves. I've entered a few times and, although I've never done very well, I enjoy it. I'm not entering for the items and NPs, I'm entering to see how well I'll do. Plus, sometimes while advertising, people will give helpful comments on the drawing so you know what you can improve on in the future.
TNT, this new rule is LAME!! Get rid of the prizes! A simple trophy on the pets' look-up is good enough for me, and probably good enough for every other dedicated BC'er out there. If that is done, the armies of popular AC and FC Copy and Pasters who are in just for the money prize will go away, which would be a big relief on all the great artist who are in only for the expirence and honor and compliments of their drawings that they put long hours into!
A lot of good artists left and now the BC is full of scribbles, newbs, vote traders, and art stealers. Is this really what you want TNT? Most of the good artists getting frozen are better neopians than half the scribbles out there. Really, who cares about the prize!
What TNT is doing is unfair. If they must, I urge them to simply anniliate the prizes they include if you win the BC. It's a nice bonus, of course, but the true prize is receiving a neomail saying: 'Hey, I really loved your gnorbus entry this week! I hope to see more of your drawings one day!' But wait. Since my gnorbu isn't on my main account, I can't enter him anymore! ;_; Please TNT! Reconsider the new rule and allow freedom to the BC enterers!
I understand this situation really well and I think it shall be fair that we are able to enter our pets from side accounts. Because we all are very good artists and want to do more. I agree totually with Jena. Something should be done about it!
TNT,I respect you and all,but this is crossing the line for us artists!There's nothing my side pets can do besides the BC!That's the real reason for the BC; Art.Nobody cares if you take away the prize money,the prize means nothing if we win. Even if we loose,we still like putting our pets in,I used to do that! Now my pets might have to just sit in their accounts,doing nothing but get threatened with webs by Spyders.
I'm not a regular contestant of the BC- infact I've just entered my first one. I occasionally look through it and the AG, just to admire the art. Viewing the art has helped me improve my drawings so much. I believe many can learn just by seeing how shading is done, how snouts and tails are done, and more! My thoughts: next to nobody cares about the NP, take away the prizes- keep the artists!
Ok, the MAIN reason I enter the BC at all is to show off my pets, their designs, their personalities, and to show off my artwork of them. I always entered for fun. And now I can't do that with my side account pets, when they have awesome BCable designs. Sure, I do try my hardest to get a good placement or even try to win the trophy, but it's mostly just for fun, and TNT snatched that away! I swear, TNT is doing things that are really taking the fun out.
Ok, games must have rules, a game is no fun without rules, however if a game has to many rules it is no fun ether, Neo, don't you understand? You are desroying you're site!! Let people enter the Bc on side accounts, just take away the NP and item prizes, true artists don't care about those, infact the true grand prize is having people like you and you're art, so please, you want to make neopets a fun and safe site right? Then stop making so many rules!!!
I shall sign your petition. And when I'm done, I shall sign it again. It's ridiculous. I mean, we aren't really gaining anything from the beauty contest. And if you think about it, only a handful of the hundreds of entries gets a prize at all. It's the trophy we care about. A mere four of my pets can enter. X_x TNT, change this rule. People are quitting because of it.
Were I to choose one word to describe the new BC rule, I'd pick absurd. COMPLETELY absurd! First, TNT allows us to have multipul accounts.Thousands of Neopians MAKE these accounts, and then TNT limits those other accounts (which we treasure, thank you very much!) like there's no tomorrow! What ARE all of these rules supposed to do? Make Neopets amore fun and enjoyable site? For EVERYBODY? Pah! All of this does the exact OPPOSITE of FUN! First you weren't able to send items to those side accounts. Then you weren't allowed to play GAMES on those accounts! And now no entering the BC with side account pets? C'mon! TNT, people really ARE quitting Neopets because of all these ridiculous rules. They aren't necessary, not one bit. I understand the AprilFool's Day prank about NeoCharge, but THIS?
It's sad to see what's happening to the BC. I don't enter much (last time was about a year ago), but I ever do again; I'd want to enter my side account pets! Let's see, on my main I have two pet's I can't draw very good, one who needs to be morphed and one I'm not sure if he looks like a Hissi enough to be accepted! So what that leaves me? 0. I know it means a lot to others and with people quieting from it, it's scaring me. That's why I sent in an editorial entry, asking if something could be done, and even had an idea of how to fix it (It was one mentioned at the top, but at that time I didn't know this existed), but no answer in the Neo times. Not even to another person who might have asked! That was a slap in the face! It also makes other people, for example, fatal_mantis's petition to let anthros and realistic looking pets get into the BC, wasted efforts! I say boycott! Boycott the BC and see how the TNT likes, all scribbles and bad art entering and no good art at all!
What is up with this rule? TNT knows if the account is a side or not, and they have allowed sides to enter before without profit. I agree with this petition all the way, many of my side account pets I draw more often at times then the ones on my main. I love my side account pets very much; they need more rights. Or at least, TNT, let us have 5 or 6 pets an account? Eh, now, here's a word from a side account pet of mine.
It is stupid with this new rule, forbidding us to enter with our sides! We need variety and new challenges, to see how well we can do with the other species! So please, just remove those money prizes! As everyone else has been saying before me, it's not like we're even gaining anything by entering. So please, just let us enjoy the fun of the challenge!
I'm not a great artist. XD I've been entering the BC for years, and all I have to show for it is four bronze and two silver trophies. Oh, and some AWESOME friends. ^^ But you know what? I keep entering. (Not all the time, though, because I've been sick.) Lemme think. In three years, I've made a grand total of.... 20,000 NP from the BC. O_o In three years. Now, only one of my side pets has a trophy, but I always wanted to rectify that. Plus, the one that DOES have a trophy is a Royal Cybunny that I truly love, who deserves more than third place. I LUFF KIZZY. And my other side pets. Just because they aren't on my main, doesn't mean they don't deserve trophies.
Why ruin the fun? Neopets is a fun place for everyone to make their pixel dreams come true....Why ruin that TNT?
Right before they made that rule I spent 3 months doing probally the best picture ever (That I have drawen) of my uni (On a side account). But now I can't enter it. With the new rules now, that side account pets are just rotting because you cant do anything with them....
My main reason for entering the BC was not the NP, the rare chance for an item, nor was it even the trophy. It was a chance to show off my skills as an artist, advertise my petpages, and have the modivation to draw my characters, getting comfortable drawing them through having a reason to draw them: The bc. The Beauty contest was a way to make friends and to have a reason to draw my characters. Without the contest, very few people know that the pet has a design, a character, a life of their own. Before, I had a full deck, plenty of characters to choose from. Easy to win contests where not what I desired, even though I do adore Ruki and Buzz. I trived for a challenge, fighting in lupe, Draik, Gelert, the popular species with wonderful artists, the ones you truely had to WIN against.
I totally, completely and ultimately AGREE with your petition. How can TNT consider the new rule fair for everyone when it's sending every good artist and BCer packing? The majority of what I see nowadays in the BC are scribbles done on MS Paint and cruddy CaPs. Rarely do I ever see a decent drawing.
The BC is ruined. People are getting frozen
unfairly. We are losing our pets from trying to

The art, our friends... our pets.
When I first joined Neopets, I created the more common drawn pets in the Beauty Contest, ones that I can't really draw compared to other artists. The aisha, peophin, and gelert. After finally getting the hang of the BC, I found out that about the only pet that would win is my flotsam. So, on side accounts, I started creating pets that were less common that I could draw. Blumaroos, tuskaninnies, those kinds. I loved the pride of getting a trophy, and that so many people liked my art, because most of the time, I never went on the boards to ask for votes. Well, around that time, they started making a ban of the first place winners. Since my flotsam was popular in the contest, she finally got to win first place, so I entered my blumaroo on a side, whom also won first. That same week my blumaroo won, we were said we couldn't enter on sides. I've been trying to help convince TNT otherwise. You know, I even changed my peophin on my main account to a scorchio so I'd have a better chance of my art being noticed over the copy and pasted ones. Neopets doesn't seem to care about the Neopians that made the site what it is today, they just want the money, and don't want to listen to us anymore.
Even though I do not enter drawings into the BC, I believe the new rule is just viciously taking over the whole BC! Everybody is going crazy whom has wanted to keep putting side pets in the BC! God TNT, take away idiotic rules!
I know that I've never been in the BC before, this is for one simple fact.I can't.But to watch it die before my very eyes is unbearable.I love the BC I use my nearly endless freetime to hunt for drawings from true artists.TNT, you're killing so many people here.And this is a game, a game that so many truely good people have joined I may have never become the artists that I am if it wasn't for the joy of finding so many great pics here.And now that joy is dieing.Save our sides, I don't want this to die before I even had a chance to truely join.
TNT is just making more ways to crush the creativity out of us. In my opinion, anyone who enters the BC just for trophies and money doesn't deserve to be called an artist. I'm just in it for the experience, and because I love my pets from the bottom of my heart. If TNT can't understand that, then this site might not be dying...it might already be dead.
People have been entering the BC on their sides for years. Why change? TNT has became unfair over this year, and it's our time to take a stand for what we like, not what TNT wants. The new BC rules has became uncool to many and ruining the fun to others. Bring back the FUN! Bring back the BEAUTY back in the BEAUTY CONTEST!!!
While I'm not so good at art and haven't been in the BC, I also don't want the community to be damaged by such outrageous, nonesensical rules. I usually go around the BC looking at artwork, and I can say many of them are good. But if that rule continues unamended or unremoved, those amazing artists with that gift will slowly disappear, and may cease to exist here. I believe a pet community should be fair and firm, yet socially and creatively sound. I might even enter the BC as time goes on. But the rule for the BC should be gone now, as there are wonderful artists now who want to show their work and let people cherish and ravish its beauty now. So, Neo Crew, if you can see this, remember this and think how will this effect you and many other people who are here. You should also consider everthing that you have done, because we want changes now.
This is sickening! Sure, I haven't had any luck with the BC, but still it gives some of us something to do. If we have these heavy penalties, isn't it the same effect of getting rid of it altogether?
Week after week for a very long time, I've gone through the BC entries. What I find is vulgar- neopets images scribbled on, stolen artwork, things that I cant even begin to see as the pet they say they are. But many times I see a few great artists- trying to suceed between all the other 'pretend' artists. Yet, I've seen some of them frozen, or kicked out of the BC Because of the quality of their artwork. But while they are scorned because of their art, many scribbles win the BC. SCRIBBLES. Hardly worked on peices of art, if you can call it that. And TNT does nothing to stop it. At all. Sure, they have time to make new avatars, update pets, create new items, yet they dont care enough about artists to listen to us? Without artists, neopets would not exist. Imagine neopets without artists- there would be no pictures, no petpets, nothing. Just an empty site in the middle of nowhere. TNT dosn't care enough about the people who make a difference to listen- even though we ask.
Many people have said this is a dumb rule and should be taken off. I agree. Many people have said BCers arent in it for the money. I agree also. Making people not use side acounts 'gives other people chances' as well as forbidding to earn money. I'm okay with the not earning money part. But all these good artists being banned? No. CAPS and scribbles are now being given a chance, and /winning/. The BC is coming to an end, and I for one do not want that.
As you, TNT, stated in editorial 243 the Neopets site is a game. There is not a way to "beat" this game, but the fun lies within striving for goals on the site. Only a very few lucky people have completed their goals, but many of the ones that had that I have known then turned to the BC to have their fun on the site. They enjoy the camaraderie and competition of the BC, and simply have fun drawing their pets for trophies. This rule combined with the 4 month BC ban means that these individuals who love to draw can only do what they enjoy on this site for 12 weeks a year. 12 weeks. Is there a point for this site the other 36 of the year? Playing a fun game like this for your hobby is not fun when it's only for 12 sporadic weeks of the year. Many have left because of this. Please, TNT, I beg of you, remove the monetary prizes from the BC so we may all have fun again. So the camaraderie will be back. So we can do what we love for the site once again.
I would rather be frozen on my side account because I put my artwork on my side on the BC rather than getting frozen for art theft because I couldn't draw my main account pets on my main account. period.
TNT thinks they're making Neopets better everyday. How obviously stuck in the fog they are. They don't even notice the hundreds of petitions because of their unfair rules. I thought it was stupid when they began rejecting BC entries because of looking too realistic (as said in a petition on Akansho's petpage. You go Aura!), but this is just ridiculous. Some of us can draw our side pets MUCH better than our main pets, and only drawing main pets gets boring. I myself don't even do anything with the BC awards because rewards mean nothing to me. I love the experience. It's fun to compete with everyone and race each other to the free votes boards. Plus I've made some good friends in BC contests. But now thanks to this rule, I probably won't enter it again.
I am appald at the new beauty contest rule. I LOVE each of my pets Highly. 3 out of 4 are in categorys that I can not draw or draw. I was planning on having a side account to enter more pets in the beauty contest! AND i wante dto have fun in the bc. I don't CARE ABOUT the prizes. PLEASE DELETE THIS RULE TNT.
Although I wasn't on Neopets when they announced the new rule for the BC, I feel the rule is very lame. Who cares about monetary prizes and fame? I'll tell you: n00bs and scribblers. They enter the BC every week with 5-second drawings of their pets and advertise all week... and somehow manage to win. Wanna know why? Because the artists of Neopia are limited to one account to draw with. That's 4 or fewer pets! It's enough for people who CAP or scribble, but when you aren't that well of a drawer of a main account pet (I, for example, am not the greatest at Eyries), you don't even have the option of a side account pet (I am also pretty good at drawing Lupes.) I don't CARE about prizes, I just wanna support my pets. Isn't the reason you limit the amount of accounts to five because 'our pets need our love'? Well, doesn't spending hours on a pic of your pet count as love? (By the way... if you don't want people complaining, DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!)
I'm a Mad BCer now, since the new rule about Side acounts came in. I love the trill of entering, the BC. Mostly on side acount pets, since they have cool looks too. DX I sometimes want to just transfer a side pet to my main, and enter him or her in the BC just for that reason...
The only reason I came back to Neopets after my nearly two year long break was so I could get some new characters to draw and roleplay. I remember my friend showing me her BC picture (before the new rule). The idea of the BC sparked my interested, and soon I was sharing an account with my sister. But, of course, as soon as I get a side account with pets I really wanna draw, I hear about this rule. And it made me really sad. And honestly, kinda angry too. It's not like the real artists were entering for a monetary prize anyway. Most of them just like to draw.
I find it very peculiar that TNT allows us to have 5 accounts with 4 pets each, and strongly encourages people not to disown their pets, and to remember "pets are forever"; Yet they are expecting you to treat your pets unequally by entering only the 4 on the main into the BC. Basically, they are saying main account pets are important, side accounts pets are not.
It's nothing less than short-sightedness. They are practically forcing us to transfer, to lose pets, over what? A time-consuming drawing contest? They need to stop this madness. Now.
The Neopians of the world are angered by your latest rule for the Beauty Contest. Majority of the Neopians that enter the Beauty Contest do it for the amusement of others, and for the thrill they get of displaying a piece of art, whether it is assembled on the computer or artistically done by hand! We are the voice of Neopia, we are the determined Beauty Contest entrants that idolize the ability to show their artistic talents to the world! Please, understand that we do it for the pleasure we get out of drawing, not for the items, money or trophy that we set in our trophy cabinent. We do it for our artistic appreciation. Take back the rule and let us draw more, so the art hungry neopians of the world don't starve!
I'm BY NO MEANS an artist. In fact, my art is PATHETIC. I agree, however, that if you take away the 'points, the BC would clean up nicely! I used to look at the BC for the pretty art, but now it's kinda stupid. Actually, very stupid. Everyone looks at the recolors and dumb ones that either look like they were done in three seconds or stolen, or even based off video game characters! I saw a blatent Spyro rip- off once! TNT, hear these artists! Please! Shorten the gold ban, remove the side ban, and for the love of potato skins REMOVE THE 'POINT AND ITEM PRIZES!!
TNT, I have been lurking the BC for a while, looking at the wonderful art. I noticed that more and more scribbles are there. Rarely do I find a very appealing entry that begs for my vote in a sophisticated sense. Most entries say "I am in this to get neopoints, so vote for me." I have thought of entering the BC but I worry that my drawing will not shine through. But with all the scribblings, I think I could possibly catch attention. Maybe get compliments. You should make a gallery for all those who want to enter side pets, because really, I enjoy viewing the art. Please don't ruin the beauty of the BC, no one wants to see that happen. So SoS- Save Our Sides.
What about all those great pets who live on our side accounts? Most of them are there because we either have way too many pets on our main or they are their just to be drawn. What will they do now, eh? Just rot? I love my pets very much, even all my side account pets, but now, thanks to this new rule, we cant enter them into contests! This is so stupid! Please change the rules TNT, i'm begging on my knees!
I may not be a regular BCer, but I do take part in it when I see I have a good picture I want to show, and it's just unfair with that new rule! I want to be able to use pictures of my side account pets in the BC.
I think the new rule is ridiculous and lame. I can only draw 2 of the pets on my main account, Devi and Luibella. The other 2 I'm hopelessly terrible at drawing. My side pets, however, I enjoy drawing, but now they will never be able to be entered unless the rule is changed. I could care less about the NP; I already have several hundred thousand! I just like to have my art displayed, to get compliments and to compliment others, and to take pride in the fact that others enjoy my artwork. That's what makes the BC so much fun. And now, it's not as fn anymore, because if I was to win, I'd feel like it was no big deal; all I was up against were scribbles, anyway. The competition is gone.
I hadn't entered the BC in over six months, but as I was reading that editorial I couldn't help but feel disgusted at TNT. The only people who seem to "profit" from the BC are the nubs who wouldn't know how to play games or rs anyway. Doesn't this imply that TNT has a mind like a nub, then? TNT should really make an effort to understand their own game.

I'm entering the bc soon, and i don't have a side account, so I can only IMAGINE what it's like for people who do! I want TNT to hear us, and respect our words! The words of the people, the owners, the users, the pets. I want them to understand us, look at neopets through our eyes, as if they couldn't make any of the rules on neopets, as if they were you and me, So stand and yell! Let TNT hear us! I'm also making a side account, and what could i like more, than to be able to enter ALL of my pets. So I stand and shout...
TNT... Wow. You've shocked all of us with your increasingly 'crazed' rules. Wait, no you haven't; this isn't the beginning. I was around when Neo allowed younger users to make their own shop desc. which you knew were meaningless. I was 7. 7 You hear me!? Then you took our music, eventually I got over it. Now, our petpages and esc. are hard to complete. Yuck, now my pages are off-site. Sure, that's just a bit mild; it slipped right past. But this 'new rule' is outta hand we're not lettin' it slide. You add your art asking how we should prefer a neopet and we pay attention to your requests, yet you do the opposite for us. Remove the orange from purple pets, let use make art our way as you do yours! Try taking the prizes from the contest. Maybe create a more efficent neo for youngers so they can scribble and win. These REAL artists don't want the NP; do you believe that's all they're after, do you think that lowly of them?! 0_o' Pity. These REAL artists are there to communicate with other artists to build and show their skill - no matter how real it looks; more power to them. Just admit and we'll forget, but for now, your rule is lame. No doubt.
I do not have an image host. I like to put my pictures of my pets in the BC. Whewn people vote on it, it's like they're giving me a compliment on my art (Which I'd LOVE for them to do! ^_^). If not, it's okay. At least people get to see it. My FAVORITE pet to draw is my bori, ChibiBlink. Unfortunately, he is on my side account, and I can't put his picture in the BC. It really makes me mad.
WHY!? is this all happening? I don't even get the fact that you aren't allowed to gain neopoints on your side acounts! It would still take the same TIME and EFFORT to get the money. So TNT,what is this that you are so worried about? Is is because you're thinking of our safety? Or about us cheating? I don't think so. Maybe you're just doing it to release you of some work orother self gaining things. But I think this HAS to stop. This place where so many come to enjoy is crumbling. So I declarea CHANGE!
Before the no-side-pet-entering rule, I used to enter my side account neopets into the BC a lot, probably even more than my main account pets. I would still wish to do that, but now I can't. I DO understand why TNT would make this new rule, but apparently, most people enter because of their love to draw. I, personally, like to draw too, but the other reason I enter the BC is to get a trophy. I've never gotten a trophy (yet!), but I know I soon will! Besides, I had planned to draw ALL my pets anthro style, something I had NEVER done before, and now you, TNT, RUINED it, especially for the side account pets. I wanted to see how well I could draw one of my side pets and enter it, but not now. TNT, you should be ASHAMED of yourselves.
The whole idea that having side accounts entered puts you at some sort of advantage is INSANE. Sure, I suppose you can get by the goldban and all, but if that's your only goal there are plenty of ways to get around that. I mean, if someone was that interested in making money off the BC, they'd just pound the winners and adopt new ones every week.
I'd really love my side account pets to enter the BC, since most of them are better than those on my main account. Why do we need prizes anyway? It's the trophies we all really do want... It's a major SOS! Save Our Sides!
Though I may not enter the BC at all (the last time I did was about 3 years ago), I have a friend who does. I agree that the new rule is silly and urequired. If I was to enter the BC I would want to enter my side pets, because they were created after my main pets, and for roleplaying, so they ultimately are more interesting in both design and personality. I really can't understand TNT now. First they encourage creativity, then seriously inhibit it. I also agree that alot of these people don't care about the money. All they want is to be heard, to be noticed, and to get their art out there. Take away the money prizes, TNT. You'll make everythign better just by doing that.
I agree with each and every previous person's statement; the new rule is pointless, dumb, and just downright frustrating. I almost ALWAYS use a side-account pet for the BC. It's not very fair, really. Please answer our cries. D: TNT, have a heart, and shoot down this crazy rule before you chase us all away. :(
Come on, TNT. I don't even enter the BC (though I did once a long time ago), but I had been hoping to try one day, and now I can't. My main account is a labbing and adoption account, with only two of the pets being permanent, so that leaves me with only two pets I have the option of entering? That's ridiculous! And I just created several pets for the purpose of giving them unique designs and personalities, too. Now there's no point, because I can't show them off to anyone without the BC, since I don't roleplay.
As many others have pointed out, all the dedicated BCers are in it for the chance to show off their artwork, not the prize, so just take away the np and items! Leave it as just a trophy, and all the real artists will be happy, and all the scribbles that are just there for the np will go away. The BC will be a much better place! Please, just listen for a change!
What's the difference when it comes to entering side account pets compared to mains? Our best pets are on our sides. We don't want the money, or items. We want to express, no, but let others feel the imaginations of artists. Especailly for fans of roleplay, They express their personaliyies through art and roleplay, and the bc, is the one place where we can do it.
I always used to love entering my pets on my sides in the BC as well as my main whenever I had the chance, but now, I hate being limited to only my main. My sides have truly amazing pets that I am proud to have! I don't like entering for the points or the prizes! The trophy is the only material thing, but I love getting the compliments and encouragements to draw more! I don't want to risk losing any of my pets to AA, just to get them on my main, and I certainly don't want to switch mains only to get frozen for all my hard work! I'm sure everyone agrees with me when I say: Please TNT, Save Our Sides, Please!
Even though I'm not a BC'er myself - I am a roleplayer with zero art talent -, I fully support you all in your plight. I agree that this rule is stupid and side account pets should be able to be entered. TNT really has gone too far with this 'no entering side account pets' rule. I have always thought the rules have been too strict in the past, but this one really takes the cake.
I never really was in the BC, but loved it anyway. I observed a lot of good art there, and since my art stunk, learned a lot. Now the BC is just a bunch of scribbles, just when I was getting good and thought I might get some regonition. Save our Sides!
Ever since the new species Xweetok came out, I was adored by its loving eyes and the bushy tail and all its cute features. So since my main was already had four pets in it I made my first side and adopted a Xweetok. I am a very good artist so then I decided to draw a few pictures of my new Xweetok for the BC so as I entered it, I anxiously waited for an acceptance from TNT. Then I got a mail from TNT saying I've been rejected because of the new rule. 'REJECTED?!?' I thought. 'I spent hours and hours of my time to be REJECTED?' I find it truly unfair because I can draw Xweetoks very well (I can't really draw any of my main pets) and now that I look closely, I find that the BC entries are full of scribbles. -_- Yay, we just won a trophy from the Scribble Contest.

Dragon's Letter Dear TNT, I'm writing to you now, about a community of Neopians who have stayed on this site, regardless of being forgotten about, unfairly treated, and in some cases simply ignored. I'm writing to you now, about a community of Neopians who have always sat back as their privileges to do what they most enjoy doing slowly faded away... I'm writing to you now, about a community of Neopians that could only rightfully be referred to as artists. Artists who spend hours each day simply trying to create their work. Artists that spend hours each WEEK trying to get that work noticed. And last but not least, the artists who you have all but payed attention to since you first introduced the Beauty Contest to Neopia. When you first began rejecting art work because it was too 'realistic' and yet continued letting in little circles with a happy face as a Lupe, we accepted it. Many of us having to alter our own styles just to continue. When you began rejecting wonderful pieces of artwork, that which is commonly referred to as Anthro, for being too 'human', and yet ignorantly let the default pose of a Bruce with a hat ontop win first overall, we did the same thing. A few tried to stand up against it, but after getting little to no response we were forced to adapt to that as well. And lastly, when wonderful people, who would never dream to go so low as into cheat on a simple pet site began losing everything they worked hard for without explanation, we finally tried to put our foot down. As it was so suddenly announced to us, that one of the only TNT staff members who listened to us, had accidentally been giving us the wrong in-invalid_word-ation, and that our wonderful BC subjects were limited to only 4 pets...many finally grouped together in an attempt to change things back. Change things to make the Beauty Contest more fair for everyone. So that scribbles and Copy and Paste pictures would no longer beat hours worth of effort. So that, this small population of Neopia could continue doing what they enjoy most on Neo. Draw...and let their work be appreciated...
But you never listened.
One can only wonder why. I'm writing to you now, because we're tired of being ignored. And we're tired of being punished for things we didn't do.
