So, you want to join Premium? Or, have you just joined & don't know what to do now ?
Well, my first piece of advice is this:- There are 2 sorts of people on Premium (just like anywhere else on Neopets). The first will do all they can to help you, the others will do all they can to trip you up. So, you need to find & listen to the first sort, & just ignore the others.
I certainly don't claim this to be an exhaustive Premium Guide. Other Premium members also have pages to help you, these include, Leto's, or Flosset's page, which I used when I first joined. |
  
What is Premium?
Premium is a package of exciting features for every Neopian. You have the option of the package through your current internet provider or, as a Dial-Up Service, which includes the package, but is also your internet provider. There is a charge for both options, which can be paid either monthly or yearly.
There are 2 methods to join, you can either wait for Neopets to advertise openings (which is how I got in), or by getting referred by a current Premium member, for this method, please see Referrals. |
  
Types of Service
| There are 2 types of Premium Service, and here is a brief description of each.

* Unlimited E-mail storage
* Have up to 5 additional Premium accounts (called Sub-Accounts, in addition to the alias account.)

Signing Up
When you get your referral, you'll be taken to a page to sign up. To activate your trial period, you have to enter a credit card number or a verified paypal account number. You will not be charged during your 15 day trial, but you MUST cancel before the end of the trial if you don't want to continue, otherwise you will be automatically charged.
Neopets will NOT alert you when your trial period is up. It is up to you to keep track of the time and cancel if you don't wish to continue.

Please only use this option as a last resort as theses lot receive large volumes of emails covering many issues and, as this is a time sensitive issue, it's best to get an immediate reply with your confirmation number.

- Reason for cancellation
After you cancel your subscription you will still remain a "premium member" with all the features that are included until the end of the trial period or month/year that you have already prepaid for.

Webmail SHH?
SHH means Something Has Happened. Everyone gets them while wandering around Neopia. But, as a Premium Member you occasionally get them in your web mail!
If you don't get any for a while try this link to check if any have gone unnoticed (it couldn't possibly be Neopets having a problem notifying you). If you do have any waiting to collect, just click on the date & collect your rewards! |
  
Premium Neodeck Cards
Every month you are with Premium, you will be given a Premium Neodeck card. You can't use them or sell them. We think Neopets started doing this as another little perk of being a Premium member.
To find the ones you have, go to your user lookup & there will be a link to your premium cards beneath your neodeck information. |
  
Alias Accounts
The account you joined premium with is your Main Premium Account, but you can have one alias account for a gallery and extra pets.
If you already have a side account, you can go to your Webmail Options and Settings & turn it into your Alias account.
But remember, your alias is just a side account - you MUST NOT earn NPs, have a shop, do the dailies, etc. or you will be frozen. |

How to Get Referrals
There are several ways to get referrals. You could put a banner in your shop & your user lookup Change your status to STEALTH!, this has been known to intrigue people. Once in awhile you might get a neomail asking about premium, let them know your thoughts on Premium, & always tell them the truth!
Once you find someone that wants to join premium, all you have to do is go to Refer a Member & enter their username.
Remember, each member can only be referred once !
If for some reason you want to delete any of your referrals, you need to have a minimum of 10 referrals, who have had not signed up for the trial after 7 days. To do this, just go to the Referral Status Page & click DELTE next to the name you want to remove. If the link's not there, you can't to do it.
Referral Rewards
To be eligible for the rewards, you & the referrals must have completed the 15 day trial & have payed at least once to get any of these rewards.
If the member later cancels, you won't loose the premium sidebar, avatar and space charm. They are only lost if you cancel the premium service.
For each of the referrals that purchase Premium , you will receive one of the following:
1st Referral: 1,000NP & 10 Random Codestones (Original, not Red Ones)
2nd Referral: Lucky Faerie Space Charm 
(With this charm, flash games will randomly double your NP payout and you may receive more random events in the site. )
3rd Referral: Paint Brush- Your choice between Snow, Electric, Starry, and Disco
4th Referral: Premium Avatar

10th Referral: Choose one of FIVE Collector Packages:

No need to worry about how to go about claiming your prize, TNT will neomail you when someone you have referred has signed up beyond the trial period! When you get that neomail, go to Referral Rewards & a link will be there to click on if you have a prize to claim.

Space Faerie Scratchcard
Every Friday you will receive a webmail with a link to your Scratchcard. Just use your mouse to scratch whichever circles you like and if you win the prize will automatically be added to your
account.
Sometimes the webmail has problems, & you won't receive notification of the scratchcard. You can still access the card by going to your Portal Page & clicking on Scratch Card, which is in the Quick Links.
Some of the prizes you could win are : 250np, 300np, 500np, 2000np, Space Faerie Plushie, Space Faerie Keychain, Space Faerie Pen, Space Faeries Shield, Space Faerie Tales, Space Faerie Beanbag, Neocola tokens, and the coveted Orbulon.
Space Faerie Vending Machine
You may, if you're lucky, get a Mysterious Token from your Scratchcard. If you do, take it here and get a prize. I've been told the prizes aren't that grand, Bottled Faeries, Codestones & the like, but it's free!! |
  
What to Do if I Get Frozen
WARNING! Premium users are held to the same rules and terms of use as everyone else on Neopets. There are no exceptions when it comes to the rules. If you break a rule, you will be frozen, and if you're frozen for breaking a rule, you won't get your account back.
But, sometimes mistakes are made. If this is the case, you do have an chance to look into the reason for your freezing, and have the situation reviewed. There is no guarantee that you'll get your account unfrozen though.
Go to http://premium.neopets.com/login .aspx?ReturnUrl=/frozen.aspx Then, log in by entering the username of your frozen account as well as the word that you use to log into Premium.
Once logged in, you'll be asked to enter some information to verify that you are the owner of the account. This will include Username, E-mail address, Disowned Pets, Created Pets, Equipped Items, Neofriends, Date of Birth on the account, and any additional information that may be of help
Don't submit more than one inquiry about your account. All you can do now is wait while they review your account and the reason/s it was frozen.
The best thing you can do is plan for the worst. Keep a Word or Notepad document saved that has all the vital information about your account. That way, all the information will be at hand if you do need it later, & you're also not stressed out trying to remember everything. A great pet page for stuff to keep a list of can be found here.
