Quote of the Week

Snow fell in a hush on black rooftops and parapets, softening the look of decorative spikes and giving white wigs to gargoyles. Firelight flickered in hundreds of windows, creating a swarm of stars in a sea of dark stone. Winters on Darigan Citadel, the toymaker thought, were always peaceful and cozy.

The Background For The Neopian Times

Have you ever looked at the background of the Neopian Times, and wondered why there is a Red Lenny wearing a cookie costume? Perhaps you`re curious to know the names of the various petpets and items scattered across the image that make up the backdrop of our beloved newspaper? If not, I hope this introduction has piqued your curiosity, because in this article I will be looking at the very background of the NT and revealing the names and origins of everything featured. Plushies: Blue Chia Plushie This miniature Chia plushie is finished to a high quality of detail. It is also ideal for both Chia-lovers and owners who wish to train their pet to hunt Chias. (That would be Lupes...) Starry Uni Plushie This plushie is r98 (so it`s not only Rare, but Ultra Rare!) and will set you back about 100k if you wish to add it to your gallery.

Mutant Morphology Vol. 1

Mutants! We're all familiar with them, most Neopians are afraid of them. We all know transmogrification potions have a special effect on each species of Neopet that gives them a certain shape, but did you know they're not all exactly the same? No two mutants of a similar species are identical! In this article, we'll cover the basic, visible mutations, as well as subtle differences that have been observed between different Mutant members of the same species, from Acara to Hissi.

"The Toymaker" by cosmicfire918
Snow fell in a hush on black rooftops and parapets, softening the look of decorative spikes and giving white wigs to gargoyles. Firelight flickered in hundreds of windows, creating a swarm of stars in a sea of dark stone. Winters on Darigan Citadel, the toymaker thought, were always peaceful and cozy. The Darigan-coloured Moehog sat hunched over his workbench, surrounded by projects in progress, while his finished wares hung on walls and crowded shelves around him. On the other side of a large display window, other Neopets, mostly Draconian as well, made their way down the lane, hurrying to get out of the cold. He paid them no mind. Right now he was crafting the tail for a clockwork Darigan Bori. It was probably the trickiest part of the whole figurine, since Bori had such thin tails. The toymaker had to whittle away at the wood very carefully so it wouldn’t snap, while also leaving enough room for the mechanisms that would make the tail flip back and forth when the key was wound. A few children ran by, throwing snowballs at each other, and their laughter made the toymaker pause and look up from his work. The children passed without even looking at the toy shop, but the Moehog wasn’t just hoping for customers. He liked the laughter of children. It was something, he thought, that the Citadel needed more of.

"The Fleapit Hotel: A Review " by kristenbb1
Are you in need of a vacation? Do you simply need a relaxing weekend away from your noisy neighbors who blast Jub Zambra or Gruundo at all hours of the night? Would you like to stay at a luxurious hotel with all the amenities, including a restaurant, indoor pool, and a fitness center? If you said yes to any of those questions, then the Fleapit Hotel is not for you. I have stayed at many hotels around Neopia, and the Fleapit Motel did not meet my standards. I’ve been to bad hotels before, but this was one of the worst. I didn’t even try to get my neopoints back because I was running out of there so fast. Spend your neopoints wisely and stay somewhere else. I stepped into the Fleapit Hotel bright and early Saturday morning with high hopes. I was in dire need of a weekend getaway. At first, things seemed promising. The Uni who checked me into the hotel was very friendly, and even offered to carry my luggage up to my room. The hotel lobby was nicely decorated, with deep red carpet, large windows, and beautiful paintings on the walls. While the Uni was taking my bags to the room, I decided to check out the fitness center. I walked in, expecting to see lots of exercise equipment, but all I saw was an empty room. I asked the attendant where the fitness center was. She said, “This is the fitness center!

"The Pirate King Files - Saving Princess Lotus " by ezel68
Night had fallen on Neopia Central, and outside of the Defenders of Neopia's headquarters, a pink Aisha named Mimi was pacing. A lot of things had been on her mind lately. She and her partner, Uchiha Zwiro, were in talks to be promoted to Rank III defenders. With that would come a whole new slew of responsibilities - and the possibility that she and Uchiha would be assigned different partners. She had been with Uchiha ever since her promotion from Cadet so long ago. They had been through so much together, and were loyal with each other through all of it. Uchiha was a powerful ally with his immense strength and speed, he was kind, strong, and brave, and there was something about that cheeky smile and those warm brown eyes... The hairs on the back of Mimi's neck stood up, as if they were charged with static electricity. Mimi glanced behind her, but saw no one. Perhaps there was a storm coming, or her magical powers were flaring with her emotions again... A hand clasped over her mouth, a hand that smelled of ozone and made her teeth sting as if she'd bitten into metal. Mimi's magic flared, but the hand did not relent. A harsh voice whispered into her ear."Hello, sister." ~~~~ Agent Uchiha Zwiro, alias Pirate King, yawned as he rose from his bed. The pirate Xweetok knew that had to do a lot of things today,

Isolde and the Faerie Statue:Part Two
She found herself in a wood dense with trees. Most of their leaves had fallen off. Was it winter? No, it couldn’t be, she thought, because it felt so warm. Their branches stretched every which way and made a lattice under the sky through which you could make out little triangles of a faint purple sky. But, while Isolde was looking around, the sky rapidly began getting darker and transformed from a pale mauve to a deep black, so thick and opaque that she could hardly see the trees anymore. The clouds rolled across the sky rapidly, perhaps a little too rapidly and too close to the ground to be natural. Were those clouds, actually? She smelled the air. There was no doubting it—it was smoke.
