I'd heard stories of this magical place,
A haven for pets seeking shelter;
And I'd wondered inside if it truly was real,
Or just a tale I don't fully remember.
The old stories said it was deep in the woods,
Hidden from Faeries of Night;
And Illusen lived there, caring and kind,
In her forest glade, glowing with light.
The deep greens and browns disguised her home,
The thatch of her roof kept out rain;
When any pet came to her glade's soft embrace,
She'd dispel all their worries and pain.
Illusen, Earth One, she'd set them a quest,
Start simple, and work up to hard;
The happy pets thanked her,
And shot off at once,
So eager to please her, their star.
Illusen's Glade: shall I ever know where
The dearest earth faerie calls home?
Shall I ever find it? They say all you need
Is a heart and a passion to roam.
As evening falls on wintry night,
And chilly air rests calm and still,
The feathered patterns of the ice
Leave frosty swirls on windowsill.
Outside the lonely evergreens
Stand sparkling adorned with snow.
The stars that twinkle from afar
Dance shyly in the silver glow.
And high in winter skies above
Rests Kreludor, the distant moon.
So far away from snowy vale
Where frozen wind blows peaceful tune.
Inside, the warm and cozy room
Is heated by a modest fire.
Outside, the softly shining stars
Sing of the moon in silent choir.
As night doth fall on wintry night,
The humble land of Kreludor
Gives off a gentle fluid light
Like silver waves on distant shore.
The Chomby Chef
Ingredients fly off the shelves,
Produce disappears from frigid depths,
Bowls and plates are spinning about,
Free from where they were kept.
Sizzling pans tell the tale
Of a Chomby with a dream,
To create Neopia's greatest dishes,
To become the chef supreme.
Living on barren grounds,
His village stark and bleak,
For they had no food to eat,
Except portions sized so meek.
Seeing his friends in despair,
The Chomby went away
To find a way to save the village,
So that everyone could stay.
His travels led him across,
The vast Neopian terrain,
To lands covered in the sand,
Or washed in constant rain.
His journey led to a collection,
Of seeds from flora to vegetation,
Chokatos, tchea fruits, ummagines,
Such an exotic combination.
Upon returning from his quest,
The Chomby planted their only chance,
Water poured onto the seeds,
Nervous he stole only one glance.
Suddenly the ground was shaking,
And before his very eyes,
Fruits were growing from the dirt,
Ripe and full in size.
With the abundance of plants,
Growing across the once barren ground,
The Chomby now inspired to cook,
With all of the fruits and vegetables he found.
After years of practice in the kitchen,
Cooking tools in tail and teeth,
He invented recipes now famous,
Loved especially by every Skeith.
So now this Chomby devotes himself,
To creating fantastic dishes far and wide,
For Neopians who love to eat
His vegetable Chomby Pie.
Skating on Webbed Feet
Glassy crystal, endless ice,
The skater Bruce shall glide.
Twisting leap into the air,
Then quickly backwards slide.
Competition is intense,
It's each Bruce for himself!
Glory doth await the champ,
A medal, treasured wealth!
Twirling in the chilling breeze,
Then grinning, strike a pose.
How webbed feet possess such grace,
A mystery no one knows.
Flightless wings lift far aloft,
A slow twirl doth begin.
Spinning he shall gather speed,
Determined now, to win.
Tricks and twists none can believe,
He spins on frozen ground.
Mesmerising is each turn,
So quickly, 'round and 'round.
Ending music sounds aloud,
All glide onto the ice.
Bruce skaters in flawless sync,
A sight to stun, entice!
Skating season is their time,
None match them in this sport!
A skill passed down from Bruce to Bruce,
A gift that can't be taught.
Coveted, the final prize,
Each Bruce dreams they'll compete.
They seek to dance on glossy ice,
A sight on large webbed feet.
Halloween All Around
Gather your weapons and board up your windows,
For today is the marvelous day
that the trickery, evil, and bad ones indeed,
come out of dark hiding to play.
Disgusting aromas, intoxicating scents,
One of Sophie's latest inventions.
Balthazar's hunt for the creatures that shimmer,
Frightening and horrid intentions.
Visit the Haunted Woods, yes indeed,
and bask in the spook of the night.
A chill, a shiver, a frightening feeling
that'll leave you running a-flight.
In the Deserted Fairground's a beast undescribed
that haunts by the light of the moon.
Seek if you're brave, the truth of the monster
that'll have you for dinner quite soon.
A howl to the moon, ghosts all around
all that you do, don't look back.
They'll follow you down every street and each step
Until they decide to attack.
So tonight, stay inside and fear what shall lurk
in the dark, in the woods, and all 'round.
Because if you step out or dare to avenge,
You might get lost and never be found.
