[.Meadow's Pets.]

[.Introduction.]

You're finding yourself wishing you lived here; it's a very peaceful and well-tended neighborhood. The road you're currently walking on is made of dirt, yet it has a neatly-kept feeling to it. The houses here are slightly on the bigger side, most with two stories and expansive, well-groomed lawns. They are set back from the road and partially hidden by tall, leafy trees that cast dappled shadows on the ground. A refreshing breeze blows idly through the trees, making their leaves rustle. There is an occasional passer-by, most who give you a friendly nod or a "Lovely day, isn't it?".

As you make your way slowly down the road, a fire gelert suddenly cuts in front of you, emerging suddenly from a pathway leading to the house on your right. He's yelling, "Snowfire, get back here!". Unfortunately, as you were not prepared for his sudden appearance, you trip over him, pushing both of you to the ground. He jumps up immediately, the blue collar at his neck jingling. "I'm really sorry," he said breathlessly, helping you up, "My Gruslen has run off again..."

You glance behind you and see a white Gruslen trotting up to you happily. Its tusks look dangerous, and you back up involuntarily. The gelert laughs. "Don't worry, he's really friendly," then he frowns at the petpet, "I keep telling you, Snowfire, stop running off!" The Gruslen, obviously named Snowfire, seems to be grinning sheepishly. The gelert rolls his eyes at you and smiles amiably. "Why don't you rest for a bit at my house? It's the least I can do for knocking you over." You nod and he leads you down the quiet pathway to the house beyond, Snowfire trailing behind.

It's a very well-kept house, painted a gray-blue color. A colorful flowerbed decorates the foundation, and the door is painted a mint-green color. The gelert leads you inside and takes you to a couch in the living room. "I'll be right back," he says, and pads up the stairs, followed by his Gruslen. You look around, and notice that the kitchen is behind you, and a room with a bed - you guess it's the guest room - is to your right. Also at the right are the stairs, which lead up out of sight to the second floor. The room has a lived-in feel to it, and isn't short of comfy chairs, beanbags, and rugs.

The fire gelert appears again, this time without the Gruslen. "Come on up," he beckons, and you follow him up the stairs. You catch a glimpse of a pastel-colored bedroom, where a plushie Shoyru was playing with an immense collection of plushies with a rather unique cloud-plushie Icklesaur playing with her. But the gelert leads you further, up another staircase you hadn't noticed from the ground floor. The stairs open up into a room made of cloud and decorated with numerous rugs and beanbags. Along one wall was a huge water tank, in which three petpets - a Pepito, a Tanizard, and a fire Ghoti - swam, along with two cages, one holding the white Gruslen Snowfire and the other a Hooklen. At the sight of you, all the petpets became excited, the water petpets swimming in circles and making bubbles, and the Hooklen and Gruslen jumping up against their cages eagerly.

The gelert indicates for you to relax in one of the beanbags strewn about the room, which you do willingly. Jumping onto another, he smiles at you. "I suppose I should introduce myself..." Hooklen - Blarg White Gruslen - Snowfire Aurora - Pepito Dreams - Tanizard Ember - Ghoti

[.Personality.]

I'm Cinderblaze. What's your name? guest? Nice to meet you! Anyway, I live here with my two younger sisters Pureway, a Zafara, and Blazingdust, the Shoyru you undoubtably saw playing, as always, with her plushies. I also live here with Sharde, an ice Bori. I call him my brother, but he really isn't, along with Pureway and Blazingdust. But I'll get to that in a little bit.

Let's see, what do I like...well, I enjoy petpets, as you can see by the five in their respective tanks and cages over there. I love companions that never judge you and never talk back, but are always there to give you love when you need it! Here, I'll introduce them...

There's Blarg the Hooklen. He's actually really really shy, but tries not to act like it.

You've already met Snowfire, the white Gruslen. He's so full of energy it's hard keeping a hold on him sometimes. It always looks like he's going to attack you, but he just jumps on you and tries to lick your face off.

The Pepito's name is Aurora. He's always embarrassed that I gave him a girl's name, but he just has to deal with it. I've had him the longest, if you don't count my first petpet, a regular Gruslen who died a while back of old age...

That's Dreams the Tanizard. I never really meant to buy her, but when I was getting some supplies at the petpet store one time, she caught my eye and I just HAD to get her. She has endless amounts of love for anyone, and she's really gentle.

And last but not least is Ember, the fire Ghoti. I got him as a birthday present last year, because he matches me so well. He likes it when I take him to our pool out back and let him swim with me in it.

Other than petpets, I also love hanging out with friends, because I'm a very social creature. Most of the time you can find me at a friend's house or having a friend over at mine. I also, believe it or not, like spending time with my family here. In a sense they're my best friends.

What I don't like, on the other hand, is being serious - it's pretty much impossible for me - and storms. Rain is okay, but when it starts flashing lightning and cracking thunder...honestly, I usually cower on the couch downstairs, and I can never make myself go up to my room, since it's the only room on the third floor and it's closest to the clouds. Call me a wimp, but I hate storms.

Now I think I'm going to tell you more about how I came to be here...

[.History.]

Not even Sharde is 100% sure, but we think I was born in the desert. I just remember flashes of hot sun and sand, a small hut, and then a roaring fire and creatures yelling and screaming. So, obviously, we infer that whatever pack or village I was in was destroyed in a fire, and I wandered for days through the desert, maybe the only survivor (since we've never been able to reach other survivors), trying to find civilization. I must have been one or two at the time.

Eventually, a desert traveller - I never found out his or her name - found me, took pity on me, and nursed me back to health. But the traveller's life was not fit for someone as young as I, so amidst much tears, the traveller took me to a nearby orphanage, where I could be better cared for.

Not too long after I entered the orphanage, Sharde, maybe twenty-something at the time, visited because he wanted to have a child to raise by himself (he has a knack of getting along with children, and loves to play with and babysit them). He chose me and carried me back to his new home, this house. Pureway soon followed from another orphanage, and then years later Blazingdust came. He has cared and housed all three of us ever since.

[.Fire.]

Now, this whole time, I was just a simple red color. But despite the scary, patchy memories of the fire while I was very young - or maybe because of them - my biggest dream was to be fire. When I was little, every time I saw a fire-colored pet walk past, I would yell and run to them and start excitedly poking their fur or touching their fire marks. Sharde would always have to pull me away from them with an embarrassed apology. He decided to fix this problem by taking me to the Rainbow Pool for my 12th birthday. Unbeknownst to me, he had been saving for a fire paint brush for years, and had finally bought one. It was the best day of my life; I remember it clearly. He dropped the paint brush in the pool and it turned a dark gray color. Anxiously, for I wasn't sure what exactly was going to happen, I stepped in. Nothing happened when I touched the water, so I splashed around for a bit, but soon got concerned when the only thing that changed was red fur to dark gray fur when I fully immersed myself in the water. Thinking Sharde had accidentally bought a shadow paint brush instead, I was about to make my way to the edge when suddenly flames shot up around me, completely obscuring my view of the edge of the pool. With a yelp I fell back into the water and flailed about, completely underwater. Finally I surfaced, gasping for air, and noticed the flames were gone. Sharde was looking at me with concern as I came up, and his -disallowed_word-opacity=100);border-color:black; border-style: solid; border-top-width: 1px; border-right-width: 1px; border-bottom-width: 1px; border-left-width: 1px; scrollbar-arrow-color: white; scrollbar-track-color: white; scrollbar-face-color: red; scrollbar-highlight-color: white; scrollbar-3dlight-color: white; scrollbar-darkshadow-color: white; scrollbar-shadow-color: white;">

[.Bye.]

As you finish looking at his collection, he stands up and lets Blarg and Snowfire out. The Gruslen promptly jumps on you and starts licking your face. "Gerroff!" Cinderblaze says, pushing his petpet off. The Hooklen approaches you slowly, sniffs your hand, then nudges it, and you pet his head gingerly. Finally, you get up to leave. "Thanks for you're hospitality," you say, and Cinderblaze grins. "No problem. You can return anytime. I love visitors." You smile as you leave his house. You'll come back this way again, maybe just for the purpose of visiting him again.
