Ecchimous saunters out of his lab, humming a merry tune to himself as he locks the door to keep curious little hands from messing with his inventions. He turns around as he puts the key card in his pocket, his lifts his eyes and freezes mid-step as he notices the people watching him, his eyes wide like a Christmas Ixi caught in the Headlights of an oncoming Neotrak, "Um.... Hello..?".

The Grundo streightens up, recomposing himself and striking a thoughtful pose. After a few seconds of resting his chin in his palm and biting his thumb while resting his elbow in his hand, he perks up, his looking up again and putting the side of one fist lightly into the palm of his other hand, showing he got the answer he was thinking for, "Oh! You must be here for the Makeable directory, since usually people won't seek out grundo's with alias's of "EcchiEcc2" unless there was something there they want.." He grins slyly, striking a more flurished "Dreamer" pose, "It's either that... Or you heared about how handsome I am and wanted to check it out for yourself.".

He holds the pose for a few seconds before laughing good naturedly, "Ah, I'm only kidding about that second one. Here, let me get you the rules for you.".

Going to another part of the building, he opens another room, humming another tune as his long and slender ears drape on his shoulders, and walks in, a sign up board on a desk and the rules on the wall. Shelves with holographic panels show off different models of makeables, made by the many members of neopia, "Here we go. The Makeable Directory. Everything you need is here, but if you have any questions, be sure to ask me..".

The grundo plops down on a large, overstuffed couch, draping a lanky leg over one side and watches you with amuzement, just basking in the glow of having company.

With that statement, he leaps backwards, throwing himself across the over stuffed couch, humming to himself and leaving you to your own devices.

Do the line art in MS paint – More people will be able to use it.

If you do a Shaded Version, try posting one without the shading.

If your adopts are Anthro and wearing clothing, try to also make a version where they are wearing a tight leotard so people can easily make their own customized clothing for their characters. If you must have clothing on them, try to keep it sleaveless and keep them as pants. If you wish, you can have costumes like kimonos and dresses in an extras section of the makeable page.

Try keeping your lines thin, just one or two pixels wide – Otherwise editing the line art to fit your character is Even more time consuming since you have to make your lineart look good against the original template

K.I.S.S. – Keep It Simple Silly. Lots of details can kill a makeable.

Larger makeables ARE easier to edit and don't require zooming in as much, but try keeping them adoptable size. Make them too large and they won't have many uses.

If your adopt has something like a wing covering a large amount of body, try making a version without wings as well -- Its easier to add your own type of wings or leaving off wings on a wingless template then removing the wings and redrawing large parts of the body.

Keep the areas inside the lines as open as possible so the paint bucket tool can get most of the area. This can include

If a species has markings – scaly belly, spots, circles around the eyes, make the color of them different then the main body outline so people can get rid of it quickly if its not part of their characters design.
