The sounds of the waves lapping over each other ringed through the shore, slishing and sloshing, and the sound of skrawking seagulls from above. Small hermit crabs scuttled to and fro, diving into little holes and avoiding passers by. You, on the other hand, stood alone, the wind sweeping your hair in your face as you, and many other people on the nearby harbor watch a boat close in on the pier. Cheers could be heard from little children and adults playfully pointing their fingers at the boat that is soaring though the ocean to the docks.
It has a golden coloured sail, which is swinging in the wind, unripped. Both the port and the starbourd are beautifully cleaned, shining in the sun. The main mast and the lower yard are both in splendid condition, and it's no wonder that people aren't pointing to the ship's captain, a kougra with a black velvet pirate hat, his golden hair flowing through the wind.
The whole thing disgusted you. The captains cheesy smile, his broad position, and the overall clean-ness of the boat. A pirate ship is something you are supposed to be afraid of, not welcome with open arms.
You look towards the right, and spot another ship. Although it's not as clean as the other one, you can see from the craftmanship of the boat that it is surely genuine. The crows nest and the lower mast are both covered in gunk from the sea, the port and starbourd are both dull and lifeless, the sails are all tattered and the skull and crossbones is faded, but it's certainly a proper pirate ship.
As it draws closer, you see the true beauty of it. The sides are rimmed with gold, and although it's slightly dirty, the poop-deck shines in the sun. Treasure chests are placed here and there, and the coins are scattered in places, as if the captain has too much to count.
Speaking of the captain, you finally get a good look at him. He's a pirate lupe, with a bandana and three golden earrings. His ears twitch at the sounds of the ocean, his eyes in a restless stare. He grins upon seeing you, and greets you with a swift wave of his sword, a musket with fire flying somehow from it.
This is certainly a genuine pirate.
