I was born in one of many forests in Meridell. Our herd was quite small and very isolated from the rest. The leader thought it was better that way.
I was born with several 'differences' from the others. For some odd reason I inherited fangs, probably from some of our ancestors. There weren't and still aren't of much use to me, well, maybe just to scare someone. The second thing I had or, rather, didn't have was a horn. So, I'm not really your 'classic' uni then. No horn meant no magic and I was jokingly called 'worthless' by my friends or so I thought that they were. I was little and didn't understand and laughed with them at their silly jokes.
Anyway...the herd's isolation was the reason they are all gone now.
...Raids from the wolf packs were quite common, yet we didn't expect anything like that. There were dozens of them, everywhere, snarling and waiting for the right moment to strike. All the adults in the herd tried to protect the foals, but there were too man wolves out there. I remember being told to run by someone, perhaps it was my mother and so I ran. I ran faster than I ever did before, the fear driving me on. I don't think anyone was chasing me, but it didn't matter...
I never saw any of my herd again...Sometime later I went to Meridell Town and there I was picked up by Mary. She never insisited on me staying with her like other 'pets', so I went to Lost Desert. It just seemed the most fitting place for me at the time. I felt at peace there, at least for a while.
...Now I just wander around the desert on my own. I'm not a knight, nor do I belong to the Sakhmet Army, although I fight on their side when I can.
