Caniris hands you a small book entitled, My Story. You open it curiously.Chapter 1: The Beginning
It all started on Kyla's birthday. She only had one pet then... Danieu. He was a crazy, red gelert, and he had no idea what to get Kyla on her birthday. Although, he knew what he wanted. Being an only child was starting to get to him. So, he decided to give Kyla a new neopet for her birthday. He went to the Create-A-Pet Center and looked around, unsure of what to do. There were rows and rows of eggs, sorted by gender and species. He knew that Kyla's favorite neopet was a gelert, but did she want a girl or a boy? Danieu thought for a moment. Perhaps she wanted a girl, since she already had him. He grabbed the one that caught his eye. It was white, unlike the others. Most eggs were either blue, red, yellow, or green. He managed to bring it home without dropping it, and he presented it to Kyla immediately. Kyla was overjoyed. So, they both waited for it to hatch. After a while, the egg hatched, and out popped a white gelert puppy, giggling happily. Both Kyla and Danieu were awestruck. The only gelerts that weren't born blue, red, yellow, or green weren't born from eggs... Why was this one so special? They shrugged it off. Now it was time to choose a name.
Chapter 2: The Name
Kyla decided to wait for the personality to show before she named the puppy. This stage took weeks, as Kyla takes forever to decide on something. Finally, the day came. Danieu was showing his little sister around Neopia when they came to Faerieland. the white pup was fascinated with the power of the Rainbow Fountain, watched over by the lovely Rainbow Fountain Faerie. Every once and a while, the fountain would fill with color, and a neopet's appearance would change. She had to get a taste of that water. So, she waited in the bushes for the fountain to fill with color again. Eventually, a few owners and their pets approached the Rainbow Fountain Faerie. One asked for their Kougra to become spotted, another for their Lupe to become striped, and the final one for their Eyrie to turn rainbow. The faerie nodded, and the fountain flowed with color. Once it did, the pup, not knowing any better, drank some before Danieu could stop her. Her body started to glow, and rainbow stripes appeared on her back, as well as rainbow dots behind her eyes - a mix of all three of the colors the owners had asked for. The pup was thrilled. Danieu took his sister back home, unsure of what to think. Once Kyla saw her, she knew what her name must be. She took Candice, which was Greek for white, and Iris, which was Greek for rainbow, and put them together to get Caniris.
Chapter 3: Chocolate
Soon after Caniris was named, she had her first taste of chocolate. Her brother had bought some, and offered her a piece. Little did he know what he would start. As soon as Caniris tasted the chocolate, she fell in love with it. This gave her an idea. She would start a candy store! Kyla thought it was a great idea, so they bought an old, run-down shack along the beach in Mystery Island. With a lot of hard work, the building was eventually fixed up to look like new. Caniris's Candyland was now in business!
Chapter 4: Petpet
One day as Caniris was taking her chocolate break outside the store, she heard a soft whistle from behind her. Thinking it was Kyla trying to get her attention, she turned around, but there was no one there. Although she was confused, she shrugged it off and went to grab her half-eaten chocolate bar. To her surprise, a Beekadoodle was nibbling away at her chocolate! Caniris laughed and fed the rest of the chocolate to the petpet. Caniris named the Beekadoodle Aria, and the two became inseperable.
Chapter 5: Petpetpet
Aria became a sort of guard for the store, pecking at obnoxious young neopets who tried to steal candy. In return she often got pieces of candy, but sometimes she ate a few when Caniris' back was turned. One morning, Caniris noticed that some of her stock had gone missing. All that remained of the gummies and the cookies were crumbs. Perplexed, she asked Aria if she had been sneaking sweets when she wasn't looking. In response, a little Rainblug crawled out from under Aria's wing. Caniris giggled. Rainblugs were known for eating almost anything. She named the petpetpet Skittles and made sure to keep a special store of food for it so it wouldn't eat her entire store.
Chapter 6: ?
The book stops there, so you close it and hand it back to Caniris. Why does it end like that? you ask.
Because my story is still being written, silly! she laughs.
