Intro
Stupid maps..." you mutter bitterly to yourself. Who would write a map in such small print? It was almost impossable to read, let alone use it to navigate your way through this winding forest. The poor lighting that danced through the trees wasn't exactly helping either, especially when combined with all the sticks, leaves, and other forest debree that littered the rather soft ground. With all of these things working against you, it made it hard to tell if you were walking in circles or not. There were never any landmarks that stood out until finally, after countless minutes of walking in circles, you suddenly hear a voice ask calmly.
Just where ARE you trying to go?
You look around surprised and see an anthro blue acara just sitting on the ground watching you. She closes her dark blue eyes and sighs as she explains, I've seen you pass here three times already, you see.
Then why didn't you say anything before? You ask with a tinge of indignance.
Oh, well you see I have this nasty habit of assuming people know where they're going, the acara replied with a small smirk. Need some help? I know this forest inside and out, she asked climbing to her feet. Her smirk was replaced by a helpful smile.
Suuuuuuure, why not. Anything's better than staying in this forest.. you think as the acara takes the map from you. Wait, the map? I thought you knew this place inside and out? Why do you need the map? you point out. She stops squinting at the map to look up at you.
I do. I wanted to know why the map wasn't working for you, though it's kinda obvious now that I look at it. I didn't even think it was humanly possable to write and draw that small, she laughed. Anyway, where is it you're trying to go? the acara asks and holds up the map for you to point it out.
Here. you say pointing to your destination. I'm guest, by the way.
The acara blinks before smiling again, And I'm Blizzard. C'mon, it's this way.

So you must come here often, huh? You ask in an attempt to make conversation. Blizzard has been completely silent as she lead you through the dense forest. The lack of friendly noise had only increased the tense atmosphere the "path" was taking. It had started so chipper too, when had it began to turn darker?
The acara didn't reply.
Blizzard? You ask louder and she suddenly jumps and turns back to look at you.
Sorry, what? she asks looking a bit dazed. Must have been pretty deep in thought.
I had just asked if you were here often since you know your way around so well, you repeat. The beginning of a smile tugged at the teenager's thin lips.
More often than I would ever want to admit, Blizzard laughed. She reached out a hand to brush a nearby tree trunk fondly as she walked past. Actually... I used to live real close by. It's on the way to your destination but we're going around. The acara paused to look back at you and there was an obvious sadness in her deep blue eyes. Seeing it would only depress you. Where my village once stood, there is only a large crater now.
