Faerie Bubbles
The Unofficial Bakon FAQ
| How to score 2000† This FAQ assumes that you can score 500 points comfortably already and are going for the avatar... so if you can't get to 500, practice up and com on back here y'all. |
Provided screen shots |
| The Beginning: Here is the beginning, things are going okay for you I'm guessing. You know the routine, get three bubbles touching and then they disappear. Good to know that you got this far. I suppose you should be scoring anywheres from 60 to 90 points per level. That sounds about average. Someday, you may be getting abouts 100 per level. That takes skill, skill that I don't currently posess as of yet, but I get lucky from time to time. Remember, after every 3 or 4 bubbles or so the "well" moves down. You may get "lucky" by having a nova bubble show up to clear out some junk, or not. These random appearances may make the difference to the end score. Well, I only still have have the silver trophy, so I don't know that much yet... -_- |
|
| Bonus points: These may be the primary bread and butter of all scoring. The less bubbles you use to clear the screen, the more bonus points you will get for said level. Sweet eh'. That's right I used eh'... I'm Canadian that's why so if you don't like it, take off eh' I don't have a chart or nothing like that, so here is the breakdown... clearing it in one bubble gets you 250 points, 2 gets 200, 3 gets 150, 4 gets 100 and then it goes down from there by 10's then 5's | |
| The second bubble: Take a look at the bubble after the one that you got, it may work for you, it may not... in the provided example... shoot the two white ones instead of the 1 white one first, then you can flame the rest of the bubbles on the other side after that. This is like level 2 or something so not much to learn here... | |
| Dangles! That's right, I dangle my bubbles not unlike a Candian hockey player dangles the puck on a stick... I don't know why that -disallowed_word-Dangles Continued) If you are so lucky as to eliminate a color if, for the most part, will not return. The exceptions to this rule is -Making a Light combo and changing the surrounding bubbles to something that you already eliminated -Making a Dark Bubble Combo |
This space intentially left blank |
| Stage 6 & 7 Hey... you here already? Good, because these levels are somewhat a pushover... just shoot the bubbles up and match... voila. Don't tell me it's hard because I got a 5 year old who has NO problem with clearing these two levels. | |
| Level 8! w00t... I've posted about the hardest layout that you can get at level 8. This is the level that stopped me most of the time... it may stop you. Especially if you got a pant load of earth and air bubbles all abouts. Pray for Fire and Water and Light and that's all I got to say about that. Do your best. If in doubt, try to form fire combos to burn away the edges so that you don't make air combos. | |
| Level 10 Level 9 should be a cakewalk if not then I may have to fill out the FAQ. Anyhoo... I got a special treat for level 10. It usually has water bubbles located as such. I find if you wait for a water bubble and clear it out, you can clear the level with a couple of well place fire bubbles(Up the red arrows)... everything else can be dumpped off(As noted by the black arrows). If you start the level with Water-Fire-Fire, then you can get a quick 150† points, that feels good right. | |
| Level 11 Sometimes fun sometimes no. I like to talk a little bit about AIR bubbles and how they aint so bad. In the provided example, a usualy layout. Just shoot the bubble up into the hole. Aircombos only fill the screen down to where they were made. So in this case the other holes will be filled... and will be burned away. Also, This is where I'm going to say that light bubbles can be more of a curse sometimes as it can turn good bubbles bad and that is a pain. | |
| Level 12 or 13 The line levels. They can be okay, especially if the top row is made of water and you can for a 4 in a row water combe below it. A line of fire can burn away other non water lines. Sometimes 3 bubbles clear the level, sometimes not. Also, This is where I'm going to restate that a line of air bubbles is not that bad. When it forms a combo, it will drop itself down and everything it formed below it.... try it, it's fun... I mean really fun... like faerie kind of fun... | |
| Level 14 Here is where the game can be SO not fun... There are two rows of bubbles of all random assortments... get as many cleared as you can in any way possible... I personally like a spattering of fire bubbles to do away with the rack. But you must complete one of the good combos(fire, light, water) to clear the screen pure. I have no image for this... I'm still reading the manual of HTML... see the side. Now you may be saying... Bakon, I'm inept, just like you!... and there is a plan for that. That plan is type in codes... When required and the bubbles are at the bottom of the well type in the word slumberberry and that resets the height of the well. BAM, this level just became half as easy. Sweet. | |
| Level 15!!! Cripes!!! 3 Rows... Never fear... here is where the type in
codes are used again. Some people like to save them, but I prefer to get to the point.
Type in bubbles and tall of the bubbles change to one color if required... Type in faerieland to change the current bubble into the required bubble Shoot said bubble, and if the bubbles are not black or green, you got 250 bonus points BAM! | |
| Level 18! Yes, I skipped a couple of levels, you were there, they wern't that hard. So here is Level 18! The trick here is to use the type in code stardust to get the nova bubble. Now use your powers of reflection and bank it off the right wall... BAM, level over in one shot. That's another 250 bonus points. You can get lucky and have the color that is the top two bubbles, it's a bit tougher to squeek it in there, but this is one of those dangling levels |
|
| Finally Level 20! Well, good luck. If you didn't need any type in codes, you can use them here. But if you wait until this level is over, Win or Lose, you get 250 bonus points just for showing up. |
