What is a Paint brush?Most Neopians know this already, but this is for the newbies out there: A paint brush is a way to make your pet look unique. It is sort of a mark of status to have your pet painted, as the paintbrushes are rather expensive. They are not sold in any store, but come from either #1. a very rare random event #2. World maps #3. Winning a game of chance such as the fruit spin or #4. Occasionly from Tarlas toolbar.

Notes
- DO NOT confuse paint brushes (especially the plushie paint brush) with paint brush plushies!!! These are 2 completely different items and will not paint pets, petpets, or plushies!
- DO NOT confuse paint brushes with "paint" that is sold at the school supplies shop! Like plushie paint brushes, it will not paint pets, petpets, or plushies.
- A note about petpet paint brushes: These will paint petpets, and are avalible in an even wider range of colors than regular paint brushes. I will consider adding a section on petpet paint brushes to this guide. UPDATE: This has been done. Visit Sammy's guide for petpet paint brush prices
- A note about the laboratory map: This is another (risky) way to paint your pet. They cost around 7 to 800k, and one of the possible outcomes is your pet turning a cool color. See my favorite links for an in-depth lab map guide.
- A note about Glass and Stone paint brushes: These were paint brushes that, at the beginning of neopets, turned your pet these colors. They were discontinued, however, and now do NOT work on any pet. Do not get tricked into buying one of these for an absurdly high price.
