Neopia's Rainbow Anthurium Hi, my name is Anthur. I'm shusu_chans first pet. Despite appearances, I was born a red Gelert! When I was exactly 320 days old, she helped me transform into the fierce devilfish I am today. I was named after a tropical plant called "anthurium." Its flower is very pretty; it looks like a big shiny heart!

As you may know, Koi orignially come from the great underwater city of Maraqua. Unfortunately Maraqua was destroyed, and Koi were forced to move to different parts of Neopia. Then in a twist of fate, Maraqua was rebuilt. Crazy, huh? I'm looking for other Koi to talk to, since I'm new to this fish thing. *g*

I have a huge family: five younger brothers and two younger sisters! shusu_chan is nice and has adopted six of us from the Pound. I live with my brothers Abette (a fiesty yellow Shoyru), and Aussie (who's a lab pet, so he could be a girl or a boy at this moment... erm), and our youngest sibling, a Gnorbu named Amstam. My Alfy, Aoi-chan I surf the internet with shusu_chan, and I'm also something of a character herder. shusu_chan says it's like being a sheepdog, except I manage her collection of nekos and pocket bishies. They're cute! Abette helps me with that job now that I'm a Koi. We have hundreds of characters to place.

My favorite places to hang out are the library, shusu_chan's adoption site (it's pretty, and we have lots of fun there!), and of course our NeoHome! The Blue Coffee Table can also double as an aquarium for you little Neo fishies. It's a nice little bamboo house. Check out my favorite piece of furniture, a blue coffee table. shusu_chan filled it with water and made me an aquarium. If you can, come over and visit! So what am I like? I am quite strong for a Koi as my onwer takes me to the Island Training School and the Swashbuckling Academy a lot. My battledome score is 5950! You might find me Quick Fighting or hanging around the Ice Arena or Jungle Arena. More likely you'll find me at the Fishing Hole. (You can see my better catches at our Catch of the Day gallery.) I rarely have much luck, but it's great to be back in Maraqua and eating as well as Koi in the old city. Maraqua's not the only place that's changed -- I used to visit the ice slides of Lilac Island before it faded away. I also like to read lots of books, which helps make me smarter. Every now and then I check on our shop, The Satin Shop. I'm good at finding stuff for shusu_chan's Satin Collection.

This is a ghastly Gelert from the Neoquest game.


	Okay, I sometimes long for my first form as a red Gelert. So does shusu_chan. Check out her poem Loyal. Then they redesigned it after I became a Koi, and the awful pink color became pure red. And then they puppy-fied the Gelert, so I didn't feel so bad about missing out. Still, at heart I'm faithful and friendly. The other big change was the redesign of the Koi. At first we were freaked out. But it happens that the Halloween Koi is the only one without that goofy smile. And hey, I kept my fangs! What's most important is the gorgeous shade of red. Just like an anthurium.

This is a picture of me when I was a Gelert, dressing up as a Fujimiya! shusu_chan likes the anime show, "Weiss Kreuz" and although I wanted to be Omi, she made me look mean and dressed me as Aya. I hope you like the costume, we had fun making it!

Eeeek, how embarrassing!

My original form! This is how I looked for almost all of my first year. It was great being a Gelert, but the pink color was getting on my nerves. This picture's been changed a little to make it redder.

First I was transformed into a yellow Koi with a potion. While Shusu got the Rainbow Fountain passes ready, I tried posing in my new body. I thought I looked pretty tough.

We went to the Rainbow Fountain and used a couple of passes to complete the transformation! I had to get used to a lot of things as a Halloween Koi. Breathing through water was definitely weird. And then there's the trident/fork, which I couldn't lose. But I was finally the shade of red I'd longed for, so the transition went smoothly!

Soon after we entered the Battledome; this is my mean look! This is when I managed to hide from the camera... but Shusu says I'm cute. Yuck!

There's another picture of me with a black eye, but I told shusu_chan that was too embarrassing. Who would want to challenge me in the Battledome? Still, it's out there, because I do get hurt a lot. shusu_chan doesn't mind, as long as I do my best in the fight. Which reminds me... HEY! I DON'T LIKE PETS WHO WITHDRAW! I've never withdrawn, even if I got my tail handed back to me. If you're in really bad shape, shusu_chan will give you a healing potion! Just don't leave once the battle's started 'cause that means we have to wait another half hour to withdraw safely.
