Basic rules: Two teams of five players attempt to throw a ball (in this case, a Yooyu Petpet) into the opposing team's goal.

Yooyu: Also known as the "eleventh player" in the game, the Yooyu comes in four different varieties: snow, fire, faerie, and mutant. Each of these "balls" acts in a different way, giving its own dimension to the game. Only the healthiest Yooyus receive the honour of being allowed to participate in the Altador Cup.

Teams: The Altador Cup field currently consists of sixteen teams, each representing a different Neopian land. The winning team will receive the grand honour of displaying the Altador Cup for one year.

Committee: The Altador Cup Committee is a group of respected officials that oversees the event. If any conflicts emerge, whether they are between teams or players, the Committee will step in to find a solution. The Committee has the final word with regard to any situation that relates to the tournament.
