New At Stocks? Here is a Basic Guide

First things First... You need to know what everything is for and how to get around the stock room.

FAQ's

01.how much np do u really need to start stocks and actually make a profit? - to make a really good profit about 100k - to make 50-100k then only about 15k. Any amount is good for beginners and to get to know the stock room. Just make sure you don't need the np any time soon.

02.how long does it usually take to make a lot of nps? - depends on the stock. It can take a couple days or a few months.

03.how much do you usually earn? - I made my first million in a month off of stocks. It can vary from person to person based on what stocks they pick, how much they put into it, and how long they wait to sell.

04.are stocks safe? Stocks are a gamble, but if you chose a stable stock and don't sell for less than you paid and are patient.. then they are fairly safe. Very rarely will a stock go bank... but it hasn't happened for a few months so be wary.

05.which stocks are good? - depends on the current prices at the time of purchase. Some of my personal favorites are PEOP, TNAH, and EEEEE when they are between 15-18.

06.WHY IS NO ONE ANSWERING ME? - the stock board moves almost as slow as the stocks themselves. If you make a new board and come back 2 hours later it will still be on the front page of the stock boards. So be patient and no need to bump ever minute. If you want a quicker way to know if someone can help you then request anyone who reads it to neomail you instead of posting. is a good thing to save to your favorites for easy access. It tells you all the stocks you own, how many of each, what you paid for it, and how much it is worth right now. This is also the page you go to, to sell your stocks, which I will explain later.

Here is a full list of stocks you can buy. You can click on any ticker symbol to pull up the profile for that company and see its competitors. You can also see what is good to buy from this page.

How to BUY a Stock

Now to chose a stock you like.
neodaq.com has a full list of stocks and their habits to give you an idea what stocks are good investments. But you still have to remember that Neopets stocks are random and don't always follow a pattern.

Go to to see a full list of stocks available and the price they are currently at.

If you already know the Ticker of the stock you want to purchase you can just go straight to the purchase page

you can purchase 1000 shares per day. Only stocks at 15np or higher are buyable. If you buy 20 shares you won't see much of a profit. Buying 1000 shares a day you will see a huge difference.

Try not to put all your money on one stock. Stocks are unpredictable and vary in movement. Purchasing and trying to get others to purchase a stock will NOT influence the stock market like in does in real life.

Purchasing a variety of stocks is a safer and faster way to make neopoints. 2k here and 2k there in 6-8 stocks will almost guarantee one of them will go up sooner than if you buy 1-2 stocks in bulk. Both techniques can make you np over time though.
*I usually have 2-3 different stocks at a time and purchase in high volume. NOTE: this is not a good strategy for everyone. Wait till you get more comfortable with your stocks to see which ones you like and trust before buying a couple stocks in bulk*

Recommended buying range for stocks are 15-20np

NEVER sell at a loss unless for some reason you need the neopoints RIGHT NOW. Stocks have been known to go down to 5np per share and still come back up and spike at 100np.

Recommended selling range is 55-60np if you are confident in your stocks and don't need the neopoints right now.

If you are looking for a short-term profit or are really nervous about a stock sell at around 30np.

Here is a visual example of good buying and selling points.
*NOTE: I am not saying these particular stocks are good or bad to buy. These numbers are just examples to give you a visual aid*

IF YOU ARE BUYING A STOCK... LEARN TO BE PATIENT... Stocks are not good for people who are looking to make a quick million in 2 days. Stocks are a waiting game. You can make a HUGE profit in stocks if you are patient and diligent. In stocks you need money to make money.

How to SELL a stock

Go to

on the left side of the stock logo there is a little gray arrow... Click on it

Under where it says Sell type in the number of that particular stock you want to sell in each box

Make sure you have 20np on hand. The stock keeper takes it as commission for one full sale *not for each set of shares sold*

click the Sell Shares button at the bottom of the screen
